I've always wanted to see and play a modern version of A&A; thanks for the review

I agree. The best thing is that this game will be more than just unit combat. The diplomacy and technology aspects of the game really add a lot of dimension to the game.

In the future, this game maybe like Axis and allies become table game?

Yes. The designers are still currently playtesting and improving the game design using Table Top Simulator. Their hope is that enough interest is shown in the game to make it practical to shift to the production of a physical game.

Very cool; glad I ran into this. I joined the discord, thanks. Like you, the player count will be an issue. My play group absolutely loves War Room, and we never play it. Takes too many players and takes too long. Any game released these days almost needs a good AI so you can have a 2 player game plus AI.
Also, just wondering if there are hidden orders like in War Room or if the movements are more like A and A?
Also, last one....when a hit is made, who determines what is lost? In A and A, it's the defender, which has always annoyed me, but in War Room, the person doing the attacking decides. Of course in war room only certain dice can hit certain targets so that helps.

Unfortunately the game is currently only balanced for 5. Moves are made openly and defender usually chooses losses. However there are situations, like cruise missiles, where attacker chooses hits.

Just learning about this and it looks great! Do you know if there are any plans to make a physical version of the game?

When the game is finished there are plans for a physical version as well as a TTS version.

Have any of you guys payed Historical Board Game's Global War 2025?

I hadn't heard of it before, but I just checked it out. Global War 2025 looks more like a copy of A&A using modern combat units. I feel like Code Atlas is more unique in that it adds notable element of inter-player diplomacy, an in depth Technology upgrade system, and alternatives to traditional combat for territorial acquisition via placement of embassies.

Looks great, but have a feeling we’re gonna have to wait another year to two years because of the Kickstarter mess

No plans for a Kickstarter yet, as we're still building our audience and polishing the game.

Is this game meant to compete in the same marketspace as "War Room"?

    • @HaveYouNoGame
      @HaveYouNoGame  10 місяців тому +5

I think this game has the potential to compete in any game marketspace. Comparing Code Atlas and War Room is a little bit of an Apples to Oranges situation. War Room is a great game, carrying a rating of 8.3 on BGG, and is/was on my wish list. I say "was" because I missed my opportunity to get it at the $149/$137 Kickstarter prices and at this point, I have no intention of paying $240 for it. I imagine others feel the same. Secondly, War Room is a WW2 game, whereas Code Atlas is a modern warfare/diplomacy game, both with notably different mechanics.

@@HaveYouNoGame thank you for sharing your insights, I missed the War Room kickstarter as well and no way I'm dropping over $200 on a board game. It also seems to be ages between their publishing runs.
I did not know that Code Atlas was Modern Warfare, good to know.

@@Army1SGRetired You're welcome! I definitely recommend checking out their Discord channel. Links are in the video description. The developers are very friendly and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give you a tour of the game and a chance to play it if you have Table Top Simulator.
