my friend removed the rear tire and now the tire turns stiffly, i need to see the arrangement of the wheel spacers and bearings, not shopping visits and trivia, i need technical information. OK, I just spotted my mistake putting the spacers back on the wrong sides good image quality. AND THANKS.
I’m a new KRL owner. Been watching various tire change videos trying to determine if I want to tackle this or have someone else do it. I know there is value in doing this but man, what a lot of work. On another note, I’m curious about all your cases and rack setups. Are those pelican cases? Sizes, types etc. Thanks for sharing this video!
either talc, or dish washing liquid, which doubles as soap if you get to have a wash anywhere.. I think on this one I just used a bit of soap/water and a shaving brush.
Still necessary. My friend just bought a 2013 with rebuilt engine at 17,000 km due to doohickey failure. I did my doo also at 17,000 km on my 2014 klr and the spring was loose with zéro tension in it. An absolute must for all klr.
ConditionRed nothing new as far as I know. Doing the doo is à must for all klr. Look at the vidéo séries, 4 if I remembrer well, of souperdoo. They are great showing how to do it. I used his videos and the shop manual and it was an easy and fun job.
Had to dislike due to bad editing. The unimportant things like buying a tire, removing tools and removing the wheel are in agonizing real time, while the important stuff like actually changing the tire is high speed so you can't see the finer points.
hahaha. OK. It took a fait bit to get it changed.. Its youtube. I just throw up things that I do. Others like yourself can judge to if they want to watch or not.. Cheers for taking time to comment. I will take it on board.
JJ I have to agree. As someone with no motorcycle tire changing experience I had no idea what was going on because it was either sped up or wasn't explained.
Newbie DualSport and 1st time KLR owner..... Really great vid/Info!
super cool video keep them coming
Nice setup 👍
Ok... i'll Keep going to the motorcyclr shop.
Good idea, but the dont have them out in the outback :)
I imagine a 3 dollar C clamp would achieve the same thing as far as breaking the bead
Chris Ramos or just deflate tire and ride it around the yard easy like.

Awesome video, perfect for new riders like myself. What you did with the kickstand, was that just to break the bead? Could you have done it otherwise?
Mike Riddle yes just to break the bead. You can sometimes do it with your foot but sometimes they are impossible. Depends on the tyre.
Try using the spoon shaped tires iron by Motion Pro and use some water soluble lubricant around the bead.
Do the rim protectors affect installation? Most of my rims are somewhat scratched anyway.
They make it a little harder to get the leavers over the edge. But stop the gouges.
Dude wrap your tools in a bit of canvas . You'll be able to pull them all out of that tube easier !
We used to just beat it with a 20 lb mall when changing tires on our log trucks.
Changing a tube out in the field, sure, but if given the option, I'll pay the shop to install the tire for me.
I probably end up dying in the outback :/

Newbie here I have a tube with two nuts. Should I use one nut on the inside of the rim and one on the outside? I plan on using rimlocks too.
Nothinging inside the rim.. most people leave them both lose to stop the tube tearing when the tire pressure is low.
What are you using for lube to help the tire on the rim ?
either talc, or dish washing liquid, which doubles as soap if you get to have a wash anywhere.. I think on this one I just used a bit of soap/water and a shaving brush.
Are the rim savers necessary for the install?
ConditionRed No, but being painted black I was trying to stop gouges and scratches. Now I probably wouldn’t worried about it.
What are those yellow pads called? And your tires look fine, why did you change them
Rim Protectors off ebay.. I changed it as I was going on a 4000Kms trip across the desert and didnt want to do it on the road.
Should have removed the boxes while working on the bike.
he gave up on the rim protectors and his tire fell off 2 blocks down the road
Have you done your doohickey or you think that's unnecessary for new models
I havent, I am "told" it isnt necessary for the newer models, but time will tell I guess.

Sylvain Bélanger what about for a 2017 model?

@Mike Kannard someone having a bad day?
how long are yours lasting mine only lasted 2000
Mix of tar, gravel and off road. Around 6000 kms.
@@jjsadv the one they gave me stock didn't last very good what brand are you using
@@spencershaw2407 I usually use Dunlop 606's but I have found the similar Pirelli MT21 around the same
You skipped too much at the start
Did that when I was 16. Now that I am 70. No thank you.
Lol no one likes doing it but i ride in some pretty remote areas here in Canada and some times its necessary..
What are you doing? those tires are good for at least a few thousand more miles!
I was about to go deep into the Australian desert. Far more than 1000 miles.
@@jjsadv why?is there diamonds out there or something?
@@billbonu1639 Its adventure riding. Exploring remote areas and pushing your limits. One of the many reasons we do it.
@@jjsadv adventure riding? kinda like Indiana Jones?
Fast forward was the only helpful feature here.
WATER is FUEL and yet you took the time to comment. Cheers :).
you really think i want to see you shop???
