This is JUST WONDERFUL Drew. Thank you for all the work you put into this. I would love to see a video on how to add more width, and depth to your front-of-house and live stream sound compared to feeling like everything is just coming from the front. I know panning is a good way. Like a video on layering the mix.. the correct way! Thank you AGAIN!
I can’t answer for drew, but in our case, using an X32 i have to mix in the stereo reverbs and delays to stereo buses before going to a matrix for broadcast. So many folks miss that and Drew should do a video to show how to do this for basic mixers. Here he has a lot of width with Avid’s FXs available. I wish I had all that available for my X32.
@@thebalance7465 What I do is mix into bus 13-16, with 13,14 being reverbs, 15 drum reverb and 16 stereo delay. Take the FX returns and "Send" back to say a stereo bus pair. I will usually push 13/14 returns into Vox stereo bus (two buses) 15 into drum stereo bu and 16 into Vox as well. Then I put all my stereo buses into Matrix 1,2 for broadcast. This is essentially something that could be done easily if you don't use buses for stage mixes (wedges or IEMs). We use an X32 rack for IEMs - so we have all the buses available to the FoH X32 to mix-up the broadcast - but as long as you have one two-channel pair to mix into for broadcast is enough, you just don't have all the control of the multiple stereo buses that you could with a bunch of free busses. I do: Bus 1-2 for Crowd Mics, 3-4 for Vox, 5-6 for Keys, 7-8 for guitar, 9-10 for drums, 11 for bass, 12 for speaker mics (pastors, etc) to boost 10dB on them with the compressor make-up gain.
Awesome video and great mix. The annotations were really useful. Glad to see the S6L out in the wild in a church. I think an interesting video would be your approach to snapshots. What do automate? What do you include and what do you safe?
Hey Drew, I know I'm a year late on this video, but there are quite a few things that you're doing here that could easily be automated with the desks built in Events. Channel meters can be a trigger for fader levels, as can individual faders, so for example, you can dip the mids in one of the EG's and the keys when you push say, EG1 by 3dB, and have it all go back as you move the fader back to Unity. There is also a way to save monitor mixes for the individual musicians as Momentary Snapshots, so as you have different people on platform, you've already got their particular IEM mix in the Show File. Sounds really good, way to go!
Love your content and especially your approach to the sonic appearance of the show. Unfortunately, here in Germany, we don’t have any sermons like this. No music, no entertainment, a pastor’s speaking over an inaudible sound equipment. It’s a shame, but as the calvinists people here think, fun is from the devil. Great work man. I love the fat drum sound. It’s hard sometimes to draw a line when it becomes too much verb but I liked it. It seemed logical and understandable to me what you’ve built up. As we don’t have programs like these in our churches in Europe, we wouldn’t have any money, not even close to that, to fund an Avid console. I’m equipping a club house (25 concerts/ year) at the moment and think about updating console there. Until now I’m working there w my M32 w SoundGrid, which I’m setting up and dismantling every time. Can you suggest the Avid or is it a bit overdosed. We have always an international and interesting high profile line up, but is hard work to keep it profitable running. Great videos, mate. You are the reason I’ve bought my M32. You should be rewarded by Uli Behringer. Whenever you’re in Germany, let me know and feel welcome. 🙏🏽 Peace and love
What would using Scenes or Snippets on the X32 look like if trying to recreate what you did here? We typically just use Scenes to save overall band changes from week to week, but I'm pretty sure we could use it for snapshots like you're using here, but I'm guessing without the crossover between scenes. I'm not sure when to use Snippets and when they would make sense. I would definitely like to see more on the behind the scenes of setting these up and everything you have to be mindful of and careful of, especially on the X32. Thanks for all your work and insight.
Hi Drew, I have a question. What can I do in a church where there are 2 vocalists, and a guitar + piano setup, so that i dont have dry voices on the vocalists ? I am using a M32 and I'd love to learn how to apply some effects or have their vocies sound better if possible.
Hey Drew Brashler i realy want to master the X/M32 Consoles and i would love to know more about the fx and actually here them in action. But im not able to figure out myself which effect to use best in which scenario and also what fx to pick because you only have 4 returns and 4 inserts so resources are very limited and i wanna be able to pick the right FX Set and be able to use them properly. So can you maybe start some new tutorials for the most important (best case would be all) Effects and show when and how to use them and explain why you should pick an effect as an insert or as a return fx. Thanks for all the great and helpfull videos and hopefully you can help me/us out on the effects bcs i honestly think that once you ve understand the fx rack and are able to use it, the x/m32 consoles are a lot more powerfull.
Do you write your snapshots during a practice time or refine them with track playback between practice and service? How long of a time do you prep the snapshots and mix before Sunday? Paid gig or volunteer?
do you run stereo for the main PA or LCR with center vocal fill or just mono and the pan just being for the stream my church back in Texas when we got the qu-32 I set it up for stereo
Great mixing and it must be fun to be able to do it on that kind of bored but since when do God and churches need almost a $60,000 soundboard, Come on congregation keep on ponying up
Awesome insight once again Drew. Noobs like me have lots to learn but we are grateful you make the journey easier for us. God bless you.

@@johnmcvicker6728 I use the X 32 too. And I feel this may be the missing piece I have been looking for. Thank you and appreciate your reply.

Amazing sound!
Wow!! So amazing to see this!! Thank you so much!!
Amazing video as always 🥰
Great vid Drew, greetings from Costa Rica.
Big step up from x32 world both in price but also mix audio quality. Great mix!
would be cool to get a copy of the show file to see the routing and setup
Amazing!

Select ur effects button and press sends on fader and then turn up ur volcals then press sends on fader again to get back to main mix
do you mix with headphones or with the PA ??? sounds amazing ... would you share the page of that church ?
Never too much tambourine, Drew 🤪🤪🤪
isnt this the 24D not the 32D?
AMAZING Drew! What verb are you using for Vox? Also Delay? Thanks.
What happened to the Behringer ? 😄

What delay is this

Awesome video. Would love to maybe have you verbally explain the mix. Maybe show the mix without explanation and then again with explanation.
what happened to the Wing And the x32 ?
What kind of FX do you use on the vocals and how long is the decay?
Might be tape delay / hall
Why most channels are clipping
Is that mixer really $80k?
More then 80k with the stage boxes…
Great mixing and it must be fun to be able to do it on that kind of bored but since when do God and churches need almost a $60,000 soundboard, Come on congregation keep on ponying up
