I really love how Zepbound has brought the nerdy experimentalist out of so many people. It’s so great that you investigated things on your own and drew well-informed conclusions about your weight gain and sleep apnea improvements. Bravo! I’m on week 5 of my journey and I often send my brother your videos for inspiration.
Thank you for following along with me and thanks for sharing my content. Much appreciated. Also, congratulations on starting your journey! You’ll have to keep me posted on how you’re doing!
@@nerdincubator that’s the beauty of it being a peptide. It feels safe to cut back, go up or down depending on how we feel and just experiment in general. I am learning all the peptides seem to be “less is more” anyway. Which makes sense…use just enough to support the body and get desired results instead of typical pharma which masks symptoms or strongarms the body to submission.
RMZ, I am glad that you’re figuring out maintenance and testing things in real time. You’re eating real food, with real friends, and testing to see how your body responds. That is an ultimate beta test. How are things on the 7.5 vs the 5? Are you still getting your brand filled? The sleep apnea is a real PAIN. It’s also frustrating when your doc won’t even say, come back in and let us test you in the facility. If they needed the referral, they could have reached out to your primary doc and requests a referral for a in person study. IDK, but I guess your knowledge of the machine and your imperial evidence was triggering to the Pulmonologist. Please keep sharing your story and putting a face on it. We all have to be reminded that these meds are NOT just about WL, but about living a fulfilling life.
7.5 has been much better than 5 when it comes to food noise. Of course the trade off is weight loss. Think I’ll shoot for 215 since I’m so close, but will have to find a way to increase my calories. Which is hard due to the meds and my GSV. Won’t get in with my primary until November. So will see what my options are then. The sleep study place said it’s harder to get a lab study these days unless there is some kind of super health concern.
Wow! Down 64, congratulations! That’s amazing! One thing I wish I would have explained in the video is so others unfamiliar could understand: The way the machine works, is it increases the pressure to arrest any apnea events. The issue is the pressure itself is causing the apneas to occur. So the more events it creates, the higher the pressure goes in an effort to reduce the apneas. But of course the high the pressure goes, the higher the events it creates. It’s like a dog chasing its tail.

I would DEFINITELY get another opinion concerning your sleep apnea 😳. Sounds like they wanna keep you on the machine for their benefit 🤦🏽♀️. Yeah you gotta get your wedding ring resized because you really don’t wanna lose that. I wear a thumb ring that needs to be put away because it falls off mostly when I wash my hands. Thanks for the inflammatory information… I never knew that. You broke it down to the point where it made sense to me 😏
Yeah washing my hands with my ring on is an adventure! 🤣 What is funny about the inflammatory thing, I was listening to a Live on TikTok yesterday where a nutrionist/weight loss coach was talking about that very same thing. He even went into how many calories a person would have to eat in 2 days in order to really gain 10 pounds.
Yeah that was VERY interesting 🤔 and all this time I thought it was the fat in foods when actually it’s the inflammation that’s causing the weight gain smh. Thanks for sharing!
@round, very tuned in sensitivity to all the nuance of your journey. I know you mentioned having a scale that provides a lot of metrics, when you suspected your inflammatory reaction to food, did you see some of the various metrics change just beyond your inability to sustain your weight ?
Those composition components moved slightly. I think my lean mass showed an increase of nearly 2 pounds at the higher weight while my fat mass was up by a half a pound.

Good result today. Yes, your insights are spot on. It shows, the meds can’t do it all. What you eat is very important overall, and especially in maintenance.
I dropped from 10mg to 5mg and it was helping me stay a little below 225, but the food noise was creeping back. So I moved back up to 7.5 to control the noise but that seems to have kicked my loss back up. Trying to find a balance 😂
I was on 2.5 for 4 weeks and lost 16.5. On 4 for 4 weeks and lost 12. On 7.5 for 12 weeks and lost 35.7. On 10 for 10 weeks and lost 30. Then dropped down to 5 for maintenance and did that for 4 weeks. Due to food noise I bumped back up to 7.5 and this is my 3rd week of that.

This happened to me about two weeks ago! I gained 10 pounds in a few days with fluid retention. It finally left about several days. 😊
Crazy how that happens. It’s something I never even thought about until I got on this journey. The body is amazing.

Charles, any chance for a second opinion with a different pulmonologist/ sleep center? You need a doctor who listens.

Could the weight have caused a structural change and a “procedure” would correct it?
