Hi Easy ! I just caught some of last week's show ,last night , for some reason, I wasn't notified, but anyway, hope you and the fam are well, im about to watch tonights Easy Show ! Take care Brother 👊!!!
I very much enjoy the Superboy comics and have fun collecting those books because quite simply, they are Fun! Just love the crazy and goofy stories! Older comics 50’s to early 80’s any day for me!
hi ECR. Very cool JLA winning, yes you have quite a bit of luck, when it comes to contests. Speaking of Duke Ellington, I told you about my uncle, well I learned something I never knew, he also practiced with Duke Ellingtons orchestra. I mentioned to Triple C that when I'm financially able, I might take part in some of his claim sales. Speaking of UA-cam community auctions, Englentines I love Comics UA-cam channel, has an affordable comic auction every Saturday night & sometimes during the week. Fantastic books everyone of them, too many to comment on, I always liked those comics with Superman flying over his title. I had Joust in the 80's I liked it. I never really liked the Osmonds, they had a bit of a rivalry with the Jackson Five, no contest I'll take the Jackson Five any day.
@@michaeltaylor978 Brother Michael 👊😎 That is very cool about your Uncle. I have bought from Engletine a couple of times - cool guy 👍 Yeah man, I'm on a really good Superman kick right now - just so fun to read ☺️ This Osmonds song was awesome - but I'm with you - Jackson 5 all day baby 😁 Take care Michael - see you soon 🫡
I can't remember Team Yankee, cuz by '88 I was not buying new comics, but it looks really cool and a unique concept. The Timespirits, I had some and am slowly working on it, but it's one big story, you should get them all before attempting to read it, or it won't make sense. Great show. Also in full agreement on Superman, I never even read Crisis onward to 90s.
@@Quite_Nuff_Sayer Thanks for the heads up on Timespirits - looks like an 8 issue run 🤔 Team Yankee ran for six - both seem pretty attainable , I'm going to read what I have soon 👍 Read a few of those Superman comics yesterday - have a few video ideas for later 😀 Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow brotha - take care 🫡
I'm going to have to track that Fist Of The North Star down, just to see that guy fighting with his fists on fire! That Joust commercial looked awesome and I used to but all my speakers off of that old geezer at the end, that pay nothing for 90 days sure helped as most of them stopped working during that period. Some nice claim sale stuff you picked up there as well Easy.
@@tmpsfrommars Tempus !!! 😅 That clip was a hoot - probably the best song I've heard in a while 😎 Never trust a wizard who sells sub-par speakers - they are used to transmit evil spells to make you buy more garbage from him 🧙♂️ Appreciate you watching and dropping a line brotha - looking forward to your video soon 🫡
@@GraphicManComics Bose was top of the line. I remember buying a Marantz stereo system for my 1st apartment - it was pretty high dollar back then, passed it on to a nephew when I moved out. Thanks for stopping by Mica 🫡
EASY!!! Void indigo was supposed to be a Hawkman story by Steve Gerber but they decided to go a different route. It's a far out story man. I'm loving your JLA book you won. That's a classic, your on fire lately brother. Lots of fun books man,I gotta get me some two fisted tales cranking up the Jam box!! As always I really enjoyed this video brother, GOD bless
@@Higgypop53 So many big time greats doing the Two -Fisted Tales 👊 I want to do a feature on them soon. I remember you talking about void Indigo awhile back muchacho 🤘 Now I gotta see how crazy it is 🇺🇲🫡🦅
Fantastic show Mike! I love hearing King Curtis on the sax.. Such a great talent that we lost way too soon . Congrats on the great win on the JLA books! Also a big fan of the Superman/Superboy stuff. Cool happenings all the way around brother.. Take care my friend 😊
@@solid4stbend I thought you would like King Curtis 😎 I was actually thinking of you when I added it - mostly for Jerry Jemmott on bass ☺️ Appreciate you stopping by brotha Shannon 🫡
@@easycomicreader Aww man.. Jerry Jemmott.. I can go down a serious rabbit hole talking about bass players.. Him, Jamerson, Tommy Cogbill, Carol Kaye, Jaco, Chuck Rainey.. ok.. I’ll stop now 🤣
@@CheapComicCollector I should have told the story of what you told me about their wanting to make some "edgier" music - but I wasn't sure if the video was going to stay 😁 Talk to you later brotha 🫡
I'm a lot like you when I go for books at Cheap Comic Collector's claim sales. I mean, at $2 a book (including shipping!), it's fun just to splurge on stuff you don't already collect but are curious to try out. I would say that at least half (but probably more) the books I claim are series or creators I want to find out what they are all about. If only to add to the old comic book knowledge as you say. * * * I concur with Greyman, The New Adventures of Superboy was an attempt to recapture the fun and sometimes sillyness of the DC of the 1950's, especially the style of stories published in the Superman titles edited in the Mort Weisenger era. They are a lot of fun. * * * Good grab on the Buzz Sawyer! I have the first hardcover volume (you can sometimes see it in the background of my videos) and not only was it very well written, but the art by Roy Crane is beautiful and was very influential on other great artists (such as Alex Toth amang many). * * * Good show Easy ! Keep them coming!
@@Rangersly Brother Ranger 👊😎 As long as I can keep finding gems that have a root in comic history - I will gladly pay my "tuition" fee and jump into the lesson 😊 ---A few years ago, I read a collection of 1950s Superman stories reprinted in b/w and had so much fun. I had an anime of Fist of the North Star it's an 18 certificate, I never knew there was an old live action version of it too, that's wild and terrible old TV. Another nice win and great pick ups on the claim sales. I have that New Adventures of Superboy run, great series in the old style of DC stories. I picked up a few Weird Mystery Tales myself recently, I'm not sure if I have that one you showed yet though. That speakers looked ancient more than vintage I think. Happy reading and easy riding until next time brother
That Crazy Horses track is wild and it's a strange chronological anomaly, the OTT dancing, the crazy hairdos, the clothing it should be naff and laughable but it's such a killer track and everything is just cool about it even though it should be as dated and campy kitsch whatever as heck, it's just a killer tune and performance.
@@thegreyman I just found the "bootleg" North Star video yesterday - awesome song 😎 I picked up a few more New Adventures Superboy early issues - but I would love to get em' all. Any Bronze Horror is on my list - but it looks like I need to part with a few more bucks to close in on the run. I definitely had my share of giant speakers over the years 😁 Take care brotha Grey - I'll get caught up on your comic ad videos soon Amigo 🫡
@@thegreyman That song was recommended by Higgy Pop a few weeks ago. Rob - Cheap Comic Collector - told me that was the direction the Osmonds wanted to go, but could not risk losing a ton of money in revenue - so they stuck with the bubble gum scene. I was blown away by that tune 😎
