- This is by far the largest yacht I have ever filmed for a walk through video. My team and I flew to Antigua, and captured some wonderful footage. It's quite remarkable to find such a large yacht of such a recent construction available for sale!

Some of the Princess yachts, for me, have the perfect mix of light furnishings but darker furniture! Solo seems, maybe, a bit busy for my liking, but I guess the super rich like their interiors this way? Although it isn't too over the top!

@@mrschwifty5564 I watch a lot of videos from Oceanco. There is no narration or history building up, just the video, which I like a lot. This is pretty rare on a yacht of this size that's not done by the manufacturer with full VIP status to do the shoot, especially when the yacht will be going back to the shipyard for minor tweaks. There is another video by "The Boat Show" who I like and follow that didn't got into detail like of the yacht.

If I have the money, I'd buy it right away.
Well currently her asking price is around 80,000,000 dollars US. So let's say you win the lottery and you have the 80 million handy. Then there the price of fuel, because I mean why have a boat if you're not going to go somewhere right? This one holds 42796 gallons of diesel for the main engines, at roughly $3.30 US that comes to 141226 dollars to fill the tanks. So if you decide to go somewhere the most economical speed of this yacht is 12.5 knots or roughly 85 gallons for traveling 12 1/2 nautical miles or in dollars and cents, 282 dollars an hour just for fuel.
That doesn't take in the cost of the 18 member crew, maintenance, insurance, docking fees etc. All told you can expect for a yacht of this size to spend about 4 to 6 million dollars a year if you use it for 8 weeks out of the year for your own use and depending on the level of service you expect from the crew, maintenance, etc. Of course you can offset a lot of that cost by putting her up for charter but of course then you deal with a much steeper depreciation when it comes time to sell or trade it in for a bigger or smaller vessel. And if there is a charter contract for her at a time of year when all of a sudden you might need her, you have to deal with a lack of availability. But if you do charter her you can expect to spend out of pocket about 2.2 million a year in an average year.
But now every 10 years or so, you will have to undergo a certification survey to maintain her charter yacht status, and typically a 10 year refit. The 10 year refit, depending on what needs to be replaced, refurbished, rebuilt, whatever, and it can get into the 8 digit realm very quickly.
So for a boat of this size, if your bank account, net worth, holdings etc are less than about 600 million dollars, with a take home after taxes income of less than 30 million dollars a year, you are going to go broke quick. And this is just if the yacht is your only indulgence, so if you like vacations in Aspen and Chamonix or St. Barts in the winter, and Nice or Trieste or Monaco in the summer, and you have a beach home in Suffolk County, Long Island, and Manalapan Florida, or a ranch in Chile or Santa Fe NM, and a main home in Bel Aire Cal, you better wait until you reach billionaire status because chapter 11 will be your fate in a hurry.

Absolutely exquisite! The layout and the decor are, in my opinion, perfect! Plenty of room but very intimate feeling. The decor is not overly exotic, it's more grounded so you feel like you are at home while out at sea. Also the ambience is completely enveloping, almost like a warm blanket that you can walk around in. Beautiful!
faulty layout. But it's not mistakes, it's the cheapness of production.
simple, not ergonomic interior design, which is unsuitable, but only good for sale. I don't know what it's like for the crew to work there for long periods of time.

Dale Chihuly? ... amazing ... I LOVE the bathroom ... what a view ...the galley is so well appointed, spacious & airy ... marvelous place to 'cook up a storm' ....Åh, jag älskar bastun och kylan (oh, I love the sauna and the cold plunge) ...& all the Toys & Tenders ...

THAT, was a Great Video Mr. Seal. What set it apart was having some of the crew using facilities to give a future owner a better idea of it's capabilities. I can't remember seeing another yacht review that incorporated a true reflection of living aboard, with actual crew members helping to sell the Dream. Well done !

Great progression through the both the vessel and the features. You're telling a real story with these videos, revealing the personality. Ending with that blast-out of freedom from the side plank to the vehicles made it an adventure story, almost a kind of heroic journey through "the beast of luxury."
Overall, it seems like a very upscale or private cruise ship. Everything you'd expect, and plenty of it for several guests, but without a bunch of risky gimmicks or niche-interest facilities to detract from the overall general purpose. It feels solid for doing what it's supposed to do -- essential hospitality and ease -- and not trying to serve too many eccentric masters.
It also doesn't seem to duplicate too many functions with repetitious over-grandiose or self-indulgent spaces, so you get a lot of different flavors to fit the moods of the passengers. It also has a practical communality that suggests the guests aren't actually trying to avoid each other, which a lot of big boats seem to imply by design.
I like a hard-working ship, where everything has a purpose and a meaning and assumes that the people also know what they are there to do and how to fit in, even if that is mostly having a bit of relaxing fun together. Despite its name, Solo feels amicable and inviting, able to be as formal as necessary, but also encouraging more personable relations. Everything from the layout of the facilities to the lighting and the decor would make it very easy to slip in and feel like a home away from home.
I would call this the most "livable" seeming of the big boats you've shown us. If I were a fuel-burning motor-yacht guy, this would be a top pick. That my own tastes run along a different axis, farther out the spartan/environmental-energy scale, does not detract from the qualities that Solo brings to bear. I may not be "that guy" for this vessel, but I could at least imagine myself being happy there for quite a while.

In a previous video the estimate for running costs of a super yacht (as a rule of thumb) is 10 % of the purchase price per year.

I've always wondered though, that if when bought ex-vat the new owner pays the price plus vat at current value or has to pay the original vat owed? But, at that, a very good price for a (pretty much) brand new yacht!

Beautiful yachts. I've never seen such craftsmanship. It would be a pleasure to cruise the world in this. I don't know much about this lifestyle as I'm not filthy rich. One thing I'd always think of in cruising the oceans of the world is safety and defense ability. God knows, this would be the grand treasure to those with weak character. I've heard that piracy extends far beyond Somalia.
I would hope that a vessel such as this has an adequate armory. If I were ever able to afford a craft with all these amenities I'd sure want to be confident that my family and guests (and myself as well...) could be protected until help could arrive.
