The TF51 definitely has a narrower cardioid pattern and picked up less "room", which I prefer. The bottom on the Warm was a little nicer but something in the upper midrange was a little unpleasant. Nice singing!
I agree, listened to this on a pretty solid setup and idk, I wasnt too impressed with the warm audio. The TF51 was silky and smooth, transients were alot clearer, the warm audio sounded "enclosed" "slightly artificial" idk quite how to describe it. But I agree something in the upper mids i didnt really like.
Thanks Joel, I think the TF51 and my voice pair a bit better than the wa251, so I would generally track my vocals with the telefunken over the warm audio!
I agree, top end more pleasing on the TF51. The WA though sounds like it may have more body? I’m trying the Manley Ref C this week then the TF51. I do more aggressive hip hop tho so a little worried about over sibilance with both mics
Not sure if it's just a better performance or the mic, but the Warm 251 sounds saucy. Plus there seems to be more emotion caught on the take with the Warm mic as well. I dig your vocal tone, keep at it!
Wow! Hey man, great voice! Really nice. The Warm, actually sound beautiful. That TF51, is a monster, but the warm holds it's own. I'd go for the warm if I couldn't afford the TF51.
I thought this had so much views until i checked you deserve so much more thank you so much for the help. The video and your voice is amazing Please stay safe, love, and blessed always Jesus loves you
Both mics sound great, the 251 has a higher perceived loudness though, probably with the higher and lower frequencies coming through more. I liked the sound of the TF51, I get the impression it’ll handle EQ better. Great vocal performance by the way!
firs thing that I got to say it WOW on your vocal performance......well done my friend! as for the mics, they both sound great, but I would give a slight advantage to the TF51.

Absolutely fantastic comparison, incredible tone on the TF51 for your voice. Also just remarkably pretty singing, awesome lyrically and melodically. Pure skill!
WA Sounds great ! Two of my friends have Telefunken 251s - one is a Vintage, one is a 2005 Modern one. I borrowed (& bought) a European ‘NLP Audio Elam’ has a German Haun Capsule.. The NLP Elam is every bit as good (nearly identical) as the Modern 251 ! I’ve tried it on 2 females now & one male. Sold my U67 !
The top end of the tf51 sounded a lot smoother, but I like the weight on the lows of the 251. Both are good mics, but if I had to choose based on my personal use case, I prefer the Telefunken, but the Warm is within my budget, so, Warm it is 😂😂
nice vocals!! and tbh the warm audio sound better on ur voice the tf51 sounds good to but it sound like it picked up more low end and not enough of the top end. but the warm just sounded so full and the top end just sounded amazing
The "warm audio" sounds less precise but "warmer", although problematic when reaching the falsettos. I prefer the TF51. You don't want to struggle with your own recordings when mixing. BTW your vocals are definitely interesting, you could sing in a musical.
The Telefunken may sound a little better. But I'm not sure if it sounds $1000 better. It's too bad you can't get your hands on an actual 251. But I believe those are like $10,000+. I thought your vocals sounded great, btw.
Yeah I agree, I do like the TF51, and I think as you move up in those higher priced the mics, it’s small percentages of increase in quality, but I guess that stuff can make life a little easier when mixing etc. but I’ve always had great success when using the WA251! Thanks man
@@spinlightstudios Brother excellent comparison! Have you heard the telefunken tf 11? It is the same line as the tf 51, but it is a fet microphone. Do you think it's worth it for vocals? I can't decide between the tf 11 or the warm audio wa 251
@@jazi5466 I would choose the 251 over the tf11 personally, from memory I thought the tf11 was a little overly bright, but it’s hard to say without actually trying one out. The wa251 has been a real work horse on vocals in my studio, does really well across a broad spectrum of singers.

Agreed. They both sound pretty good - even on my average vocals haha I do feel like the Warm has some weird mid range going on. But it’s nothing A small cut wouldn’t fix
Picking up less room as mentioned before might be much more important as many of us realize. I guess the Warm Audio would perform much better in a "more dead" room. Thanks, yes it’s an original, the song is called “A diamond’s just a stone” by Rhys Zacher - it’s on Spotify I think. It’s a pretty old one of mine. Pretty sure the reverb was Valhalla vintage verb!
The Warm is much nicer. The TF sounds constricted with more of a modern harsh sound. They’re both Chinese btw, so name brand should not be a consideration.
