Honestly this case should have never been brought. I know some people are hurt because they don't like Alec's politics but I don't care if it was him or Clint Eastwood (he's a conservative Republican) the reason why studios hire firearms experts to check the weapon before handing it to the actor is because THEY ARE ACTORS. Similar on set accidents never resulted in the actor being charged so why now? To make headlines and put a notch on the prosecutors belt. That's not justice

Having live rounds on a movie set is crazy. Brandon Lee was killed with a live round on the set. The armory person is the safety person. Are actors required to empty magazines or check every bullet to make sure it’s a blank vs the real thing when a weapon is handed to them for a scene? Y

It would be chaos if actors were required to check their own weapons and determine a dummy round from a blank or live round. Picture Saving Private Ryan, there were probably 10 different types of German and American pistols, rifles, submachine guns and machine guns on that set. Not to mention the flame throwers and bazookas. That protocol would cause more accidents.

This is actually like a movie, where the actors are filming a shootout with guns and a deranged person secretly switches blanks for real ammo. Not securing the guns, the ammo, and allowing there to be real bullets anywhere near the set is the biggest reason why this happened.

As an actor, Baldwin was the victim of an unsafe set, and was given a gun loaded with real bullets that should not have been anywhere on that location. He had a substandard weapons master who was burdened with additional duties she should not have had to do other than just focus on gun safety.
As a producer on the film Baldwin is completely responsible for creating an unsafe film set, with a distracted, rookie weapons master who should have been fired after the two accidental discharges of weapons that occurred on that production before the fatal shooting.
