This is the belly dance or closest to it that got me interested as a young girl and every moment since in belly dance. Thank you for this refreshing to see on youtube where they got a load more people who flash and fast can you go moves on you tube that well they are belly dance but there not deep just flash and so sustenance. What do you know it is irina of course! I always recommend watching her and I didn't even notice it was her until after I posted this comment and had to edit it to say so. I also highly recommend Horus all the time for years!
This is definitely a new style of belly dance. Traditional belly dance does have fast movements but it's totally heartfelt when it's done well. Some women focus more on technique and flashiness depending on what they want to do. I really like Soheir Zaki as a great example of raqs sharqi.
This is one of the best tribal belly dance performances I have ever seen. Everything in this interpretation is on point, capturing the wariorr theme, the execution is perfect, not overdone at a single moment - and the fact she did not smile once made it even better. A less controlled facial expression would only have ruined this incredible piece of dance art.

This Amazon warrior conquered all without firing a shot. The music was oddly satisfying, Irina was beautiful and lithe, like a snake in the tall grass. Totally enchanting. I never thought there were so many talented ladies on the fusion dance circuit. This ethnic fusion thing seems to be taking on a life of its own. Long live the ancient art of belly dancing!

This is Tribal/Fusion belly dance, is different from the traditional style which is a lot faster.

This is the default Russian facial expression. She doesn't need to control her face. Being warriors is historically in the blood of Russians.
