Fun fact... they used an Infineon processor because Infineon was a Siemens subsidiary until 1999. Same reason why my former Fujitsu-Siemens laptop had Infineon-branded RAM.

Almost correct. Infineon was created in 1999 as a spin off of Siemens semiconductor. Infineon is still very much alive and kicking.
