    Just installed the Pioneer TS-WX1012A 12" in my Jeep TJ.... as these subs are new - it is hard to find any reviews info on them.
    Purchased for a great price.... easy install... 350 watts... used 8 gauge wiring... full, deep bass. Hard to find another powered sub at that wattage, nowhere near this price. This video was great for the enclosure sizes... I couldn't find those anywhere else.

      @@baller4life3100 I have the same question. It doesn't make sense to me that you just solder/connect a large 8 awg wire to a tiny 18 awg wire. Isn't that a fire hazard?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 5 років тому +3

      No, it's not a fire hazard. I recommend an amp kit of 10 or 12 gauge wire for the Pioneer TS-WX1010A or TS-WX1210A. You could use thicker wire. It won't hurt anything, but it's not necessary. You may have a long run from the battery to the amplifier. An amp kit wire that is thicker than the connection wire at the amplifier is a good thing. Be sure to properly fuse the amplifier power wire within 12 inches of the battery. Be sure to make a proper solder and insulation or, other joining and insulation method with a clean connection between the amp kit wires and the Power and Ground wires at the amplifier. The smaller wires will not overheat. The system uses a Class D amplifier. This is a very power efficient design and is fused at only 20 amps at the amplifier. @@deckerdotto6035 Hi Decherd. You seems to be the pro here. I bought a Pioneer TS-WX1010A so the 10 inches box. The wiring is done and the sub is working. But i'm TOTALLY CONFUSED with all the knobs and settings. Don't know a thing about how i should turn a knob to the left, right, center, etc.
      You say in your video as well as on the instructions manual : This is the gain knob. You can turn it for that purpose or that purpose. But i need more!!!!! How do i set the knob? Do i put it on low or high position? I tried several times but i can't feel the difference. And it is annoying to go in the trunk and then to the driver's seat to listen and back in the trunk and on and on for 25 times!
      If you could explain me (us, other users as well) what is the purpose of the gain level. It says protection. Should i turn it to the left for better protection or to the right?
      And it is the same for every knobs. You have to tell more on each knobs. And the reverse or normal switch please.
      I don't use the separate knob because when you turn it to the left, the sub is kind of out-mute and if you turn the knob just a little or way up to the right, no difference, the sub is working. It is like an on & off switch to me. Kind of useless.
      But if you could tell me everything about every knobs, will be helpful. Thank you.

      This is a long answer. Please take a few minutes to read the entire answer. Setting the gain control is easy. Don't be afraid of it. There is no one perfect amplifier gain setting. If there was, the amplifiers would be set that way at the factory. All audio systems are different and you need to adjust the gain control for good performance with your particular system. The amplifier's gain control is used to balance the output signal from the in-dash receiver with the input on the subwoofer amplifier. Too much gain will cause distortion, or noise in the subwoofer's output. This could damage or destroy your subwoofer. Not enough gain, and the subwoofer output will be too low and not deliver the performance you want. You use the gain control to find the balance.
      The way to get sharp and clear audio is to deliver a clean signal, not a distorted signal, to the amplifier. For the initial setup, disconnect the subwoofer so it does not power on. If you want to set the gain control, you need to start with the in-dash receiver. Turn all of the receiver's settings to zero. That means EQ, bass boost, loudness off, every audio setting that changes how loud the system is get's set to zero to start. Once you have all the settings to zero, choose an audio source with your favorite music. I like to use USB or CD as my test music source. Even your favorite FM radio station will work. I don't recommend using Bluetooth Audio as the test source. Bluetooth Audio has it's own gain settings to worry about. On your favorite song, slowly turn up the master volume on the audio system. Remember, the subwoofer should be off for this part of the setup. Slowly, turn up the master volume on the receiver until you begin to hear noise or distortion coming from the speakers. With all of the audio settings set to zero, you should be able to turn the volume up near it's maximum before you hear noise or distortion. Now, turn the volume back a little lower just to be safe. Take note of this volume level number on this particular audio source. This is the max clean output you can expect from the in-dash receiver, and it's the output level you'll use to set the gain on the subwoofer amplifier.
      Now turn the volume level back down to zero and turn the system off. Connect your subwoofer so it will power on with the rest of the system, and power on the system. At this point the audio system should be on and the subwoofer should be on. On the subwoofer amplifier set the gain control to mid way. Go to the receiver on the same test music source and turn up the master volume to about 30% of the max clean output. Now go to the subwoofer amplifier and slowly adjust the gain control. Turn the gain control clockwise and take note of the output of the subwoofer when the gain is turned clockwise. Is it louder? Or is it quieter? Now slowly turn the gain control counter clockwise, past mid way all the way down. Is the subwoofer's output louder? or quieter? Turning one way will make the subwoofer louder, and the other way will make the subwoofer quieter. This is important to understand. Remember, the gain control is not a volume control. The amplifier's gain control is used to balance the output signal from the in-dash receiver with the input on the subwoofer amplifier. Too much gain will cause distortion, or noise in the subwoofer's output. This can damage or destroy your subwoofer. Not enough gain, and the subwoofer output will be too low and not deliver the performance you want. You use the gain control to find the balance. Now raise the receiver's master volume control to the max clean output. Go to the subwoofer and adjust the gain control so that you get good output performance but do not at any time hear distortion or noise coming from the subwoofer. When you hear noise or distortion turn the gain back just a bit. If you're hearing distortion or noise you can damage or destroy the subwoofer. Don't be afraid to drive around for a day or two and then make a small adjustment to the gain control. However, once you've made your gain control setting correctly, they should be left alone.
      As for the Phase switch, try both normal and reverse. One of these settings may sound significantly better than the other in your particular vehicle. Try normal first. Drive around for a few days and take note of what you are hearing. Then switch to reverse phase. Drive around for a few days and take note of what you are hearing. Choose the one that sounds best to you. If you don't hear a difference in your vehicle, set it to normal and don't worry about it.
      Audio, is a fun hobby that can last a lifetime. You can't learn all there is to know in the same day. There is quite a lot to it. Every system and situation can be very different. Be patient and learn a little at a time. Use what you've learned to make a better audio system and continue the process. Hi. I have the 10 inches one bought in 2019. I use it as a complementary factory sound system ''Dimension'' in my Hyundai Sonata Limited 2011 and it worked good for me until...
    The woofer is going back and forth a lot! And if you put all the level at full range... One day in 2020 it stopped to worked so i opened it to see. The woofer has of course two wires (black & red) attached (plugged) into it and you have two little wires color gold attached to the woofer itself and to the plugs. One of those gold wires was detached because too much going back and forth.
    So i wielded it. It lasted not long, detached again. So i wielded it again and detached again after a while. I decided to put an extra wire about two inches long to make sure the gold wire will have enough room. Darn it is maybe the 15th times i'm repairing it. I must say that i'm not a good welder and my welding is awful but tight when i finished repairing it!
    And by pure luck, the other gold wire never went out! Still staying put! So i have the choice to go to a repair shop and maybe the weilding will be better but i'm wondering if you could suggest me a replacement woofer instead. Will be the same price as the repair. Can you suggest me a Pioneer woofer 10 inches with 8 bolt holes, same watts, same ohms. Nothing is written under the woofer i have. What are the specs of it?
    A Pioneer replacement or another brand for about 100 bucks on Amazon will do. Just replacing the woofer and keeping the cabinet and wires connected to my sound system. I want to keep the cabinet, it fits good in my trunk.
    Thank you. Tired of repairing it every week or so...

      @@pioneerelectronics Thank you for your response. I'm in Canada. As i told you, the soldering i've made is good but last only a few days because i always listen to my music very loud. I consider going to a electronic repair shop, maybe they will make a better solder than mine and charge me maybe 75 dollars???
      Or replacing the woofer with another one but keeping the cabinet. I browsed Amazon Canada and there are plenty of models around 100 dollars. Not always Pioneer brand but all i want is bass sound and stop opening the caninet and repair it again and again. If the repair shop failed, it will be 75 maybe 100 dollars down the drain.
      So, do you have in mind a good idea for a woofer replacement? And by the way, the woofer i already have, is it a 2 or a 4 ohms? Not written anywhere. Thank you.

      @@pioneerelectronics Hi. If you recall, i have trouble with one of the two wires attached to the cone and to the connector. Only one of the two. It detached from the connector so i wield it but it never lasted. So i wielded the wire again and again and again. I put an extra wire to make it longer but my wielding never lasted! Today that wire detached from the cone. So it's scrap. Will replace the 10 inches woofer by a solid Cerwin-Vega who has long accordeon wires so that problem will be solved forever i hope. Not satisfied with that Pioneer woofer.
      Tell me. I'm 59 and i have had sound systems all my life. On every loud speaker box, there is a hole like the size of a door handle to let the air goes out when the woofer is working hard. In those Pioneer boxes, the 10 & the 12 inches, no holes! Why? What will happen if i drill a hole the size of a door handle on the side or the back of the cabinet? Can't be bad but only good?

      @@easyabc1404 The Pioneer TS-WX1010A is an amplifier and subwoofer system designed to operate together in a sealed enclosure. All of the parts, the amplifier, subwoofer, and enclosure are designed to operate together. You are replacing the factory woofer with a different product. Best of luck with that. I recommend to use a replacement woofer that has the same impedance as the speaker you are removing. If you don't, you can expect very different performance from this amplifier and subwoofer box.
      Subwoofers are designed to be used in a very specific size, or internal volume of enclosure. A box that is too big, or a box that is too small, will significantly degrade the performance of the subwoofer. Subwoofers like the one in the TS-WX1010A are designed to be used in the sealed enclosure it's packaged with.
      Subwoofers and enclosures can be designed as sealed or ported systems. A sealed enclosure tends to have a tighter punchier sound. A ported enclosure tends to have a boomy sound at a particular frequency.
      When you design a subwoofer enclosure with a port, there is more to it than just a hole in the side of the box. The port is of a very specific diameter, and length. There is typically a hard tube or pipe inside the port. For example, the port might be 3 inches diameter and 6 inches long. Again, the port diameter and length, are specific to the enclosure design and if you don't use the proper port diameter and length, you can expect significantly degraded performance from the speaker.

    Would I need to swap out the stock alternator in a ‘98 Tacoma with this unit?
    I drive a fair amount at night, sometimes in inclement weather.
    Just wondering how much this will draw.

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  2 роки тому +1

      This is a tough question to answer completely. There are many variables.
      Please keep reading for my advice.
      The Pioneer TS-WX1210A has maximum current consumption of only 13 Amps at 14.4V DC. That's pretty low for a maximum number. This is listed in the owner's manual. You can download a copy of the manual from Pioneer here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/TS-WX1210A_TS-WX1010A_InstructionManual070918.pdf
      Will you need to swap out the vehicle's stock alternator? With only 13 amps max current draw, the answer is almost always no for a modern vehicle or up to 15 year old vehicle under normal use. You'll be good with a factory alternator.
      However, your 1998 Tacoma is about 25 years old at this point, and the alternator may or, may not be ready to fail. It may not output 14.4 volts any more. If the alternator's output is lowered due to age and use, these numbers may change a little. So, I can't be sure.
      You drive regularly with the lights on, the air conditioner or heater, and defroster on, and the windshield wipers all on. In a more modern vehicle with a much newer alternator the additional 13 amp max draw should not be an issue that would need an upgraded alternator. In a 25 year old vehicle, it should be OK, however I would not be amazed to hear that you need a new alternator, simply based on age and heavy use.
      If you install the Pioneer TS-WX1210A, be sure to connect the power cable directly to the vehicle's battery with 8 or 10 gage wire, and a fuse within 12 inches of the vehicle's battery. Just as important as the power wire is the ground wire. It's very important to use the same gauge wire for the ground, and to make a clean and solid connection directly to metal in the body or frame of the vehicle.
      If you are seeing your lights dim when you're hammering the subwoofer, even with a proper power and ground connection, it may be time for a new alternator, but not necessarily an upgraded output alternator.

      The Pioneer TS-WX1210A is a great choice for metal. This is a sealed enclosure type of subwoofer cabinet. With a sealed enclosure you'll generally get a tighter punchier type of bass.
      Another option is the Pioneer TS-WX1210AH seen here: ua-cam.com/video/cI9SfaPFenA/v-deo.html This one is a ported enclosure with more power and will play deeper harder hitting bass. It's a ported enclosure that will boom a little more than the sealed type of enclosure.
      You can't go wrong with either one.
      One more option is the TS-WX1210AM. This is also a ported enclosure, with power similar to the first one TS-WX1210A.

      The Pioneer TS-WX1210A can use RCA signal input or speaker level signal input. They will both work. The new subwoofer will not have the same connection plugs as the stock subwoofer, but the wiring from the stock subwoofer, both the signal and power/ground, may be useable by the replacement woofer. You'll need to cut the connectors off to make it work. The Pioneer TS-WX1210A has a 20 amp fuse. If you choose to use the existing wiring, please be sure the existing wiring can handle this type of current draw. I recommend to install the Pioneer TS-WX1210A with an amplifier install wiring kit and running the power wire directly to the vehicle's battery. Many are available, here is one possibility: www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA10BX/EFX-PA10BX-Wiring-Kit.html The wiring kit includes all the parts you'll need to wire the new subwoofer safely and reliably. In this case, you'll also need to connect the Blue wire to switch the subwoofer on and off with the in-dash receiver. However, no external line output converter is needed. Help please. I just bought this sub, i installed a pre amp (LC-2i), to my factory stereo. I have power on the sub and on the pre amp. I ran an rca from the bass output from the preamp to the rca female inputs on the sub and im not getting any sound. My pre amp has a GTO feature that uses speaker level input to power it on and a remote out feature to power further amps, eq, crossovers etc. So ive got it to power the sub but i cant figure out why it isnt getting any signal from the preamp. I have even used to passive line out converter, still no sound. What makes it even more strange, i have a kicker powered sub wired the exact same way and its playing just fine. So any help would be appreciated.

      If you are using RCA inputs, (not speaker level) please be sure the Pioneer subwoofer input select switch is set to RCA. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/lbLvvzvvLro/v-deo.html When using RCA input, you'll need to use the Blue Wire to switch the Pioneer subwoofer on and off with the in-dash receiver. The power indicator should light up. There are no other On/Off settings on the product. You can think of the Blue wire as the subwoofer's on/off switch. Apply 12 volts to switch the subwoofer on.
      I recommend to run the Blue wire and connect it to the Blue with White stripe on the back of the in-dash receiver.

    Does the TS-WX1210A ABSOLUTELY need to be wired to the battery, or can it be wired to the fuse box? I currently have a Kicker self powered 8" sub wired to the fuse box (secondary fuse inline). 1210A scheduled to be delivered in 3 days. I would like to be prepared for fastest installation. Thank you for any help.

      It depends on your vehicle. If the vehicle's fuse panel has an open 20 amp circuit, you may be able to tap into the fuse panel. The TS-WX1210A has a 20 amp fuse in the side of the amplifier. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/lbLvvzvvLro/v-deo.html I don't recommend to fuse the power wire at less than 20 amps. The maximum current consumption for the Pioneer TS-WX1210A is 13 amps. A long run from the power source to the amplifier may push this current draw up above 14 or 15. If you play at lower output you may be OK. However, if you play at higher output, and draw more amps, you may blow a fuse or multiple fuses in the panel. Be prepared if multiple fuses fail in your panel. You may need new fuses to operate things like the heater, windshield wipers, lights etc... I recommend to bypass the fuse panel and, run the power connection directly to the vehicle's battery and to put a fuse within 12 inches of the vehicle's battery. Ground the system to metal in the body or frame of the vehicle. I find it easiest to use an amplifier install kit. Many are available. Here is one possibility: www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA10BX/EFX-PA10BX-Wiring-Kit.html It's easy because it has all the parts you need to make it work. You can use smaller than 8 gauge if you want. Do what makes you happy. With 8 gauge, you could use a distribution block to deliver power to other products as well as the powered subwoofer. Or simply solder and insulate the connection. You can find more videos on Pioneer's You Tube Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

      The Pioneer TS-WX1210A / TS-WX1010A has an extremely efficient Class D amplifier built in. The maximum current draw of the TS-WX1210A / WX1010A amplifier is only 13 amps. You don't need a heavy gauge wire for this.
      If you had an amplifier that has a maximum current draw of 80 or 120 Amps, then you would certainly want a much thicker gauge wire like a 4 gauge or thicker.
      The 20 amp fuse is shown in the video here: ua-cam.com/video/lbLvvzvvLro/v-deo.html
      When installing the Pioneer TS-WX1010A / 1210A, or any car audio amplifier, I strongly recommend to use a separate fuse on the power wire within 12 inches of the vehicle's battery. That means 2 separate fuses. One fuse at the battery and one fuse at the amplifier. This will help to protect your vehicle from an electrical fire in case of a crash or other mechanical failure.
      The maximum current draw of the TS-WX1210A / WX1010A amplifier is only 13 amps. You don't need a heavy gauge wire for this.
      Unless you have a very long run from the battery to the subwoofer installation location, for example, more that 15 or 20 feet, you can use 8, or 10 or 12 gauge wire with no worries.
      I strongly recommend an 20 amp fuse on the power wire within 12 inches of the vehicle's battery. The subwoofer is fused at 20 amps on the amplifier.
      Please note: You need to run the power wire directly to the battery. However, the ground wire can be connected directly to clean metal in the body or frame of the vehicle near the subwoofer installation location and does not need to go to the battery.
      Please be sure to use the same gauge ground wire as you do with the power wire.
      I recommend the use of an amplifier installation kit to make this whole process easier. Many are available. Here is one possibility: www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA10BX/EFX-PA10BX-Wiring-Kit.html

      The Pioneer TS-WX1010A, and TS-WX1210A are amp and speaker combinations designed to operate together in a sealed system. The built-in amplifier is designed to operate the installed speaker only. These systems are not designed to operate multiple speakers, or with any speaker other than the Pioneer factory parts. 10 or 8 gauge wire will work fine for Pioneer TS-WX1010A or TS-WX1210A. You'll need to extend both the power and ground wires with a proper solder and insulation or, other joining and insulation method. I recommend to run the Ground wire to metal in the body or frame of the vehicle. The shorter the run for the ground wire the better. I recommend to run the power wire directly to the vehicle battery. I recommend to contact Pioneer Customer Service in the US. You can find them here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support or you can call in the US 1-800-421-1404. If you can't work something out with Pioneer Customer Service, you can replace the woofer with an original part from Pioneer by contacting PAC Parts. PAC Parts is the Authorized Parts Distributor for Pioneer in the US. You can find them here: www.pacparts.com/default.cfm If you are going to replace the woofer with a different part, I recommend to use a woofer that performs well with the internal volume of the box you have. All woofers are designed to work in a box with a specific internal volume. If you don't use a woofer that is designed to go in the box size you have, you'll be disappointed with it's performance. You didn't mention if you have the 10 or the 12. The internal volume of the 10 is approximately 1.2 cubic feet and the internal volume of the 12 is about 1.8 cubic feet. The amplifiers are 300 and 350 watts RMS for the 10 and 12 respectively. If you replace the woofer with a Pioneer original part, please consider turning the amplifier gain control back about 10%. And be sure your in-dash receiver is putting out a clean, and not distorted signal. If your in-dash receiver is putting out a clean, not distorted signal, the woofer will perform better, and be more reliable. If you are looking for more bass, jacking up the receiver's EQ or bass boost will not do what you want it to do. If you are looking for more bass, you'll need a more powerful amplifier, and a better power handling woofer, or woofers. Here is one possibility: ua-cam.com/video/RFb9Qpt9Obo/v-deo.html or consider an external amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D8701 here: ua-cam.com/video/-Uq25Goo0sU/v-deo.html and the Pioneer ua-cam.com/video/QgG1mu2u3XI/v-deo.html You can find more videos on Pioneer's UA-cam Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

    • @deckerdotto6035

      I'm all for adding on a 5 channel amp. Please consider the Pioneer GM-D9705 seen here: ua-cam.com/video/99Hfmc8QxVc/v-deo.html It's a great amp. Tons of pure clean power and super reliable. And, if your longer term plan is to eventually replace the Pioneer TS-WX1010/1210A with a different passive woofer/box, that will work out great. If you get a 5 channel amp, I recommend to NOT connect up the subwoofer portion of the 5 channel amplifier until you are ready to replace the Pioneer TS-WX1010/1210A subwoofer. Simply continue to use the Pioneer sub "as is" until you are ready to make your change to another woofer. Not using the subwoofer portion of the 5 channel amp will not damage in any way an amp like Pioneer GM-D9705. If you want to use the subwoofer output of the 5 channel amplifier to the Pioneer TS-WX1010/1210A, this will require you to take the woofer out of the box and completely disconnect it from the built-in amplifier. This will certainly void the warranty on the Pioneer TS-WX1010/1201A. If the new 5 channel amplifier has more power than the existing Pioneer subwoofer/amp combo, you will risk damaging or destroying the Pioneer woofer with too much power. Of course, you'll need to disconnect the power/ground and signal connections to the Pioneer woofer. Effectively, you want the Pioneer woofer amplifier to be disconnected from everything and just sitting in the box. If you don't do this the performance will be severely affected and it may damage or destroy the Pioneer woofer and/or the new 5 channel amplifier. Next, you'll need to drill a hole in the subwoofer box for the new speaker wires from the 5 channel amp and run those wires into the subwoofer box and connect them directly to the existing Pioneer woofer completely bypassing the built-in amplifier. And don't forget to seal the hole drilled for the wires for best performance. If you don't seal this drilled hole performance will suffer. Next re-install the woofer back into the box. However, please remember that you already own a subwoofer amplifier. It's built into the Pioneer TS-WX1010/1210A. Adding on a 4 channel amplifier and using the amplifier built into the sub will work great as well. I'm at a lost. Please hear me out. I purchased a Pioneer TS-WX1210A. A powered subwoofer. 1300 W max, NOM 350 W. The suplied wire harness has a 12 gauge wire set. I'm hooking it up to the Pioneer AVIC W 8500 head unit. I called Best Buy and Crutchfield and they both told me I need at least an 8 gauge wire, but to me that makes no sense if the supplied wire harness has 12 gauge wires for power, ground, RCA's and remote. Please help steer me in the right direction. It also has a 20 amp fuse that goes with it. I'm thinking that 20 amp fuse can hook into the fuse box instead of the battery.

      I recommend an amp kit of 10 or 12 gauge wire for the Pioneer TS-WX1010A or TS-WX1210A. You could use thicker wire. It won't hurt anything, but it's not necessary. I recommend running the power connection directly to the vehicle battery. You may have a long run from the battery to the amplifier. So a thicker wire amp kit, like a 8 gauge would make sense. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/lbLvvzvvLro/v-deo.html The Bass Level remote control is for the Bass Boost level on the amplifier. Use the bass boost frequency selector to choose the center frequency for the boost. Use the remote to control the amount of boost at the selected frequency. Use the bass boost frequency selector to choose the center frequency for the boost because it will effect the frequencies both higher and lower than the center frequency in a bell shaped curve. The frequencies that are affected are based on the amount the bass level is boosted. The more you boost, the wider the bell shaped curve gets, and the more frequencies are effected by the boost. For example: If you set the LPF crossover at 80Hz, and the bass boost center frequency at 50Hz. When you turn up the bass level remote control you could easily be effecting all frequencies from the 80Hz crossover point down to 20Hz. It's less than one octave both higher and lower.

      The Pioneer TS-WX1010A and TS-WX1210A are both designed to operate on 12 volts DC electricity from a car (10.8 to 15.1 Volts allowable). You're house operates on AC electricity. Depending upon where you are in the world the voltage will vary in your house. You'll need a power convertor, also known as a 12 volt power supply, to change the electricity that comes out of the wall in your house into useable 12 volts DC for the subwoofer. In addition, I would recommend at least a 15 amp 12 volt DC power supply. Many are available. Any number of wire joining methods will work just fine. I recommend to solder and heat shrink wrap wire connections. If your power run is 15 feet or less and If you think 8 gauge is too big, go with 10 gauge wire from the battery to the power connection on the amplifier and for the ground connection. 10 or 12 gauge will work great. Both the Pioneer TS-WX1010A and TS-WX1210A have very efficient Class D amplifiers and are fused at only 20 amps at the amplifier. • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 роки тому

      It may be possible. However, I recommend to check a few details first. The Pioneer TS-WX1010A and the TS-WX1210A both have a 20 amp fuse on the amplifier. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/lbLvvzvvLro/v-deo.html The maximum current drawn by the amplifier in normal operation is 13 amps. That means the subwoofer/amplifier may draw around 13 amps when at high volume. This means the 12 volt power output in the vehicle's trunk will need to be rated at 15 amps or so, or higher, for it to work reliably. If the amp rating is lower than 15 it may blow a fuse in the vehicle during higher volume operation. Are you sure your home made cables are sending a positive and negative signal from the speaker to the amplifier? Please test to be sure. If it's not working that way, use the Blue wire. The amplifier needs to switch on and off with the in-dash receiver or with the vehicle. As a test, If you connect the Blue wire to 12 volts, the amplifier should switch on. If that works, great run with it. Please be careful here because, if the 12 volt input Blue wire to the amplifier does not switch OFF with the vehicle, the amplifier may remain on, even when the vehicle is switched off. This will kill the vehicle's battery. You don't want that to happen, So please be sure the amplifier switches on and off with the in-dash receiver or the vehicle.

      I recommend to check the power cable connection at the subwoofer. Make sure it's still firmly connected.
      Next, take a look at the ground connection to the vehicle. This is typically a black cable that is directly connected to metal in the body or frame of the vehicle. If the ground cable has been jarred loose the subwoofer will not operate. The ground needs to have a clean connection to metal in the vehicle. No paint, just a clean connection to metal.
      Finally check to see the audio signal connection is still intact. That means the RCA cables or the speaker level connection that brings the audio signal to the amplifier.
      When you get it working again, please consider using the mounting brackets that were included with the subwoofer.

      I don't think the battery is the issue. It sounds like the woofer amplifier stayed switched on even though the car was switched off. To test, switch the vehicle OFF and remove the key. Now look at the amplifier panel on the subwoofer. If the power indicator is on when the car is off, there is an installation wiring issue with the subwoofer. If that's the case, the Blue/White wire, or system remote control wire is the issue. System remote control should connect to the in-dash receiver and switch the sub woofer off when the in-dash receiver switches off or when the vehicle is switched off. I'm new to this? why is there 2 rca jacks when there's only 1 speaker?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 роки тому

      Two RCA inputs and one subwoofer output is very common in audio. The one speaker is a subwoofer, and it's designed to play only very low frequencies. For stereo listening in higher frequencies, from about 150Hz to 20,000Hz, or so, we typically use 2 speakers. One for the right and one for the left. Humans hear high frequencies, usually about 150Hz and higher very well, and very importantly, we can tell where the sound is coming from with great accuracy. For example, is the sound near or far? Is it to the right or the left? etc... This is because most people have 2 ears. One for the right and one for the left. Lower frequencies however, below about 150Hz or so, work a little differently. With low frequencies, most people can't really tell exactly where the low frequency sound is coming from. They can tell in a general direction where the low frequency sound is coming from, but not with great accuracy like you can with higher frequencies. This is why you can put a subwoofer in the trunk and it still works with the other speakers in the vehicle. Knowing this, many recordings combine the right and left channels into one channel for the lowest frequencies. You could use the Right Input or the Left input or both and in most cases the output will be the same. It's perfectly normal operation to run 4 full range speakers from the Pioneer in-dash receiver's internal amplifier AND to use the Red and White RCA outputs on the rear of the in-dash receiver to send signal to the subwoofer. All at the same time. Please allow me to be sure you received this answer to your previous question. You can run the 4 full range speakers in the vehicle from the amplifier built into the Pioneer DEH-X3910BT and use the in-dash receiver's RCA outputs to run signal to the Pioneer TS-WX1010A subwoofer. You can find a video about the Pioneer wire harness here: ua-cam.com/video/kR2MO2kwFug/v-deo.html I recommend to get an amp install kit in 8 or 10 gauge for the Pioneer TS-WX1010A. This will include power and ground wire, and remote turn on wire as well as RCA cables. Many are available, here is one possibility: www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA10BX/EFX-PA10BX-Wiring-Kit.html Be sure to install the fuse on the power wire within 12 inches of the vehicle's battery for safety. The Blue/White wire on the in-dash receiver will switch the amplifier on and off with the in-dash receiver. Here is a video about the Pioneer TS-WX1010A: ua-cam.com/video/lbLvvzvvLro/v-deo.html Please be sure to install the latest firmware update for your Pioneer DEH-X3910BT. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-X3910BT#downloads I recommend to setup the Pioneer DEH-X3910BT RCA outputs as full Range outputs and use the LPF or Low Pass Filter built into the Pioneer TS-WX1010A as the crossover for the subwoofer. You can see the setup on a similar in-dash receiver here: ua-cam.com/video/iLloPAn4y_o/v-deo.html You can learn more about what a LPF or Low Pass Filter does in this video: ua-cam.com/video/WvJXYh6vk_0/v-deo.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's You Tube Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

      This video was made for the North American market. If available in India, the product will appear similar, but it will have a different model number. You can find more information about Pioneer subwoofers here: ua-cam.com/video/rOyFPOT0nI4/v-deo.html

    How do you connect that tiny wire to a 8 gauge wire?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 6 років тому

      You could solder it. You could use various crimp connector solutions. You could use a slightly higher gauge (thinner) wire from the battery if you wanted.

      I used a wire twist connector from a local hardware store. It was a 22-6 gauge connector. just strip em back and push them in and twist. cheap and it worked just make sure you check them.

    Can you hook two of these up

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 5 років тому

      Yes. You can have 2 or more in the same vehicle. No worries. I'm not aware of a way to connect both woofers to operate with only one controller. Two woofers will mean two bass boost controls. No matter how i adjust my eq i have a couple songs where this sub is playing frequencies in the 100hz range which is muddying up the actual low end. Anyone have any ideas on why thats happening? Even with a high q factor on my head unit, flat eq on the head, boost and bass level at minimum on the sub, and crossover at the minimum, and in a particular song im getting a "thump" which is around 100hz according to my audio analyzer of the track. Anyone have any ideas?

      Please remember, if you make audio adjustments based on one particular song as you stated above, you may adversely effect all of the other music you play through the system. Are you certain the thump you are hearing is coming from the subwoofer? Or exclusively the subwoofer? Are you using a low pass filter crossover on the in-dash receiver before it sends the signal to the Pioneer TS-WX1010A/1210A? If so, experiment with a steeper slope on the LPF. I recommend starting with an 80HZ crossover and 24dB per octave slope. Use a slope steeper than 24 if it's available. If you are using the LPF on the TS-WX1010A/1210A, I recommend to use adjust it to it's lowest available frequency, 50Hz. The crossover slope on Pioneer TS-WX1010A/1210A is fixed at 12 dB per octave. Please remember 50Hz and 100Hz is exactly 1 octave apart. This means sound will be only 12 dB quieter at 100 Hz than at 50 Hz. You can learn more about what a crossover and slope do in this Pioneer video: ua-cam.com/video/WvJXYh6vk_0/v-deo.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's You Tube Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

      Deckerd Otto yes I looked at the songs where this was happening and it was in the 100hz range were this was happening. It didn’t happen on my sub/hifi set up in my home. Thank your for the response, I will give this a try and see if I can improve it. Thanks!

    The 1210a will not fit behind my seat in my single cab S10 lol 😂 1010a will

      If the Pioneer TS-WX1210A won't fit behind the seat in your truck, don't fight with it. A pair of TS-WX1010A subs, one behind each seat will work great.
