Named my cat Stella just so I can re-enact the scene at home
Same! 😂
😂😂😂
Lol named my Bernedoodle Stella for the same reason
😂
My English Sheepdog is named Stella!
I love the music. It’s sultry but not romantic … it even starts to sound creepy at the end, showing us that this is a terrifying, toxic relationship.
That is a razor sharp comment
Writing an essay on this film for an assignment, i hope you dont mind me stealing this point
@@agravemisunderstanding9668REPORTED TO CANVAS AND TURNITIN…. Jkay 😂
Perfection.
Cam brought me here..Cam nailed it ( just my thoughts.. please dont crucify )
Dont worry, Cam's scene calling the dog is ALWAYS the first thing that pops in my mind when I hear someone scream Stella!! 🤣🤣🤣
He certainly did nail it! So did Elaine on Seinfeld! 🤣
@@lolahernandez6871 😂🤣
No one nail it like Brando, but yes Cam was fantastic😂😂
“HEY, STELLA!” One of the most memorable scenes from a movie that most modern kids may not know about.
I'm finally reading the play right now, after seeing it referenced in the TV shows Seinfeld and The Simpsons. Might have to watch the movie after I'm done reading.
now the cast of the movie had died all half
This play did nothing to make it interesting or relatable to modern kids lmao
Brilliant references to this moment were made on two of the best sitcoms of all time: Seinfeld and Modern Family.
@@yolandamofork7632I think it’s still relatable reading it in 2024. Toxic relationships and financial trouble seems to be timeless to me
Here after watching elaine scream stellaaa in seinfield
one of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ greatest moments ever. 😂
@@12classics39 my queen 👑 im obsessed with her performance in Hbo veep then started watching seinfield gosh what a talent 👏
Or Stewie in Family Guy
STELLA!!! the scene referenced in every 90s cartoon for some reason
SMITHERS!!!
Even in Seinfeld
You leave Mr. Burns out of this!!!
Reason was Brando a good act!
Gilmore girls as well!
Anyone here from Poor Things? Mark Ruffalo definitely channeled Brando in that balcony scene lol
OMDS YEP loooool - just watched ASND yesterday and thought of this immediately. Also thing Yorgos was referencing Tristana aswell.
The soft jazz music in the background makes the scene even better
I can't stop watching that part when Brando yells, "STELLA!" Brando was so gorgeous in this movie. You hated to see a scene without him in it! He's DEFINITELY the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen‼️🤴♥️
My favorite part is where Elaine takes muscle relaxers because her back hurts from sleeping on Jerry's parents couch and when they're at the neighborhood association ceremony the muscle relaxers kick in and she starts hollering "Stella,Stella" Lol
Elaine Benes brought me here 😂
I can't find such acting in modern movies. Refreshing.
Then you probably aren’t watching the right movies
Have you seen the MCU?
@@lodgepodge3039 Daniel Day Lewis, Merryl Streep, Pacino, DeNiro, Nicholson are all amazing I've seen every movie nominated for best picture 2024. There are TONS of amazing actors and actresses. But there's only one Brando. And we'll never see acting like this again.
@@lodgepodge3039There are wonderful actors, one Brando.
Guy, this was terrible 😂
Rip Marlon Brando Jr, Vivian Mary Hartley, Mladen Sekulovich, Janet Cole, Margaret Hillias, Rudolph Bond, Richard Thomas O'Brien, Nick Dennis, Edna Lewis Thomas, Theodore Matthew Michael Kuhn Jr, Wright Thornburgh King, Marietta Canty, Charles Wagenheim, Lyle Zeiem, Tufei Fatella, Argiris Kavidas, Dhai Cristiani, Walter Scott Bacon, Buck Woods, Nino Pavese, Joesph John Brooks Jr, and Mike Morelli, you will be missed
They're all deceased?? RIP🙏💔🙏💔🙏💔
Had to come here after watching “Poor Things.” Pretty great homage to this scene and a great film in itself.
Marlon Brando was the one nobody could take their eyes off & he's the only one who didn't receive an Oscar. Vivian Leigh Best Actress winner, Kim Hunter Best supporting actress & Karl Malden Best supporting actor.
I had an entire English lesson about this. Before him yelling like a maniac, he essentially held all the power in the household but see here he's on his knees for the woman, she has the power.
🎼 can't you hear me yella you're putten me through hella Stella STELLAAA
Stanley: Hey, Stella!
god marlon brando was fine
1:36 just did this in the middle of a Walmart
Just saw a guy doing this in the middle of Walmart
For real?
Epic as epic can be.
I really like the part when he yelled 'Stella'
Stella was like, "You're hot. I forgive you."
Here after watching Ned Flanders scream stellaaaaaaaa!
I now get the reference...
same here lol
Stella! can’t you hear me yella you putting me through hella STELLA!
Excellent Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh movie ever. One of my top five favorite movies of Marlon Brando (like On the Waterfront, the first Godfather movie, Apocalypse Now, and The Freshman for instance). The "Hey Stella!" is one of my favorite line by Marlon Brando in that film A Streetcar named Desire. Also, I would recommend the third Equalizer movie with Denzel Washington if you can upload it, along with Wind with Matthew Modine and Jennifer Grey, Batteries not included with Jessica Tandy, Gone with the Wind with Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh, Chinatown with Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, The Accidental Tourist with William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, and Geena Davis, and those two Madonna movies (like A League of their Own with Tom Hanks and Geena Davis, and Dangerous Game with Harvey Keitel for instance).
Don't forget Kim Hunter. She soldered in this scene.
So this is what the young godfather use to look like
He was beautiful 🎉🎉🎉
"Marge !!!!"
Smitheeeeers!!!
over the hedge lol
Tiger:" SSSTTTTEEEEELLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"
seinfeld snd modern family reference
...plus Fonzie in 'Happy Days' & Ally in 'Everybody Loves Raymond'!
Can you hear the pain in his voice? How much he needs Stella and how she knows he needs her. This is absolutely the sexiest scene ever.
It’s a toxic relationship, but I get it.
Incredibly charged scene
Yes, I think it's really Kim Hunter who steals the scene. The look on her face as she marches down the stairs
For anyone needing some background into this scene. The character that Marlon Brandon plays, Stanley, had stayed over the previous night at the house of his friends, Morty and Helen, and slept on a convertible couch that was horribly uncomfortable. That did his back in and he was in indescribable pain, so in this scene he is absolutely high on muscle relaxants.
The thing I like about movies is usually you can walk down the street and not put yourself in someone else’s shoes, or not know their experience. And people can really only see beyond the Horizon of their own experience, or what they’ve heard, or what they’ve seen or what they write about. But when you watch a movie, you kind of take yourself out of yourself and you put yourself in the shoes of the protagonist. This kind of all of peoples consciousness cause otherwise you never would’ve had this experience in your life.
Gilmore girls brought me here and now I’m gonna watch this movie soon
It’s all about the birds and the bees kids !! Hell yeah.
What's Happening!! brought me here.
I was watching Gilmore girls “that damn Donna reed” with subtitles on so I looked this up
Kim Hunter smoldered!!! The sexiest scene on film.
I really love this scene, not sure why
Smitheeeeeeeers!
All I can think of when I see this is Elaine Benes on "Seinfeld". 😅
I can listen to this uber gorgeous guy, Marlon Brando yell this all day long‼️🫅♥️🫅♥️🫅
Ned Flanders brought me here
Película completa en español
What kind of bracelet does Marlon (Stanley) have on in this scene?
Stella was always going to go back
Who is here because of modern family
Elaine from seinfield brought me here
i get her honestly
Monday
Anybody here from modern family
He’s sounds like Marlon Brando in a Street Car named Desire instead of Stella!!!….USE MY CARD!!!
i swear, every film that i watch over the years have made this reference. being born in 1993 and not knowing what is going on and not knowing who DAFUQ stella is...thank god for youtube. i'm going to watch this movie. this better be a good movie...i'll let you know when i'm done and tell you if i like it or not.
So, did you?
@@Tammy8823 after i found out how long it was, i add it to my list. and ironically i was thinking about it when i woke up. and seeing this, i will take it as a sign. i'll let you know before the day is over.
@@Tammy8823 i watched an hour of the movie....so far i like the movie. i didn't know they talk about zodiac signs in that time. i feel bad about DuBois when she talk about losing your value as a woman and unfortunately that is still happening. Stanley is a problem. stella is kind of dumb (pregnancy brain i guess) . i will watch the rest tomorrow. i been working all day. and that guy that keep giving DuBois a cigarettes freak me out for some reason.
I yell.. STELLA at the beer fridge in the groceries store....then i grab some STELLA'S... And say
Don't ever leave me...© hawlco.
Smithers! Smitheeeeeeeeers!!!!!
The man never needed to act again after this scene.
🥰😍🥰
Family guy too funny 😭😭😭
JRPGs be like... "Let's recreate this scene!"
name two
Seinfeld brought me here lol
Jacob Elordi, family? 144 ✨ Resurrected.
He took too many muscle relaxants
He actually dealt with anxiety which was kind of a taboo to admit for men back then.
@@johns8596 That was not taboo, there was not many reasons to be anxiety ridden and depressed but every man showed it.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar There weren't many reasons. What are even talking about? Yeah if a man did look for help they would be thrown some valium maybe. Many men still have a problem admitting it mental health issues and seeking help.
Or speaking with a therapist.
Its becoming more common but still not enough.
@@johns8596 Only a bully lets someone feel contained, not the attributing society. Same with segregation at the time in southern states.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar ok social norms dont exist.
It was societal norms that formed the laws that had to be changed during segregation.
As if racism wasnt an example of society attributing lol.
And then society changed somewhat.
And so did the laws.
Those laws weren't just going to be changed society was the bully.
That had to be stood up and told no.
Smh.
Smitheers!

Who came here from Modern Family? 😂
Explain to me why this is so iconic. Did people in the 50s never see a shirtless guy screaming outside a window before?
Passion and love, makes people think about their own love or wish for what they had (maybe not by the end)
People in the 50's never saw that mixture of masculine machismo and broken sensitivity before.
The lot of actors that came before were great.
But he was different.
@@johns8596You should write if you don't already...
@@user-ez6nz2ck8d Thank you, why would you say that? Interesting, I have in various different mediums. Poetry, prose. Screenwriting, songwriting. Etc.
@@user-ez6nz2ck8d Its true I do.
But why would you say that? Based on a single comment.
Interesting.
Lorelai Gilmore brought me here 😭
Is it just me, or was Kim Hunter more attractive as a chimp?
Dr. Zira!
If youre just finding this because of a cartoon or another show. You probably dont watch many old movies.
You should.
Hey Google! Who is Saint Stella?
Stella Maris - Star of the Sea - The Maritime Review
Google says: The Roman Catholic Church commemorates worldwide the Feast of Stella Maris every September 27th of the year. Mary, the Stella Maris, is the venerated guide and protector of seafarers. She is the Patron Saint of the Apostleship of the Sea (AoS), an official Apostolate of the Catholic order founded in Glasgow, Scotland. Nov 16, 2018
Was he obsessed with her or something?
Yea you’re supposed to hate the other woman protagonist. She’s a spoiled southern belle who dosent realise she’s past her prime. A spinster if you will
Other than Brando , their is a difference of acting in those days and the last several decades. I don't know what it is. Maybe in those days acting seemed forced , unconvincing, and almost monotone?.
Why am living in this period of time ….
I mean, it's not like you can't still watch old movies.
Are you stupid ?
I don't think she was acting.
Smithers!!!!!! Smithers!!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱
All I hear is MAAAAAAAAARGE
Cam did it better
This is too real
Stella mid af
Stella's mid af tho
Cam from Modern Family did it better
He coulda done a lot better than her.
Smithersss!!!! Smitherrsssss!!!!
