I am so happy to have found and enjoyed this majestic evening of music. Philip Catherine is a treasure.
Philip Catherine is surely the best guitar in the Jazz world. And no doubt it's the one I like most. Love his guitar sound. What he did with Henning or Rasinfosse counts among my prefered Jazz records. 🎶🎵❤️👍🤗
I'm a like but not love Jazz type, and a lot of it leaves me cold. But yesterday I heard PC for the first time on the collab with Chet Baker and was like "Wow that's my favorite jazz guitar player ever" within minutes. That warm tone and beautiful musicality -- never empty chops and thin ice tonality -- it's all like dark chocolate.
By me it's exactly the same😀 my father loves Jazz and plays it a little, but most I think 'I do'nt like it a lot,' but I've heard it yet, and I tough:
wow! I like it!😍
@@sannievermeulen6724 Get it through Cool Jazz Trios. Just a Drummer (or percussionist on brushes) , a Bass and you have the Rythm Line. Then the difficult Guitar Solos jamming and keepping up with, and you'll enjoy the whole. Trios and Quartets, as much, will become your preferred Formations. May it be with just the Rythm Line, a Piano and a Saxo Tenor (working on the Low Tones), as much. Also. Bill Evans Trio, or some Ben Webster late days recordings and you'll easily get into. Late at nite Jazz is a lovely one. Search on for the Mellow Tones. 😔🙏
@@rickartdefoix1298 thanks for the information😊🙏 I'm gonna surch it, and I think I will like it😊🥰😄
Superbe ! Cette musique me va en plein cœur, me remue les tripes . Génial. Merci de votre talent.
Bravo à tous sublime 🙏
Monsieur Catherine un des
Plus grands guitariste tous
Style confondus pas de chichi
Que de la belle musique
paix à son âme ❤
I was in the audience, great moment with Philip.
Me too!😃
Amazing guitarist, feeling overwhelmed by his music, a person should be considered lucky to listen to such a great musician.
Don't doubt. Philippe Catherine counts for me and legions of Jazz Lovers, among the best we ever had. He has a cd which is a gem we all surrendered at. With or without Henning Orsted Pedersen, Catherine always shines. 😔🙏
Simply extraordinaire! 🎼🎸🎼
one of the last Jazz guitar Giant.
Awesome! At 75, you don't have to prove ANYTHING anymore - and may turn knowledge into wisdom. Chapeau!
J'adore ! Merci pour cette si bonne musique !
How huge and beautiful this is.
'Homecomings' in heaven...a master...the Master...
Simply... wow!
Philip has in my view one of the most magnificent guitar tones - especially noticeable on his studio recordings. Wonderful changes between his rhythm and solo parts , I haven't heard that in any other player
La belle époque du Jazz bien de chez nous, made in Belgium!!!

ASPIRING JAZZ GUITARIST HERE!
@@robertz1962 my fist record from Philip was "sleep my love", I was not ever 16 then. Over 40 years later, I just saw him and Nikola in Enghien just 2 weeks ago. Walking into the Capucins Abbey down the long corridor to the chappel I could hear them during the sound check and it was so obvious that its him playing. The mystery of the old abbey walls covered with the golden tone of Philip Catherine.
Just great Philip. 👌👍. Carl Axel

Is he playing a Collings guitar???
Godin Composer
Qui est le trompetiste ?
is the old pianist guy blind?? he looks like a crazy doc.
Bert Van den Brink, and yes he is blind.
Bert van den brink is the best improviser i ever heard live on piano
Old blind guy?!? Go fuck yourself. What are you? 14?
@@OkraWimfrey i am an old blind guy and i am 14. Keep the language clean
are such masters born today? I think no.
Musical Katastrophy!
I would like to ask you for an explanation about your comment...
One year later that you posted it, and after I have had a good moment of music, I read your comment and I dont understand what you've had to blame at Philippe and the talentuous musicians on stage. Maybe my poor english knowledge make me missunderstanding this comment.
Maybe you'll say to me that it's my poor music knowledge that is un cause. Would you help me ?
