Montana actually would probably be one of the first places hit: there are (or at least were) a bunch of missile silos deep in the wilderness. Silos are the first things on the nuclear hit list
Rabbit During the Cold War, my meager, rural hometown was considered to be a potential target for 2-3 ICBMs, due to the presence of multiple granaries and a nearby oil refinery. It’s not unreasonable to believer that there would be multiple nukes going off in Hope County.

Not just the retinas. At similar distances, Hiroshima survivors report that the eyes are entirely melted. However that’s the only inconsistency. There’s a lot of references beforehand to breakdowns in nuclear tensions, and the real world’s not that far off either, in the mind of the game creator (see the relevant VICE News video) and nuclear experts like Colin Kahl, Jeffrey Lewis, Vipin Narang and Martin Pffeifer; just look up what they have to say about Trump’s new National Security Advisor, John Bolton. Trump hired him because he was such a good speaker on Fox News, but in practically every segment he was calling for bombing North Korea. So despite the big meeting, it’s all really close.
Krispyshots Funny. I see the left's antagonism towards Russia as the most imminent threat to our civilization. I'll use in game events as an example: At one of the outposts, you can hear a radio broadcast discussing the breakdown of peace talks in the middle East (presumably negotiations between NATO and Assad, Iran and Russia over Syria), during which an unknown actor attacks both the location of the talks themselves, and Moscow, which is hit with what is presumably a nuclear weapon (The Russian death toll is listed in the millions). Everything from this point forward is pure speculation, but with the Russia leadership fractured, elements of their military command structure, fearing a full US strike (as would be expected under the MAD doctrine, and given the current geopolitical climate), and ordered a full retaliatory strike, likely exhausting their entire arsenal. My evidence for this are the targets themselves: There are three detonations in the final scene within close proximity to Joseph's compound. I believe they were targeting the derelict ICBM silos John, Jacob and Faith had made into their respective bunkers. Why? Much of the US/Russian nuclear arsenal dates back to the mid sixties, and many still retain targeting information from half a century ago. The ONLY reason those silos would be hit is in the event of a full lauch. Think about it. In an absolutely ideal situation, North Korea could hit the mainland US once, maybe twice MAX, though even that is exceptionally unlikely. But assuming they did, do you honestly believe they would attack empty silos in the least populated state in the US? Doubtful. The war in far cry is entirely the result of escalation of tensions between the US and Russia, the only two nations ON EARTH with the capacity to wipe out all life in the northern hemisphere.

Something interesting about his quotes about the seals and the lamb, if you don't already know. They're all from the Book of Revelations, specifically in the KJV. His final bit with the vials thing, is Revelations 16:1. But his whole end speech is from different bits of Revelations 8:1-2 and a couple other bits as well. Interestingly, in the New International Version, instead of vials, it's bowls. Which is why I suspect the devs chose the KJV version of revelations instead of the NIV version.

_After the finale_ *Deputy:* You don't know to a certainty what happens next. *Joseph:* I do know to a certainty. And you know what's going to happen now, Deputy. You should admit your situation. There would be more dignity in it. *Deputy:* You go to hell. *Joseph:* All right. Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule? *Deputy:* Do you have any idea how crazy you are? *Joseph:* You mean the nature of this conversation? *Deputy:* I mean the nature of _you._
Does everyone forget that silos are made to have nukes in them. So someone pressed the button. However the bunkers are to protect outside nukes. What happens when they explode in the silos. Everything is incinerated.
tummy goat Oh, right. My bad, I thought you were saying it was an EMP in general. That said, some vehicles can survive an EMP blast, such as jeeps and other trucks. I'm assuming the car you try to escape in is one of those vehicles.
tummy goat I've seen people say it's a hallucination, so this just adds to that theory. The car shouldn't have worked, and the obvious one, that radiation would have killed you within minutes.
What A-levels Physic has thought me that gamma radiation emitted from that nuclear impact should be ionizing any electrons in its radius. Rendering anything depending on electrical current useless. Also gamma rays are very bright, being that close to the mushroom cloud they should have been blinded and disintegrated. As seen what happened in Chernobyl.
i't the rapture. Those who die in the explosion are purified and gone to heaven. Those who survived will fight the last an final war. Joseph is the Antichrist and you, the player are the Messiah. You will lead the army of god that will fight the last war in the apocalyptic ruins of Hope County against the army of Satan lead by the Antichrist, Joseph Seed GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO!
Robert Kreslin two theories can be summed up from this scene. Either a) This is north korea retaliating after years of holding back. Or b) this is legitinately the actual biblical apocalypse, which means joseph seed was right. Or we can accept the alternativr theory that this is some kind of hallucination.
After looking at the other endings, I'm come to believe that the nuke belongs to Joseph. My evidence is that the nuke does not go off in the endings where Joseph get his way. However this begs the question: where, when, and how did he get a working nuke? As far as I know, there aren't prior clues in the game that hinted he was in possession of a nuclear warhead. You'd think that would be a top national security concern.
The Fat Dragon Interesting points but I don't find any of the scenarios you've brought up remotely plausible. If it was North Korea, they'd make sure the US knew it was them. If it was a hallucination, we'd figure it out on our own. I don't think it's a genuine biblical apocalypse and more of a 'backup' plan Joseph had just in case.
Robert Kreslin Reading up on your previous comment of the nuke being his, this could be an interpretation of the cult was growing so wide, it was practically out of Hope County borders. I think it works seeing as how one of the people working with the sheriff anf the deputies has held up the role of innocence before hearing the fathers voice. Could mean he had managed to get people close enough to get their hands on Nukes. As for your thoughts on the nukes not dropping after you let him go, I want to point out that the nuclear detonation occured after you decide to try and fight him. Even if you let him go and end up brainwashed by the father, the blast would still happen either way.
And of course his eyes aren’t fucked, of course he isn’t dead from the 10,000,000,000 side affects of a nuclear explosion, of course he conveniently made it out of there alive...
He was right from the get go didnt believe it at first until each radio station started going static. The war was happening as the shitstorm in Hope county unfolded. Dont agree with Joseph's method but i understand it.
If you walk away, you and your team try to leave the county to tell the national guard about the place before you kill them (I think), either way, no nukes go off, there were no nukes, your tripping balls from the bliss when that scene happens.
Honestly I think one of two things, either the protagonist was jacked out on bliss the whole time and this is just Jacob fucking with him, or the cult stole several nukes somehow and detonaded them, I just don't see Jacob actually having god powers, or Ubisoft ending the far cry world, or god blowing up the world in such a basic bitch fashion, I mean c'mon, nukes?
A lot of people are saying this is the worst ending, because almost everyone dies, Joseph lives, and Hope County (and probably the country if not the world) is destroyed. But this in my opinion is probably one of the better endings, because, sure, Joseph “wins” by living to the end and taking the deputy, but what does he have left? His bunkers in each region are destroyed, a large portion of Peggie’s have died (and probably a lot more from the nuke) and he has little to no influence anymore after this, along with little to no supplies left for surviving long in this destroyed world. Because of that, this is probably one of the better endings after the secret ending, because at least we know Joseph is fucked by being barely prepared after what the Deputy took from them.
"Sir, our nuclear missles are ready! Where should we strike?"
"The heart of America itself... Montana..."

The only difference I see between them is the Branch Davidians kept to themselves and the Project Eden guys were violent.

What's that song in 11:15 I Need the name of it
"The Worlds gonna end tonight".
_After the finale_
*Deputy:* You don't know to a certainty what happens next.
Shouldn't the emp from the blast rendering the car useless?
tummy goat The fuck are you talking about? It was a nuke, not an EMP.
Hector Smith .An EMP is caused by gamma rays which ionize atoms. All nuclear weapons produce gamma rays, so all nuclear weapons cause an EMP effect.
tummy goat Oh, right.
Also they were hit by a shock wave. But before shock wave comes heat wave that would burn them.
I find it kinda disturbing how you can hear air raid sirens going off at 9:30 before the bombs actually hit...
Literally couldnt imagine a better ending to a prophecy guided game. Holy fuck this games script is on some next level shit
What is he singing ?
I am French and sometimes I hear this song but never know what it is.
Can somebody help me please ?
Master KG1 amazing grace
Its a widely used song in American protestant worship and funerals. Amazing Grace is about redemption of sins. "I once was lost, but now I'm found".
La chanson s'appelle "Amazing Grace"
What A-levels Physic has thought me that gamma radiation emitted from that nuclear impact should be ionizing any electrons in its radius. Rendering anything depending on electrical current useless. Also gamma rays are very bright, being that close to the mushroom cloud they should have been blinded and disintegrated. As seen what happened in Chernobyl.
Well, I can say with complete sincerity that I did not see that coming whatsoever
The trumpet at the end of 7 signals the apocalypse.
i't the rapture. Those who die in the explosion are purified and gone to heaven. Those who survived will fight the last an final war. Joseph is the Antichrist and you, the player are the Messiah. You will lead the army of god that will fight the last war in the apocalyptic ruins of Hope County against the army of Satan lead by the Antichrist, Joseph Seed
GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO!
One thing about Far Cry: there's never a happy ending.
If you sit through the credits, there should be a stinger scene where Hurk wanders in and asks if you have any pornography in your bunker.
Stalker 2 confirmed?

So umm... where and when did he get a nuke? Is the nuke even his? If not, than what events transpired that led up to the use of nuclear weapons?
An excellent point.
Robert Kreslin
two theories can be summed up from this scene.
The Fat Dragon
Interesting points but I don't find any of the scenarios you've brought up remotely plausible. If it was North Korea, they'd make sure the US knew it was them. If it was a hallucination, we'd figure it out on our own. I don't think it's a genuine biblical apocalypse and more of a 'backup' plan Joseph had just in case.
Robert Kreslin
Reading up on your previous comment of the nuke being his, this could be an interpretation of the cult was growing so wide, it was practically out of Hope County borders.
@7:50 hurk from far cry 4??
Yeah he is in the game.
He died :(
and 3
dont forget primal had his ancestor
If this isn’t a bliss hallucination then yes...he is incinerated by the nuke along with boomer, jess black and basically everyone you help
Maybe he found a bunker somewhere he has to be in FC6
I think what Joseph Seed means by the world is on fire is that his land is about to be nuke not the world his valley of HOPE
this ending was perfect
Just love the music in the first cutscene.
Apparently the guy making the game actually thought the world is going to end by the time he finished the game
I feel like the nukes would’ve gone off no matter witch ending you choose but however in this ending you’ll actually see the nuke go off 😳🤯🤯🤯
"We'll meet again don't know where don't know when!!!!"
3:27
Says the guy who had a giant statue of himself built, and holds himself to messiah status 24/7? right.....
Can someone tell me what's in Montana that's so important that they had to drop about twenty nukes in one area?
Did...did they just pull a hotline Miami 2 on us?
Wow thanks, your thumbnail/title completely spoiled the ending for me :(
The radio music for this is ridiculously hard to find
What if Far Cry 5 is actually a prequel to Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon?
I'mma let that sink in for you
Two nukes jesus
Three actually, four if you count the nuke during the beginning speech that caused all the wind kicking everything up.
I agree.
Closest thing we ever get to Kevin Smith's original ending of "Red State" film.
Sequel teaser trailer is out!(Game awards teaser) (The nuke happened)
15:35 *I AM YOUR FATHER*
No...That's not true...That's impossible!
I hope none of the previous Far Cry games are canon.
I'm glad he didn't die. Love him 😍❤
