It was truly touching to hear the sorrow in your voice when describing Brett's bad luck stories....🤣🤣 Looked like a nice relaxing way to finish opening day.
Thanks Kevin. haha Brett and I often laugh at each other, and that's what it is all about. If you're not happy when fishing then you're doing it all wrong I say.
Nice session and great catch from your Dad. Feel for Brett, lost a rod a few weeks ago on a very slow day and just wasn't paying attention. Keep up the terrific work!
That beard 😍 with the cheese. I know its frowned upon but iv always melted coon cheese on abit of blue chuck cloth. Always does the trick. Hoping i get a yellowbelly this weekend. Trying out the chasebaits mudbug for them.
Hiya rob Well firstly.....WELL DONE DAD !!!! What a cracking fish...mate I got to agree on your comment regarding the duck 🍽 lol... Mate I hope your all safe n well, all the very best . 😎🇬🇧
Looked like a great arvo out with family and mates, you can’t beat it👍 Oh that was a very fancy release of the second yella, very fancy indeed. Thanks for sharing Love your work
Bloody awesome bait session Robbie! Wow what a nice fish your dad got aswell mate. And you got some nice fish also. Poor Brett aswell! The king of corkers he is
Shit Man...crying hard...lost my dad in 1990 at 60yrs old...use to go to kurnell and tom uglys bridge in SYDNEY..you should be blessed hes about..im jealous..tc Robbie 😩😪😊🍺🇦🇺
Thanks so much mate. That would certainly be amazing although I would feel bad for not being able to reply to all my comments. I already struggle but do my best.
OMG Brett, not another corker!!! Nobody does it like he does and then broke the tip when he got it back lol. If it wasn't so sad, you might be tempted to have a laugh at his expense, eh Robbie??? Great to see numbers of small fish in the system and stonker cod Dad!
Haha Frank, yes I was overwhelmed by temptation. Haha It's all good, Brett got revenge last night when he rudely interrupted a scene that I was filming. Haha
Do you ever do night fishing? I've noticed here in Queensland around 7-8 at night. So basically, pitch black, the yellow belly have been biting awesome. Got a 52 cm yellow belly last week. Idk if it's because it's winter atm but night fishing has been great. Day fishing has been very poor in the creek I fish in.
Isn’t there parts of Australia that there are huge Murray Cod, or is it a different fish that I’m thinking of ? I watched a tv show one time and they were catching fish like them in Australia that were like 3 feet long.
Go mate, yep thays these ones. They grow well over 3 feet long, even over 4 feet and over 100lb. My biggest is 98cm, about 3 feet. Those mo syers are more common in other areas. We get a few here, but most are around 60cm or under where I live.
Do you think jamjucks work better than other worms you buy from tackle stores? What cheese did you use and do you think there is a limit for the worm and cheese? Great video mate👍
Hi Henry, I use tasty cheese mate. Jan Juc worms are much fatter and juicier than other worms, and they have very thing and tough skin. Whether they catch more than other worms or not I don't know, but they have certainly been working very well for me.
Hi Greame, I find that they slow right down at tgis time of the year. You may catch one or two if you're lucky but I wouldn't be expecting too much. I think thst the further downstream you are the more likely you might be to catch a yella in winter, just because the weather down around Mildure is usually 2 or 3 degrees warmer than it is up around the Albury end.
Poor Bret very dear afternoon fishing hope his rod wasn’t a dear one ,good to see everyone out trying to catch a fish is their any yellow tag cod up your way ?
Hey Robbie Great video. We've going down to the Goulburn river and caught a couple of small cod too but there are more bits then hook ups with our cheese rods. What type of cheese and what sized hook do U use??
Hi mate, I am not sure of the size of the hook, but I like them to be bigger than what I would use for yellowbelly or redfin. I prefer tasty cheese mate.
Was in mulwala this weekend No luck in the lake River they didnt touch lures but got 9 on cheese and worms between 20 and 45cm Heaps of small ones about at the moment
Hi mate, it depends on what type of worms you have. I store my Jan Jucs on the door in the fridge. I don't put them at the back of the fridge because it is too cold.
Hi mate, I usually use two when using Jan Juc worms. With regular garden worms it might be as many as 4 or 5. With big scrub worms it is usually 1 or 2.
Just a bit cheesy with the cheese Just a quick silly one Robbie , why do you use Jan jac worms 🪱 instead of Nathalia night crawlers ..... maybe an alert for cash for comments....
Thanks Andrew. To be honest mate, they send them to me. They originally sent a punnet to my mail time, so I used them and loved them. Now when I run out I send them an email and they send me more. And to be honest, if I was to buy my worms, I would use Jan Jucs over any other worms. I have absolutely nothing against Nathalia Night Crawlers, or any other worm suppliers, but the Jan Jucs are 3 times the size and 4 tomes as juicy. They're also much stronger and stay on the hook a lot better.
@@robbiefishing I was just wondering that's all Robbie. Geez wasn't lake Malwala boat ramps packed when I went past them yesterday morning. I think everywhere along the rivers would of been the same

Thanks mate, and WOW well done, go you! Hopefully the start of bigger things to come this season for you mate.
@@robbiefishing yes hopefully
Cod opening has to be the best time of year, a golden couple of weeks juuuuust before it gets too hot to want to continue existing!
Yep... I agree mate. Once the extreme heat arrives the fishing seeks to slow right down. December is definitely the best month in my area.
Iv got 4 yellow belly & 8 Murray cod today when fishing.. awesome day it was Robbie 👍
WOW mate that's so awesome. Well done buddy.

Getting IN to any shrimpies yet?
Not yet mate, they've been very quiet. Very few shrimp nibbles on the worms. I suspect the cool and wet spring may have something to do with that.
@@robbiefishing Ok.

Night time fishing can be very productive mate. I sometimes fish into the night but that's about it. I'm too old. Haha
Yeah, I get that. Cab be a pain doing it at night. Sometimes I just do a camp out for the night . Do you ever use live yabbies and shrimp for bait?
I still haven’t caught me first cod. This Canberra weather isn’t the best. What time of day do you think is best for boat fishing lures for cod?
Hi Henry, any time of the day will do but I prefer sunrise and sunset.
Hey mate. Another ripper of a video. It’s good to see the juvenile cod about. Have they been stocked into the river system ?
Thanks mate. The cod haven't been stocked but the yellowbelly have. The trout cod were last stocked about 2005 I think.

They really go off the bite in winter in my area mate. You might catch 1 or 2 if you're lucky but they're very hard to catch in winter.
