    Also available review (with better quality!) from the Les Paul Prophecy here: ua-cam.com/video/oPWOz_MBLnQ/v-deo.html

    The battery compartment is easily opened by sliding the tab upward or toward the neck, the cover pops right open! You had your thumb on the compartment cover so when the tab was moved forward you were holding the cover down. No need to take the screws out. Thanks for the video - just received the Tiger Blue SG recently - an exceptional instrument.

    I'm not sure what's wrong with your battery compartment but when I was at Andertons the other week I got to play all four models and all the battery compartments were easy to open. You just slide the latch to the edge. If yours is playing up, you may want to contact epiphone about it :)

      Yeaaa it’s probably too late for that, but it doesn’t annoy me anymore 🤣

    I've just bought this guitar. Beautiful. The only negative thing is that the high e slips off the fret board when doing a pull-off. Do you have the same problem? If so, how do you rectify it?

    • @StringsofRock
      @StringsofRock  3 роки тому +1

      Ohh I know very well your problem, but not with this guitar... That's weird. I don't really think you can make this better. I would just recommend you, if you can maybe go to a store where they have the same guitar and see and you find the same issue. Or maybe you can try some other strings? Cheers and good luck!

    How do you like the pickups? Compared to Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio?

    • @StringsofRock
      @StringsofRock  3 роки тому

      That's a good question... I like pickups like Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio a little better than these Fishman. I think the Fishman sound a little more nasal... but you have the flexibility of playing with the voicing of course. I prefer just more traditional ones :)

      @@StringsofRock Yeah, it's a pitty they don't offer a version with passive pickups for 150,- less.

    If Epiphone want to sell these Prophecy SGs and Flying Vs, they need to put PICKGUARDS on them, and the regular extended 4 push-pull pots that you can find on the Les Paul Prophecy models.
    If they want to go ONE STEP FORWARD into HIGH END guitars, they have to go Stainless Steel Frets. But Epiphone is VERY CONSERVATIVE, so, they prefer to LOOSE market oportunities, than to go the full UPGRADE ROUTE.
    Too bad for them! They'd have just one little step further to go to become UNBEATABLE.

    • @StringsofRock
      @StringsofRock  3 роки тому

      Well about the pickguards, it's probably because they want to make them look more modern... There are also some Gibson Les Pauls without pickguard. Cheers!

      Maybe, but most guitarists I know (and they aren't UA-cam "stars"), greatly prefect the looks of these guitars when they are SEXY and somewhat CLASSIC, and a great deal of them really don't like "satin finishes" (except maybe for the back of the neck).
      There has been quite a "rush" on some ESP/LTD "deluxe" models a few years ago, in the music community around my place ... a LOT of the guys had a LTD 1000 Deluxe (specially the Eclipse ... Les Paul type ... although the Eclipse don't come with pickguards, 'cause the body is too narrow at the waist), just because it looked so freaking cool, sexy and classic with all the "abalone nylon decorations". Sure, it doesn't change much in the way a guitar plays, but, making a guitar look SEXY is always a bonus to ensure sales.
      I have a couple of semi-hollows, and, although most people in the audience don't make a difference between a "cheapo" and an expensive guitar, when I come with Gretsch 2120 JUNIOR, and some other "jazz boxes" (like my great playing and sounding, but SUPER DULL LOOKING satin finish Godin 5th Avenue Kinpin P90s) at a gig, guess which guitar people always look at? :D
      So, it's 4 knobs, gloss finish, and definitely a pickguard. :D
      BE WELL, DUDE!

      @@frankn4skeen I'd agree with you about the stainless steel frets and four push-pulls however, I really like the satin finishes and no pickguard. I think they just look more modern that way and it makes them different from other guitars in their lineup. I was lucky enough to be at Andertons the other week and got to see and play all four of them. We are all entitled to our own opinions though so if you like gloss finishes and pickguards then that's up to you :)
