This is all information I already learned from Dr Johnson. I'm glad the word is finally getting out. I have been telling everybody on the low carb channels about Dr Johnson, fructose and uric acid myself for years, but nobody listens to a word I say...thanks for spreading the knowledge, Dr. Perlmutter!

I'm in my 20s with a uric acid level of 14. Let me tell you, it's hard to live the life you want. I only walk, I can't run because my got flares up over minor injuries. You're the doctor for me.

I thought I was loosing weight by keeping insulin low, staying away from carbs and sugar, only eating whole food (PHD).

Funnily enough, the only times my uric acid is elevated beyond normal range is when I am in the middle or just out of an extended fast (48 hours), two questions, 1- Why is this? 2- Is it harmful to organs like kidney or the body as a whole?

I've always have my uric acid in the upper limit (7,2 mg/dl according to my lab satandards), being my BMI around 27,5. Three years ago I started a low carb diet full of purines (sardines, mackarel, salmon, cod liver, plain beef liver, spinach, tomatoes...) and my last bloodwork, wich I hoped good except for my uric acid turned out to be espectacular since it was 5,0 mg/dl. Now my BMI is around 23,5.
Since, as I've said, my diet is full of purine sources, I tend to think that it is the BMI (or the things involved in lowering it) wich influences the uric acid numbers and not the other way around

Great information! Dr could you do some study about the link between Moringa leaves and the lowering of uric acid? It worked for me sometimes back when I was tested with high uric acid. Thank you.

I have a question, is uric acid stored in the fat of the body and does fasting cause a rush of uric acid to be released from body fat elevating uric acid in the body?

Would uric acid be more of a problem with having just one kidney?

My father has gout, my mother has diabetes. My BMI is high, although not obese. I have started feeling so much joint pain and stiffness. My uric acid is 7.2 as well as elevated eosinophils which indicates inflammation. I exercise daily and am following a macros diet which encourages lots of veggies and lean proteins. I guess my question is... Because both parents are predisposed to these metabolic issues am I destined for always having elevated uric acid.

Look into high oxalate foods. That is what caused decades of fibromyalgia for me. When I cut out the spinach, almonds products, dark chocolate, and black tea decades of pain went away. Sally Norton is an excellent resource.

Correct, I am promoting the science at the core of my new book, Drop Acid. Making no effort to hide that either. I am also freely sharing some of that science in this and other videos.

This is a pretty idiotic comment. Do you think people shouldn't write books? OR do you expect people to work hundreds of hours without pay? What have you done to help out humanity?

Change doctor. My doctor recently pointed out that my uric acid is elevated and how it is most likely leading causing so many medical issues at my age (I’m in my 30s). I’m just learning about a whole different science that I wasn’t aware existed, hence why I’m watching this video.
