Making up a story, I went to go see a live performance of Grease at Tobie's Dinner Theatre back in 2011. I was so jazzed about it, I UA-camd Grease Live and this video appeared. When watching it, I thought "Ohh, I guess it's one of those types of musicals where audiences can stand up and sing right back to the performers, and even shake their hands while the musical is happening." Fast forward to Doody singing 'Those Magic Changes,' and I was kicked out that moment because I was enthusiastically shouting back at him "I like my 50's LIVE!" That's a true made-up story.
I was 9 years old in 1978 in brooklyn, ny and i recall this commercial vividly. I am one who got to see Grease on Broadway back then (i also saw the movie that year as well). Unfortunately i never got to sit in the first row or anywhere near it, so i couldnt reach out and touch any of the actors on stage (as if they would allow it anyways). But the show sure did make me want to jump up on the stage and sing and dance alongside the rest of them!
A commercial of the ORIGINAL version of "Grease"? I like this, I seriously like this! I kinda find it sad that footage of the classic "Grease" is incredibly hard to find. As much as I accept the movie, and all subsequent incarnations of the story, I'd like to see more of its roots, where it first came from and crap. This should be preserved for generations to come!
I just finished doing Grease at my school in the drama club. I played Sonny. This production is so great I hope it gets remade again. I know they did Grease Live But I want to see another movie remake. Or maybe even a 3rd movie. (Even though Grease 2 sucked.)
Sharon Stone tweeted that this commercial was her first job.
In 1978 no one would have ever thought that the girl in this commercial would make cinema history 14 years later.

This is actually a revival. The original was from around '72.
No, this is a commercial for the original production, which ran from 1972-1980.
He exited the theater and went back in lol. He must've seen Grease seven times in the past four days 😬
He likes his fifties LIVE
My God, and we complain about unruly audience members now ...
Haha! Seriously. I wanna punch him
I can't believe I found this - the kid with the ugly gold sweater in the audience above the shoulder of the principle guy is me! No joke!
Hey! it's Sharon (Basic Instinct) Stone.
Is that Patrick Swayze as Danny in this commercial? I know he played him apparently but i never saw any pics or footage.
Yes, it is. Patrick Swayze.
Wow, great catch.
I see a 20 year old Sharon Stone!
Oh snap
This makes me want to travel back to 1978 so I would see the show first then the movie. Who's excited for Grease Live on Fox next week?
me
***** Tonight is the night!
+Justin Fencsak Did enjoy last week's exciting event?
And that's what I did, in New York, way back in 1978. I hated the movie.
@@Viracocha88 What?

Loren Bennington our school just did Grease this year & we performed it last week. I played Sonny as well!! 😂 I love this musical so much!
Is it just me or is he a little TOO into Grease?
Yes, It's a little scary
He's not into enough. I wasn't sold on how he said the word "LIVE"
No wonder Livia Soprano hated life, after her Broadway debut, it was all downhill 😂
is that sharon stone???
Yes!
Most overrated show ever. Well, except for Hamilton.
