He's originally a power metal/classical guitarist, so yeah
He's not an original member, nor did he help develop their style. Kiko is a hired gun, the same as Marty. Marty says he doesnt even like to palm mute. LoL. So yeah.. whenever a hired gun is involved, of course.. they arent going to have the same exact style as the people in the band who started the style of music they play.

I stepped away from my guitar..Heart broken , But here I find encouragement . Tonight !!.... . I had my thumb amputated , Stage 4 cancer , bleeding and barely able to walk . I needed this . Hopefully the small time away allows me to have a different approach and find something deep inside . I believe I will and this video was the inspiration I needed . Thanks for being real

God bless you! There is this man, called Joao Carlos Martins which is a brazilian pianist sheredder. Kiko's done some jam with him. He got some paralysis in his hands and he's got to overcome all the issues and reinvented himself. Truly inspiring, man!

Here are some players who were missing fingers or had other hand/arm limitations: Tony Iommi, Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Jerry Garcia, Andres Godoy, Christian Muenzner, Theodore Roosevelt “Hound Dog” Taylor . . . and I’m sure there are others that come to mind.
I, myself, have been disabled for 20 years from a work accident with a syndrome that causes chronic pain, muscle weakness, dexterity issues, tremors, skin sensitivity, etc. It affects my entire body. I also became ill in 2018 and needed a major lung biopsy that messed up my right arm. I also have a brain injury from the 2003 accident. Somehow, I overcame a ton and learned to play on my own.
Of course I am no pro, but I’ve come much farther than I ever imagined. You can do it too! You may have to try things and be patient, but you will learn to compensate faster than you think.
Hope this gives you hope. Once you heal, you can use it as a form of therapy. Playing guitar has been my physical, occupational, cognitive, and recreational therapies all rolled into one. I play every day or night unless I’m truly too sick. Being tired is not an excuse because I’m always tired and a few minutes is all it takes to get a little playing in. My service dog also enjoys his music time every day. Once you’ve healed and fell like you are ready, pick up that guitar and just try what works and doesn’t. Sometimes you can make your own assistive devices to help you along. I sure have done that to help me. Using alternate chords helps. I can’t do barre chord song, so I use power chords and/or open chords instead. You’re gonna figure it out, promise!

The first thing I will do after watching this, is taking a ten day brake from guitar. Maybe I can play like this after it! If it works for Kiko, it should work for me too!😄
Megadeth has had some great musicians in the band over the years, but my two favorites are Marty and Kiko.
"Rust In Peace" is my favorite Megadeth album. "Temple Of Shadows" is my favorite Angra album.
Yes, for me it is Marty, Al Pitrelli and Kiko. My top 3 in no special order.
Back in music school, I remember taking the whole spring break week off. When I went back to it, it felt better than if I had practiced the whole week.
Still much better than my entire 20 years experience 😂

For a person who has been playing every day for decades, it takes a lot longer than 10 days to lose touch. And I've been playing for decades and I was very surprised to play like nothing happened after 4 months off. Salutations Kiko!

I find these Kiko videos of the backstage stuff so down to Earth and natural. If any of us who plays guitar as aspirations to make it on to the big stage then these videos are inspirational.

No sweat! I sometimes stop playing guitar for 2 weeks because of other endeavors. Then it actually clears your head too and you really crave playing again and enjoy it even more after the break.
I totally agree and while it is pretty much like riding a bike, anything more than 2-3 days, the guitar has felt foreign to me a bit...especially if I don't play for like 5 days or more. Like you are now out of "guitar shape" and need to exercise to get back to where your fingers and wrists were.

Kiko, when you were practicing at 3 minute mark there some amazing pieces you played. You should put an hour video of just practicing. I think you'd be shocked how many view you would get. Love it!!

it's mostly a bunch of different scales, either way some really good warm up.
My experience is that a few days off after an intensive workout-type practice series actually helps - the pieces I was practicing hard went more natural after a 2-3 days off. Ok, perhaps it was just a day or 2 but you get the picture.😄 Cheers!

Yeah I just came back from a seven day camping trip and it’s weird touching the guitar now the neck feels so strange I gotta get used to it again but I’ve noticed it’s like a creative refresh with my riffs
