I had one in storage for 25 years, the thing just worked when I took it out. Always so impressed en smiling from ear to ear when I use one of my monkeys.
I posted an update video on this bike last week. Put a new tank and side cover on it. I still need to paint the forks, then it will be a nice little bike.

I was actually very surprised when I went back and watched the video and saw I didn’t put any safety gear on. That’s not typical of me. I’m going to blame it on being too focused on how I was going to get that chain guard to work. 😂
loved the series and the longer videos. would have liked to have seen you paint the bottom of the tank and the wheels. great job though, love the content
Thanks! I didn’t paint the bottom of the tank because I fully expected it to leak and I’d be doing more work on it. I came in this morning and it’s still dry…..amazing.
Did you ever sell the bike? I just picked up a running Z50 engine today. My plans are to piece together a bike, but make it just a little prettier than yours. I also have an XR50 clone, that I may put the Z50 engine on. Since I don't have your parts stash, there's no telling what direction I'll end up going. By the way, I'm only about 20 minutes from Mike's Mini Trail. Thanks for another great video.
@@MiniBikeMike im 6. 4 i want too cruise on a ct70 but i didnt want to get a mc license.. although that z 50 monkey bike might be fun...reminds me of that jim carey movie dumb and dumber when he cruises around on one

My brother and I got one of these for Christmas around 1973, and this video is a lot of fun to watch. I want to find one now!

I'm glad you mention the safety glasses.

Everyone is responsible for there own safety. Those who complain are the PC crowd that’s always in others business.
Always enjoy a long shop vid! Thanks for bringing us along.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Turned out pretty cool from what you started with. I’d leave it the way it is.
Thanks! I’m actually shocked at how well it turned out. I’m with you, I like it as is.
Awesome riding in the shop.
You really brought that back from the grave.
I’m not gonna lie, I had my doubts on how well it would turn out…..but I’m really happy with it.
Glad you posted this. Was looking for it. Have a good Holliday. 🎄
Thanks John!
Het is je weer gelukt, leuk om te zien hoe jij van verschillende onderdelen een leuke rijder van hebt gemaakt , geweldig
Thank You Pter!
Love the mad max build, sir kinda wanted to hear it run with the straight pipe :)
Thanks! I’m not sure if that muffler actually muffles anything. It’s close to be straight piped. 🤣
Really enjoyed this series Mike!

Excellent job Mike. A day earlier and it might have been loaded in a truck today…lol
He had room for one or two more. 😂
Thank you. Great project to follow along with.
I appreciate you took the time to watch and comment. Thanks!
If you have any spare spacers that come with a tv wall mount kit I’d imagine you could make those work for the tank mount
Looks great to me
Sweet.

Yeah, it went to Mark at Habit Moto in North Carolina. I really like the ugly bikes. I’m never afraid of scratching them. 🤣
Have a feeling frames are different
Do you need $15 to buy a plastic fit one , Eye protection ?
Is a z50 and z70 frames different .i want to ride incognito without mc endorsement lol thanx
I don’t know what a z70 is, not heard of that one.
@@MiniBikeMike ct70
@@claytonkirby878 the frames are completely different style, but they share the same engine mounting pattern.
