I think the thing all our futures hinge on is WW3. And from what NATO and Russia say it's going to happen. It's to bad everyone would just refuse to fight in endless wars.
Can I just say that regardless of what you end up doing, for tens of thousands of us, you put Svalbard on the map. You introduced us to this beautiful slice of heaven, a part most of us would not have known of without you and this beautiful channel. You have done more for Svalbard than any chamber of commerce. You, Christoffer and Grimm are a beautiful family and I look forward to your future successes. This channel, with its low key, beautifully edited storytelling sets the bar for this genre on UA-cam
Beautifully said! Since following Cecelia (for some years now) I've had random conversations (while in the USA) with people about Svalbard and only because of Cecelia's channel. I've met I think only 2 people who actually had even heard of Svalbard and one person who had actually lived there for a few months working on a project which blew my mind. Thank you again for your so beautifully expressed comment.
I love the idea of you guys getting property on the mainland. Not only is it smart to buy and renovate while you’re young, but being close to friends and family is super important too. I’ll watch no matter where you live.
I returned from a magical trip to Svalbard recently. From Australia. Literally the opposite end of the earth. I was inspired by you Cecilia. I will never forget it. ❤
Well, sometimes, all I can think of is that there would be no more magical place in the world to spend a childhood than right in your beautiful cabin and your surrounding land!! How incredible to spend days sliding down a hill to the frozen seashore, with a loving lap hound by your side, then climb a ladder up a snow covered hill to a warm fire to warm your hands! All just a “few kilometers” away from Santa, busily working at the North Pole! The incredible beauty there is breathtaking!! And this is only from videos!! I can only imagine what it must be in reality! 🤩 So, when thinking about your future with a family with children, you could offer something immensely magnificent, and loving and unique and oh so beautiful. 💜
Grim barking a warning when you first went down the hill, then sliding down with you when he realized it was OK....no better display ever of "man's best friend!" Good boy Grim!
it's not a warn bark LMAO. it's when he wants to go but feels that he can't but still wants. It's a normal dog behavior more like "bro help me get down" . similar of when you would call your dog is afraid of water and you sit inside water and call them. it has 0 to do with your human-interpretation, not with loyality nor anxious worries but more a call to get him down (you can even see it when she pulled him) but yeah if you don't know anything about dogs.....
@@loftikuss Let's not be too harsh ok? We're all friendly viewers here who enjoy Cecilias videos. I've had dogs all my life and sometimes dogs DO bark as a warning to us. But, in this case I agree, you read Grim's behavior exactly like I did. 👍
I personally watch UA-cam channels because I like the people behind them... not where they live. Svalbard is beautiful, but ultimately you have to make choices for you... not your audience. A Cecilia video is a Cecilia video... no matter where it's filmed. ❤
@@lynns609The whole sea will never freeze, but as shown in the video the water close to the shore can definitely develop an ice coat (from thin slush to actual closed ice) when it's cold enough - but it really does need to be quite cold for a while, because you're right, the sea does move all the time, and the salt also lowers the freezing temperature of the water. Their adorable cabin is right on the "sea", though technically I guess that's a fjord. Anyway, in that shot, all you see is snow and ice. Maybe you're new to the channel and don't know yet where their cabin is, but yes. Also in places near the poles there are ships that have to break through the ice to get to where they need to go. The noise the snow makes is one of my favourite sounds in the whole world. I’ve only spent one winter in the north of Europe many years ago but that sound still brings back fond memories.

The title made me a bit scared but I'm happy to hear that Svalbard will remain your base for the upcoming years. Also a very good idea to buy a cabin close to your friends in Sweden. Cabins in the north of Sweden are quite cheap and the region is beautiful as well! I'm looking forward to seeing your next steps in life. And Grimm took that hill like a boss! 😁 I hear you on the appreciation on aging dogs! My Shih Tzu, Sydney, just turned 16 in February (small dogs do tend to have longer life spans than bigger dogs). She has shown signs of aging, but she’s a resilient one!
So glad you're staying. Got nervous when saw the title! What a wonderful experience you're having and so glad we can share a glimpse of your adventure in that beautiful, wild, unique place. Keep them coming!
Cecilia Christoffer n Grim are synonymous with Svalbard... Please do not leave this heaven dearie ! We experience happiness watching your Svalbard videos ! ❤❤
I envy so much of life in Svalbard. The insulation and fireplace for a start and the food served.. I can light a fire and make lots of good food but what do I then do when the freezer is full?? My life is quite limited by a regular fridge with a small freezer. When I make them good meals and have leftovers for a week, I wish I could just leave it on the terrace and have it deeply frozen for a later day. No need for Uber food delivered to the door . Ah..Svalbard life is like a freezing dream for a foodie.
I'm happy you're not moving from Svalbard, but I'd watch you anywhere, because I love your videos :) I've loved your travel vlogs too! Another couple I watch have a home in Positano, and they also bought another one in Tuscany, and plan to split their time between the two. Sounds like that could work for you two as well! Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be fun for you both, and fun to watch :D
Cecilia, thanks for cheering me up today. It's amazing how a change of scenery, even on the interwebs combined with your uplifting commentary, can lift a body's mood. Thanks, my dear!
I feel the season from polar night to midnight sun goes so quickly! The fjord being frozen is just wild to see. One of my fave places you've been to is Pyramiden. I absolutely loved it when you toured that place a couple years ago! Marianna 💜💜
We are soooo excited for you guys!! You’re talking about that cabin in Norway like it’s so far in the future, but you should do it right away! Don’t put life on hold and spend as much time with friends and family as possible. Plus we want more Nordic travel content !!
I have an 11 yr old American Eskimo/spitz breed dog named Phillipe and Grimm has always reminded me of him. I think they would be fast, winter-loving, friends if they were to meet. When Grim started worry barking when you were sliding down the hill... that's a dog who loves his mama.
I am so happy that you are staying in Svalbard. It feels so grounded perhaps like no place else and a deep peace and awe for Svalbard through your beautiful videos. Much love Cecelia, Christoffer, Grim and visiting, lovely dog enjoying her retirement. Thank you Cecelia for bringing us the majesty of Svalbard and your life there.
I will be in Svalbard in a week. If I see either you or Chris in town, I would like to at least say 'Hi' and that I'm a subscriber. Other than that, thanks for all of the information on Svalbard and it has really helped me prepare for the weather and locale. I am so looking forward to it.
Been watching your channel for 4 years now so whatever you choose to show I shall see now it’s like a little family more than Svalbard ❤ your videos have helped me coped with my winter blues, I can always go back to your old videos
Like how you guys sit outside by the fire! Even in the cold 🥶 you truly appreciate your surroundings. And I love your new coffee cup, the saucer looks like it holds the cup well, no slip.
You coming down and him going up was a perfect depiction of your relationship. ❤️ I hope you capture it and put it as a print in your home with your smile and his strong self by your side as your calm. It made me emotional in a good way
Normally save these videos for my Monday morning back to work routine (I’m a freelancer and travel blogger). I get a coffee and watch your latest upload while I wake up & write my to do list for the day and week, but I clicked so fast on this one!
Look at that mug!!!😮 Your friend's dog looks so sweet..he/she(?) certainly now deserves to live a peaceful life indoors. And as always, Grimm is a love.❣️🐾🐾
Oh, haha - just when I was wondering how you were going to haul Grim up the hill, he ran up the hill. 😄 That filtered light over the land and the patterns on the ice are magnificent! Thank you so much for this view of where you are on this amazing blue planet. 😍
Enjoyed your update! Great seeing Christopher chatting it up & more in there! He's such a teddy bear🐻🥰 & you both are the sweetest. Lovely videographing (word?)
What a beautiful vlog, the sun over the ice is so dramatic. Adored the dog's concern when you disappeared down the slope. Thanks for sharing your amazing life!
What a great decision to spend more fantastic years on Svalbard! A cabin near your friends in sweden would be exciting ;-)) I wish you + Christopher + Grimm the most wonderful spring ! 🐻❄🐰🐻❄🐰🐻❄🐰
I will follow you and Christopher wherever you go, Cecilia! Your videos are gorgeous and I absolutely love your positivity and take on life. I really appreciate you sharing your life with us! 🤩
To see the fjord frozen over is absolutely fascinating! And beautiful! Nature’s winter paintbrush is so bright and uplifting. Our winters are dark and rainy, in the 30s-40s F, so the land is brown and dark green, and the sky is gray. But your landscape is sun shiney bright, lucky you!!
You two (and Grim of course) are a joy to watch. Your delight in the beautiful world around you in infectious. Thank you for introducing so many of us to the Svalbard lifestyle.
I am so glad that Svalbard will continue being part of your life as well as ours, yours viewers! I also love getting to know the world but it’s so heartwarming to have a home to go back to 😊 Thanks for your videos they make me so happy. Love Grim working as your assistant 😂 And that 14-year-old girl so deserves to be cuddled!
I couldn’t be happier for two people than I am for you. What an amazing life that you have worked for and are enjoying. I’m glad you’re not leaving Svalbard, I’d miss you on Sunday mornings. 😊
Have you noticed how the sound of the snow crunching under your feet changes as it gets colder? It gets louder, higher pitched, and sqeakier as the temperatures drop.
yup. You know it's hella cold when the snow squeaks under your feet! Clearly our buddy Cecelia is acclimated to that kind of cold. It doesn't get below zero where I live often. Maybe once or twice a Winter, though not this past Winter. But last time I was out in that temperature I had to take my gloves off to do something and my hands hurt from the cold in seconds. There she is outside with just her PJs on and calling it "crisp"! 🤣🥶😲😳😝
@dod2304 I've lived in the far north for most of my life, but somehow, I never noticed the way the sound of footsteps in the snow changed with temperature until I heard it on videos.
Cecilia, I have so much joy to watch your video.😊 the sliding down the hill, the coffee break, and the drone footage of the ice is magic! We lived 8 years in Asia, Bali, and we moved back last year to Europe, to be more closer to friends and family. I can totally understand your wish with a cabin in sweden to be more close to friends. Enjoy! Love from Italy❤🎉
I don’t know if you could but man it would be cool if you guys had a live webcam looking out at the fjord! I would watch the sunrise/set and see how it would look during polar night/day anytime I could! I probably just watch the ocean and the weather to relax. If there is something like that already I would love to know but your view is incredible. Thank you so much for sharing your life!❤
In January this year our province of Alberta and other parts of Canada got so cold it was dipping down to -60 C. It was beyond brutal! Seeing you out in -20 brought back memories of those days, and I hope it never gets that cold again😢
I love seeing Christopher climbing up the ladder but Grim running up and down the snow. As if saying “ who were you calling elderly and tires more easily “. I absolutely love Grim. 💕💕❤️❤️
So very lovely! The vibe, the beauty of the cold, the music, the sweet faces of the furbabies, especially Grimm at the end of the vlog with the fireplace...it's all enchanting! Thank you for sharing your love and life with us! You make it seem like a winter wonderland where you are! ❤❤❤
I will support your channel and all of you wherever you gp, but I can't deny I'm relieved that you are not moving from Svalbard! I love the Northern nights and the fjord and the sun's return and all the beauty you have shared with us! You and Christopher and Grim feel like family to me and i have come to love your channel so much! The 14 year old husky is a sweetheart! My dog lived to 18 wonderful years, so i am sure she has many more years of love and joy with people who care so much for her. The sleepy Grim at the end was just precious and he brings me so much joy and comfort when I miss my MacDubh! Be well, good friends! You are a blessing to us all!
I have always thought that the people who had the most appealing living arrangement, own two homes. Neither home has to be luxurious. It has to be well made, a comfortable size, easy to open up for an extended stay and easy to close down securely until another time. What I view as an isolated life in Svalbard, might be balanced by more of a village life somewhere else. Best of both worlds. Endless fun to contemplate.
I love that you have introduced us to Svalbard in such an authentic way. I realize, however, that I no longer watch to see more of Svalbard, but instead to hear from you because you are a great, down-to-earth storyteller. I would watch regardless of your location.
Wow Cecilia this might have to be one of my favourites! You are amazing going out in -20 in your Pj’s. I love the stunning views, the fun sliding down to the fiord, drinking coffee by the fire, chats with Christoffer and of course gorgeous Grim! 🩵❄️

Marianna 💜💜
I know right?! SO fast! Yeees me too, we can't visit Pyramiden now due to the war, but hoping for the future 🙏
We are soooo excited for you guys!! You’re talking about that cabin in Norway like it’s so far in the future, but you should do it right away! Don’t put life on hold and spend as much time with friends and family as possible. Plus we want more Nordic travel content !!
I love watching your videos at 4am when I just wake up. Your videos are very calming and easy to wake up to.
Whatever you and Christopher decide myself, and all of your dedicated followers will be here to watch your wonderful journey into the coming years❤❤❤
I have an 11 yr old American Eskimo/spitz breed dog named Phillipe and Grimm has always reminded me of him.
Glad to hear you will be filming content on Svalbard for many years to come!
I will be in Svalbard in a week. If I see either you or Chris in town, I would like to at least say 'Hi' and that I'm a subscriber. Other than that, thanks for all of the information on Svalbard and it has really helped me prepare for the weather and locale. I am so looking forward to it.
I love seeing and hearing more of Christoffer❤Love you guys❤❤❤
Very glad that you guys are not moving
Been watching your channel for 4 years now so whatever you choose to show I shall see now it’s like a little family more than Svalbard ❤ your videos have helped me coped with my winter blues, I can always go back to your old videos
Like how you guys sit outside by the fire! Even in the cold 🥶 you truly appreciate your surroundings. And I love your new coffee cup, the saucer looks like it holds the cup well, no slip.
It's cold outside, but they would have been toasty warm in their winter clothing. :)
You coming down and him going up was a perfect depiction of your relationship. ❤️ I hope you capture it and put it as a print in your home with your smile and his strong self by your side as your calm. It made me emotional in a good way
I enjoy watching you guys travel and love Svalbard content. I admire your passion for content and creativity wherever you go. ❤
hahah always the athlete!
Enjoyed your update! Great seeing Christopher chatting it up & more in there! He's such a teddy bear🐻🥰 & you both are the sweetest. Lovely videographing (word?)
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing your life there. The dogs are adorable to watch.
What a beautiful vlog, the sun over the ice is so dramatic. Adored the dog's concern when you disappeared down the slope. Thanks for sharing your amazing life!
What a great decision to spend more fantastic years on Svalbard! A cabin near your friends in sweden would be exciting ;-))
I wish you + Christopher + Grimm the most wonderful spring ! 🐻❄🐰🐻❄🐰🐻❄🐰
I will follow you and Christopher wherever you go, Cecilia! Your videos are gorgeous and I absolutely love your positivity and take on life. I really appreciate you sharing your life with us! 🤩
I love Christoffers demeanor.
What stoned?......🤣
To see the fjord frozen over is absolutely fascinating!
And beautiful! Nature’s winter paintbrush is so bright and uplifting.
Our winters are dark and rainy, in the 30s-40s F, so the land is brown and dark green, and the sky is gray. But your landscape is sun shiney bright, lucky you!!
Do what you have to do, I enjoy your videos from wherever ❤
So wonderfully edited. The ending makes me feel content and happy.
Hello, from the Great State of Texas! Your perception of cold is analogous to ours of summer. "It's a nice day. It's only 95°"!😂
You two (and Grim of course) are a joy to watch. Your delight in the beautiful world around you in infectious. Thank you for introducing so many of us to the Svalbard lifestyle.
I think it would be awesome to see both your Svalbard and cabin on mainland Sweden life! More videos the better 🙌🏼
I'm from Sweden but live in Australia, love your video, keep it up .
Sending lots of Love your way Cecilia!!🤍🦋
🧡🧡
I couldn’t be happier for two people than I am for you. What an amazing life that you have worked for and are enjoying. I’m glad you’re not leaving Svalbard, I’d miss you on Sunday mornings. 😊
Have you noticed how the sound of the snow crunching under your feet changes as it gets colder? It gets louder, higher pitched, and sqeakier as the temperatures drop.
It definitely does. :) You can always tell how cold it is by the sound, and how it looks.
You guys just do you, and enjoy this life you have. I will always follow wherever you go, love to you, Christoffer, and Grim.
Having friends so good that you want to buy a cabin near them to live closer is something I dream about. I'm happy for you guys ❤
Looking forward to all of your adventures no matter where it takes us! - Sorry Grimm but I love the snowmobile trips! 😊
I love your perspective when you travel. You help people see places with a different eye. Love your content.
Watching with my poor doggie 🐶 buster brown who has Lyme disease - went to vet emergency yesterday- so we’re snuggled up to visit with you and grim.❤
Aww poor doggie!! Hope he feels better soon!
Sending hugs to both of you! ❤
Check out Ivermectin for Lyme Disease
I hope he is feeling better soon!
I hope your doggie is okay soon! My shepherd had it last year and was so sick. :-( Ticks suck!
The patterns of nature so beautiful Cecilia and the wildlife oblivious to how fantastic they are 🥰
I don’t know if you could but man it would be cool if you guys had a live webcam looking out at the fjord! I would watch the sunrise/set and see how it would look during polar night/day anytime I could! I probably just watch the ocean and the weather to relax. If there is something like that already I would love to know but your view is incredible. Thank you so much for sharing your life!❤
Yeah...I would totally watch a fjord webcam!
Me too 😊
Glad you are all well & enjoying sunshine for a bit! 😊
I really miss living on Svalbard. I've been thinking about going back
Where do you live now? How long did you live on svalbard? That's awesome
@@PaulaRoberts-q6j I'm back in my home country now. I lived on Svalbard for 3 years (which is pretty average) and left when my work contract expired.
What did you do there?
In January this year our province of Alberta and other parts of Canada got so cold it was dipping down to -60 C. It was beyond brutal! Seeing you out in -20 brought back memories of those days, and I hope it never gets that cold again😢
I love seeing Christopher climbing up the ladder but Grim running up and down the snow. As if saying
“ who were you calling elderly and tires more easily “.
Answered the question BEFORE I watched- "NO" is the answer!💖💖
The noise the snow makes, when you walk on it, lets you know how cold it is:)
Yes I noticed it squeaking like that only when it is bitter cold.
Wow Cecilia this might have to be one of my favourites! You are amazing going out in -20 in your Pj’s. I love the stunning views, the fun sliding down to the fiord, drinking coffee by the fire, chats with Christoffer and of course gorgeous Grim! 🩵❄️
No way!!! Hope not! I’ll miss your videos!! ❤ love to you and yours ❤❤❤
Don't think they would move after all those renovations done :D
@@nikedoesthings I would love to be able to move there! Such a beautiful place.
I will love and enjoy your videos wherever you ,Christopher and Grimm are! You feel like family andII always feel like we're having a visit together!God bless you, wherever you are!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Woot woot! Sunday morning routine from Chicago! 💕💕
Hope you enjoyed it! It is COOOLD here now! 🧡
