we are both lucky - i met them through Dorothy Cole who worked at Convent Garden - Fonteyn looked right into my eyes when i spoke - and was so attentive to me - i was so humbled that she would be so empathetic to someone she did not at all know
I've seen a still shot of Fonteyn in that white practice outfit, smiling deeply, almost laughing, but didn't know when it was taken. It was then when Petit lay down behind Nureyev and Nureyev raised an eyebrow in surprise. A funny moment! Thanks for sharing this!
Que gracioso Rudolf cuando se pone Roland detrás de él! ¡ siempre pensando en lo suyo! Me encantaría ver este ballet, pero no lo he podido conseguir....¡una pena!
hey! yes there is: Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nureyev - 'Lucifer' [Chore: Martha Graham] vimeo.com/349317757 The ballet was created by Martha Graham for a gala at the Uris Theatre in New York on the 21st June 1975 for the Martha Graham Dance Company. i was a super (an extra) for swan lake when fonteyn/nureyev danced in houston tx.....will never forget his wild thick legs ! other supers said stand clear of him, he is unpredictable when dancing....
@@MissPerriwinkle Nureyev. Was on the short side, too. Wasn't he??? Kind of a "small framed guy"? In person?? Was just as handsome in person,. As his pictures?
@@kaythomas8521he was a slight figure about 5ft 8 of pure muscle. Not a pinch of fat on him. He was even more gorgeous up close in person. The most beautiful man I have ever seen.
@@kaythomas8521 Please don’t delete it. It’s a lovely comment. I think he would have been delighted that you find him gorgeous. It would have made him smile. And he had the best smile. As someone else said recently, he had a smile “like Christmas morning”.
@@katherinefarrell8068 yea. Well. After I read somewhere that he didn't like women (sexually). And found them "stupid". Why should I flatter him. What an insult!;!
I'm so lucky to have met them. Fonteyn was tiny, and incredibly beautiful. She just glowed. Nureyev was really, really, funny!
