"She's Got L'eggs"-first used in a series of both TV and print campaigns for L'eggs hosiery. Debuted in the fall of 1975 and featuring many celebrities such as Linda Gray, Debby Boone, Joyce DeWitt, Barbara Eden, Jamie Lee Curtis, Juliet Prowse, Erin Gray and more.
Familiar voiceovers featured: Ken Nordine (Taster's Choice); Karl Weber (Dowgard); Danny Dark (Carnation Breakfast Bar); Joel Crager (Proctor Silex); Orson Bean (Bic); Peter Thomas (Log Cabin Syrup); Stan Sawyer (Wonder Bread and English Muffins) and Adolph Caesar (Old Spice).
In the fall of 1975, I was in my first year of High School and remember almost all of these commercials. In 1975, we had Channel Z cable TV, and enjoyed watching TV without commercials. You were considered " cool" if your family had cable TV . I really enjoy seeing these old commercials again, believe it or not.
1:36, those were 10x better than those Quaker granola chocolate chip bars we have now. I don’t know why they were discontinued. Peanut butter crunch was the best. Those General Mills Breakfast Squares deserve honorable mention!
The lady with the saggy pantyhose in the first commercial is Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing from Dallas). Also, those Flick my Bic commercials 8:43 were a hoot. I'm old enough to remember my NYC high school teachers used to be allowed to smoke in class. People actually smoked inside subway cars too!! P.S. My uncle had the Cordoba with the fine Corinthian leather, not the rich, crushed velour 9:45😂😂😂
That's the late Victoria Lynn Johnson in the Shake and Bake commercial, who would become the August 1976 Pet Of The Month and the 1977 Penthouse Pet Of The Year, star in the movies Grizzly, Starship Invasions, Smokey and The Bandit, Racquet, on TV in the Young and The Restless and Dukes Of Hazzard.
We had only the three network channels. In my house though we only had NBC because we lived out in the country with a "lazy x" tv antenna. Anyone remember those?
3:38 the iconic voice of Karl Weber for Dowgard. One of the all-time best VO talents. 8:56 the wonderfully quirky voice of Orson Bean for Bic. 14:31 you can't have a commercial compilation without the iconic voice of Peter Thomas. 2:35 the wonderful actor Jim Harder. Instantly recognizable voice!

Marciarose Shestack is the female in the white shirt in opening WNBC/4 promo- had Sunday morning show- probably better recalled from her days on TV in Philadelphia
22:55- "THE GREAT GREAT SHOW"- Channel 4's showcase of "late late movies"- followed "SN" (at 1am) during the 1975-'76 season. The following September, they scheduled "DON KIRSHNER'S ROCK CONCERT" instead.
Would you know what was used for "The Great Great Show" theme? I know its origins date to early-mid 1964 as a late Friday night/early Saturday morning 'skein' after "Tonight's News" which in turn followed "The Tonight Show" (their M-Th [broadcast day] overnight film 'skein' was then "The 13th Hour," changed later in 1964 to "Tonight's Movie," before "The Great Great Show" was expanded to five nights a week by 1966, Sunday nights/early Monday mornings added in 1967, and finally Saturday nights/early Sunday mornings in mid-1968 (which, in its first weeks, ran horror movies previously aired on their very short-lived [1965-68] "Festival of Thrillers" whose super-narrow film rotation made WPIX's "Chiller Theatre" look as diverse as WOR-TV's later "Fright Night" by comparison).
That PSA freaked me out as a kid with the guy about to be run over by the subway. Took me all these decades he was there retrieving his umbrella. Not sure I get though why the first two people are "problems" since the stupid motorman closed his doors too early and someone else left their litter for the lady to slip on! (I'm also pretty sure Moreno did a version of this spot in Spanish as well that also aired)
@@luisreyes1963 They existed back then too. Also, I don't think the guy who had the doors slam on his briefcase is as much of a problem as the Subway cars clamping down on the briefcase.
@@luisreyes1963 - Probably during. But I have to wonder if it was because of this ad that, in the UK, a version of "Rodrigo's Guitar Concerto de Aranjuez" by Manuel and the Music of the Mountains (a pseudonym used by UK Columbia house musical director Geoff Love) was released as a single around this time, and became a hit there in early 1976 - and to think that version was originally a track on a 1971 album.
Speaking of which regarding the Ozempic commercials, Pilot's "Magic" was a recent hit at the time, so music was much more creative instead of just lampooning off the classics.
A lot better than these stupid commercials now.
Fantastic nostalgia! Was a great Era! 🇺🇸
Thank you!
Loved those breakfast bars

Jon Stewart, I totally agree! I wish they would bring them back!! 👍🏻
Guess some people complained that those Carnation Breakfast Bars were nothing but glorified candy bars.

The WNBC booth announcer on duty this late night/early Sunday morning was Bill Rippe.
Back then then the mid 70 s kind of mirrored today's world in 2022
Mariette Hartley for Nestle Toll House
She cares about her cookies.
Dallas actress Linda Gray in the Leggs pantyhose commercial.
John Cullum in the NYC City Charter ad
18:49- Dan Resin and Mort Marshall.
A silly ad for Luden's Cough Drops.
Rango cologne??? Makes me wonder if Tim Conway got a cut off that one...
I was 3 years old exactly when this aired, cool
John Cullom, from Northern Exposure, in the voting PSA at 5:50
He was in the Broadway musical "Shenandoah" at the time, wasn't he? I remember the ads for that . . .
Those carnation instant breakfast bars real goodike today's granola pecan andhoney oat bars
The BIC disposable lighter ad had a funny ending.
