Vietnamese bread 🥖 is the best in the world. The French may have shown them how to make a baguette- but the Vietnamese perfected it. It’s light and airy on the inside. Crispy and flaky on the outside. Bread perfection.

    0) My immigrated mom was only one of family left & brought via Laos crossing Mekong river to Thailand border at her age of only 5 years old by sacrificing of some Laotian & VN soldiers from air bombing along the river by the French in 1946.)
    1) Thailand had no any refugee regular, aside to the US at that time, so all the immigrants would be transferred to 3rd country but she's never been to any 3rd country or returning to her homeland since then.
    2) Her attention has been dedicated to give all her wealth to ppl who helped her, no marriage until turning at 4x years old then gave my birth.
    3) She denied to get education if limiting her freedom, that was why a few years of prison in a camp.
    4) I asked her why did you not go back to search other relative in VN, her answer: I will do that when I have enough money to support her ppl there. And now that heritage is sent pass to me that could not speak VN.
    5) So much painful of being human passing any hardship causing by human but I'm sometime glad that DEMENTIA could heal some PTSD ppl to rest in PEACE as ever.

I would disagree with this. Saigon was a thriving business city because the French and US pump billons dollars to the area and south Vietnam was opened up to the world for trading and stock exchange. Meanwhile the North got sanction from trading to the world and they were pretty much got closed off. South Vietnam was poorly governed despite there was a lot of US dollars around because of corruption all over the city. Southern Vietnam was not self sufficient when the US pulled out of Vietnam, South Vietnam couldn’t even handle pressure from the North because they were lacked of money and weapons, south Vietnam was poorly governed and lack of support from its own people. The South Vietnam was destined to lose the war and it was very predictable.
