You notice that some of them fly trap plants are like 20x bigger? Seems like a lot of terrain assets are bigger now. And there are jungles. I was on a swamp planet so thick I had a hard time getting around. It was awesome.

@@ItssVenom Yes, but living ships take different parts, and they have been overlooked in past updates when new tech was added. So it's nice to be included. Note the saline carapace gets its own separate mention in the patch notes.
Their hitboxes also seem to be much smaller too. Like you really have to try and give it a hug before it attacks you whereas before it felt like they could attack you from 5 million kilometers away lol.
I'm very glad my perfect home planet was untouched with the update, I was expecting to load in and it had turned into a nuclear apocalypse but no! Only change I can find is that the sky is pink now lol
they made my settlement world have a super ironic name, used to be a dusty desert wasteland but now it's green with some interesting alien fauna and flora. guess the years and years of farms and my settlement upgrades that were starting to terraform. that's at least my explanation to not be mad at hello games.
I think that the water landings are overlooked too. You get waves, clouds, and an expedition, but I forgot that it had water landings now. If course if I ever had a major underwater base I would remember though. I just thought it was hilarious I got excited about beetle diversity... I was excited about everything in the update though, it was really fun to try.
I absolutely love the water landings. I put them on all my ships as soon as I figured out how to. It makes ocean exploration just so much easier. Now if only they’d update oceans with more variety I’d be a very happy camper
@@frankalphonso268when I first heard about the water landings the first thing coming to mind was when I used the nautilus to find a sunken object. It will be very good for ocean exploration. I think that we do need smaller structures but more common. It's just the lack of buildings makes the game look less diverse, and that's once of the reason Minecraft is good too, there's almost always an interesting and unique structure nearby.
As a new player without even a bolt caster installed, I accidentally landed right on top of the many mouths thing. Shit myself, ran in a panicked circle then immediately jumped back into my ship, flew back into space and renamed the planet 'Farkdisplace'. This game is awesome.
I have no idea if it's *new* new, but I did have an experience on an Extreme Weather planet that I've never seen before: I noticed, despite the extreme weather, there were no storm crystals in the planet, but whatever, I continued on with my day exploring. A storm started rolling in and the usual lighting at the edge of the horizon flashed and I thought to myself "wouldn't it be neat if lightning actually struck nearby instead of out at the edges?" And I kid you not a minute or two later it did. A lot of it. There were circles on the ground warning where it would strike, and some of the bolts spawned Storm Crystals that tumbled loosely down the hill I was on
I had a similar situation recently on a tropical planet w/ extreme weather. Every 5-7 mins there's a super heated storm and in one of them, mid storm I got a notification of extreme lightning. Then I was dodging massive lightning bolts and they produced some storm crystals as they struck the ground. It was awesome. I'm coming back to the game after a few years so also no idea if this is new but it was wild.
Weather events like this have been in the game for a while, but these events are really rare. I’ve experienced weather events such as tornadoes, lightning storms, and gravitational storms. There are also meteor showers that happen anytime and im not talking about when you just see meteor fall in the distance, but i mean these meteors will fall around you.
I was on a planet with "extreme wind bursts" and I went to jetpack ahead and the wind blew me way up into the air for an extended amount of time. I have never seen this before the update.
The updates have not only revived my interest in the game but I have actually decided to start fresh from the beginning. While I love all the work and updates I'd still love to see an option to purchase or build boats from speed boats all the way to a luxury yacht. I love building by the water and creating piers with boats would be awesome. Especially if we can do a cruise ship too.
Double storm shenanigans are a thing now. Storms. I was stuck in a toxic superstorm, only to get swept up by a tornado caused by a wind storm. I got yeeted into orbit and loved it 👍🏽
Seems like landing in a space station now has a chance to give you an "upfront" parking spot, where before it was always one of the furthest away. Small, but appreciated change!

I landed at an abandoned building in a storm. The doors were destroyed, so I ran inside. While looting, wind from the storm whipped through the building and launched me a solid 100u from the building. If that ain't new, it is to me.
The increased resources also means that any runaway mold farm that you have has gotten bigger. Mine went from nine to about 15 and they got bigger. My yield on that farm is now a little over 4000 nanites and it was 2500.

I just just started a week or so ago, like literally a day after the new update. There's just so... so much to learn... 😅 but I've got an A class royal omnitool and a sentinal ship, so I'm feeling a little better.
The seeing the “hungering tendrils” boss battle text put a chill down my spine. If these are tendrils, then that implies there is a larger body that they are a part of.

It's too bad the system is desolate besides a couple planets abd moons with high sentinal security.
big thing to note about the patch about the rare collectibles showing up more often on planets. I can indeed confirm theyre found more often BUT (and this is a big but) they are in much lesser quantity. For example, before the update, I had a planet that had really good spawns of Curious Deposits and Floating Crystals. Usually each patch of them that I did come across ended up having 6+ individual clumps that ended up being very profitable and exciting for me to find, especially with how often they were on this planet. Now if I find a patch of anything it generally spawns up to a max of 4. Im not sure if this is different on other planets but so far this has been the case for 2 of mine that I frequent for my crafting and settlements. The big takeaway from this for me is that it was better for me to randomly come across one or two patches of really dense collectibles, but now I have to cover more ground and spend more time on a planet to find roughly the same haul as before. As of my current place in the game I rarely spend more than a few minutes per planet unless its for a mission.
There are biomes that also reflect the most popular RPG's such as Elden Ring. I've discovered former volcanic planets, scorched worlds and "incandescent" hot planets that resemble what looks like the Shattered Realms in the Lands Between. These new planets just scream Elden Ring with the rock formations, terrain and glowing foliage. I'm really into exploring every planet I come across because of this.
Love this game, it’s so relaxing to just do what you want in this game and explore, no pressure just chilling Waiting for the world part 2 wonder what they will do next
When I came back to the game on Sunday when I bought it on sale on steam, since stopped playing in 2022, after I started a new character the planet I spawned on, had the ancient bones/fossils and I was able to make 4mil in 20 min lol Your videos have been really helpful and cool though and I've got a whole load of things I want to do, thank you man
i found one of those wrecked ships a few days ago and it made me very happy to see it, wasnt even aware those could naturally spawn until that point so it was a cool surprise. ive always wanted more decorative enviromental structures/ruins/wrecks that blend in better with the environment so it was nice to see. hoping my theory for worlds part 3 overhauling structures is correct also in terms of the new terrain, while i love em a lot i feel it adds to the predictability of planets. if you see old style terrain, you get a pre worlds biome, if you see new terrain its a worlds biome. i kinda get it but i also wish there was some mixing and matching with terrain styles
I’ve definitely seen more hazardous meteor showers occur on toxic planets, which kinda makes a lot of sense. If a planet’s atmosphere layers become damaged pollution or smog, more things from space such as meteors and solar flares are able to pass through. Also, I’ve seen some planets have at least TWO types of weather conditions instead of one. Found a tropical planet that produces regular rainfall that’s safe to touch (you don’t really get weather update from your HUD, it just happens at random), but also has scalding rainfall that’s not safe. Feels like the first step to planets feeling less uniform with what to expect.
Great video! So many small, yet awesome, additions came to the game with Part I, along with the monumental changes to the planets and water. One thing I am disappointed with (and it hasn't been overlooked, at least) is the lack of collision for many of the new floating islands on the revamped lush planets. Really hoping that it is a bug, and that HG are already working on making each island land-able.
Just got back into the game couple days ago, I saw a tornado on a very stormy planet, pretty nest not sure if that was new or not, but all around the planets seem more interesting.
Funny how they increased the chance for planetary loot yet in the expedition's starter area I haven't found ONE planet with salvaged data, had to travel 3,8 millian LY with black holes to find one
that first glitch actually fixable if you warp to other system while it happen, yes you can still open galaxy map and warp in that glitch state, and call nexus again in other system
I landed on a planet in the middle of an ice storm/blizzard and visibility was so bad i almost crashed into the ground. 😂 This isn't a complaint, it's a plus, really immersive! 👍👍
I had a settlement I founded on a beautiful red lush planet, I even named all the planets in the system, but when worlds came out IT TURNED INTO A GOD DAMM SWAMP WORLD WITH THE FLYING MEAT PANCAKES
As a Dune fan, I want a desert planet with sandstorms and huge worms. I have seen some that felt pretty close. One also had dungbeetles as big as large commercial jet.
Maybe you could do it' NO MAN'S SKY E3 2014 and 2015 trailers' VS. No man's Sky after World's update ' In all reality is No man's Sky surpassed' Reach what was promised?
I was pretty blown away by how far away things render now. I can see my base from pretty high up, where before it was still loading in when I landed. Thats too bad they patched out the wormskin folios and stuff. I thought it was cool to occasionally get an expedition drop.
None of us asked for No Man's Sky to become like this. All we wanted was multi-player and better graphics. They gave us a whole new game that's virtually unrecognizable from what we got back in 2016. The NMS from 2016 feels like a Mandala Effect.
New textures for water and clouds are cool, but what about a larger variety (and more realistic), fauna sfx? There seems to be about 23 "beeps and boops" for every single creature on every planet, in every system. Breaching aquatic animals would be cool as well.
Rancid flesh currently only has one singular recipe and that’s just cooking it, atm, keep checking the No Man’s Sky assistant for more updates after the next patch.
COOL Video Dude... I haven't played in a couple of month's (i'm on x-box one) glad to see the 'skylight' window update!... I'd love to see an update that let you sit-down, at any, and 'ALL' chairs/benches in the game! as people know most chairs just spin-round when you interact with them, so annoying!
One thing I noticed that's not in the patch notes is targets in space now display "Out of range". Others have also pointed out how great it is to now enter space stations, it's so much faster and smoother than ever. Also gravity storms now look INSANE. They completely warp the screen and rocks start flying into the air, I'm surprised they weren't mentioned by HG at all.
I'm pretty sure the "out of range" notice was already in the game for distant targets. Space station docking is definitely much faster. I like it! I'm on the fence with gravity storms. On one hand, they look very sci-fi and anomalous. On the other hand, they are a bit much. lol I do think they're an improvement though! I like how the orbs actually illuminate their surroundings. Just showing off the new lighting tech. lol Thanks for watching!
Been playing it on Switch and since the update, it's been running much smoother Update: I started a new save file for the full experience. I've gotten to the part in the story where you have to do all that communication tower shit with Artemis and the game has crashed two times
The very first planet I put a base on turned into a planet with the new floating islands. And that planet, obviously, is lush, but it also is freezing at night. I’ve never seen that before. And I haven’t seen it anywhere else except for that one planet yet
Kanaju before the first day patch on the worlds pt. 1 update i was charging a portal and found a PURPLE STELLAR METAL. I sent a bug report to hello games and they fixed it. Please make a video covering the topic of a purple stellar metal
TOP overlooked thing in Worlds.. The Music!! even the log-in screen has epic music, and the background has more music (unless I'm on crack and imagining things)
Previously only the landing pads in your mothership would actually spin. But now they do in stations and placed pads as well. Still waiting on the anomoly's ones to spin.
My main planet went from a bright, generic desert planet to a darker, volcanic wasteland with a smoke choked atmosphere where i occasionally have to deal with pyroclastic rock fall. It's much more interesting now.
2 things i never noticed prior to the update was a planet that never actually turned night, and I dont know if its any other resource, but i found a Pyrite resource that went super deep, I had to recharge my beam a few times to get it all!
Idk if this is new or not, but yesterday I learned that different sectors on a planet have different terrain generation. I live on a paradise planet and went from my base to the north pole in a bike and any time I entered a new sector, the terrain changed from hilly, to planes, mountainous, and watery. It was really interesting and made me appreciate the variety
Despite the typical visual bugs usually present whenever a new update releases, I'm fairly impressed with the improvements Hello Games made to NMS' procedural generation. I'm even more interested to see what's in store with Part 2.
Am I the only one who notices that the PS5 overheats when I launch NMS 5.0? I've never heard my console make so much noise, specifically in space stations and in certain detailed environments, which is not at all the case for other graphics-intensive games.
I just started playing for the first time, and honestly it feels like there is too much loot on planets. Every planet I've been too just feels like a massive music festival was held there the day before.
It's kind of an addendum to water but noticing flowing water on the floating islands is the big one for me since we've never seen anything like that until now in NMS. Definitely tells us alot about what light no fire could be like
Hey Kan, good to see you. Nice computer specs, mine’s a RTX 4090, no TI, due to time constraints preventing me from getting the TI version of the 4090. Anyways, just finished the expedition, nice, but not my favorite, as my favorite type of expedition is one without so much combat. Perhaps we’ll get another freighter expedition soon, that would be preferable to me. Anyways, I gotta go, I’m going to spend some time down at Praxeum II, siting on the edge of my new dock, occasionally going inside my little beach hut when it storms, just watching the new waves roll on by. And to those still using a Windows 7 to play No Man’s Sky….. you’re doomed, or, at least, your computer is.
i wish in the next update, they add villages on the planets, different civilizations citizens doing somethings like fighting or mining or building and they need to talk since we have the universal translator better than word written on the screen. it is huge i know but the game will be so alive than ever before
Worlds gives but also takes away. My primary home planet changed from a green earth-like paradise to a brown swamp. A Euclid system I found with 3x paradise planets now has only two; where they were bright green they're now red or pink. Nearly all the unique biomes I found have changed to something else, and usually lesser, than they were.
Good thing I watched the video. I'm subscribed to Hello Games, but they haven't made a video abour the liquidators expedition so I didn't know about it. 😕
I was able to rename systems and planets that i had uploaded but not renamed ! Maybe a bug with the online discovery system made it so you weren't able to do it?
It might have been. The servers were wonky in the first few days. Some of my discoveries were also showing the wrong names and have since returned to normal. So it may have been a server issue. I'll try again this week! Thanks for watching.
I found myself on an extreme planet with super cells. The wind picked me up, whirled me round and spit me out. I had no control whatsoever and received damage. I thought this was common but so far I only found that one planet.

also in terms of the new terrain, while i love em a lot i feel it adds to the predictability of planets. if you see old style terrain, you get a pre worlds biome, if you see new terrain its a worlds biome. i kinda get it but i also wish there was some mixing and matching with terrain styles
That last dance is the jerk lol. Last 2000’s nostalgia
It's a shuffle. Jerks are reverse and kick out. Shuffles maximize foot placement on or near the ground to create the sliding/floating illusion.
Yeah what queso said
The game has improved performance massively in my laptop with better graphics than before
Great video, thanks for uploading! Subscribed. 😊
I landed on a frozen planet with winds so strong it picked me up like a tornado/whirlwind and messed me up! Super cool
I also noticed that while docking it doesn't instantly slow you down, so you can land much faster
that first glitch actually fixable if you warp to other system while it happen, yes you can still open galaxy map and warp in that glitch state, and call nexus again in other system
I landed on a planet in the middle of an ice storm/blizzard and visibility was so bad i almost crashed into the ground. 😂
This isn't a complaint, it's a plus, really immersive! 👍👍
After the 5.0 reset, my settlement became a snowy world. So I renamed it Donner Pass Family Fun Center. But we've always been able to do that.
Maybe you could do it'
NO MAN'S SKY E3 2014 and 2015 trailers'
VS.
No man's Sky after World's update '
In all reality is No man's Sky surpassed' Reach what was promised?
I was pretty blown away by how far away things render now. I can see my base from pretty high up, where before it was still loading in when I landed.
Thats too bad they patched out the wormskin folios and stuff. I thought it was cool to occasionally get an expedition drop.
None of us asked for No Man's Sky to become like this. All we wanted was multi-player and better graphics.
They gave us a whole new game that's virtually unrecognizable from what we got back in 2016. The NMS from 2016 feels like a Mandala Effect.
2:13 little tip, I’ve had this happen once but was able to get out of it by warping to a new system
I'd love to see an update that let you sit-down,
at any, and 'ALL' chairs/benches in the game! as people know most chairs just spin-round when you interact with them, so annoying!
Been playing it on Switch and since the update, it's been running much smoother
Update: I started a new save file for the full experience.
Ooh I would love the coords to that dark planet
Something that may be overlooked for new players is how vastly improved the game is compared to the launch version.
If you glitch while trying to land in the anomaly you can use your emergency warp drive to get out :)
I love the part where the game turns into starship troopers when big bug get shooted
lol I just rewatched that movie this past weekend. I'm so glad we have giant bugs in NMS now. 🐜 Thanks for watching!
Kanaju before the first day patch on the worlds pt. 1 update i was charging a portal and found a PURPLE STELLAR METAL. I sent a bug report to hello games and they fixed it. Please make a video covering the topic of a purple stellar metal
This is my first time on your channel, but that PBS intro killed me 🤣
Well I was going to start a worm cult based on those giant worms but now I don't need to.
Every planet I've been too just feels like a massive music festival was held there the day before.
maybe this was already pre-5.0 but whilst mining asteroids i noticed other ships doing the same, which is great for immersion.
It's kind of an addendum to water but noticing flowing water on the floating islands is the big one for me since we've never seen anything like that until now in NMS. Definitely tells us alot about what light no fire could be like
Following cus you seem like a good source of info and am a new player, cool to see how far the game has come
Hey Kan, good to see you.
I renamed the planet where you get the living ship

I think NMS is finally ready for a play through with the fam
great video man! You saying that there are other parts of this series made me look forward to your upcoming videos
i wish in the next update, they add villages on the planets, different civilizations citizens doing somethings like fighting or mining or building and they need to talk since we have the universal translator better than word written on the screen. it is huge i know but the game will be so alive than ever before
Sentials now come in black, before the patch, the closet you could get was purple with some parts defaulting to black.
Nice for pointing these things out...
Something I noticed in anomaly you even though flamethrower is locked for community event you can purchase minotaur flamethrower upgrade blueprints .
More power to you my friend!! Good content and fun!!! I want to ask you an in game question. If I put my runway mould in my refiner in the freighter and leave why do i lose my nanites??
my game has worked perfectly, so wondered why yours was struggling, then 10 seconds later you say you're using a laptop and I'm like Ooooooo
