I've been a giggle box all my life. I don't have autism, but I have ADD. I used to get in trouble in school and sent out of the classroom as well. I don't laugh at the expense of anyone else. I have a great deal of empathy for everyone, so I don't see laughing as a problem as long as I'm not hurting anyone's feelings. I actually love this about myself. It helps me through the hard times and I genuinely enjoy life more than most people do.
I get those laughing attacks at random thoughts at the worst times. Like in class! The more I try to fight it the worst it gets. My shoulders start moving up and down and I just can't help it. I've had to excuse myself before. I'm going to have to try your suggestion
When I was at school I would smile and laugh as a coping thing because being at school for me was so stressful. The laugh became a smirk as I tried to keep it under control. When I was at school the teachers could still hit you and insult you at any moment. I didn't know I was autistic at the time. Only worked that out last year some 30 years after leaving school. God, I hated that school. Think, I would be been better off with one on one education at home but my parents were poor and couldn't afford it. They say school is the best part of your life. I say bollocks to that. If being bullied, abused and made fun of for 12 or 13 years is the best part of your life they can keep it.
I often create hypothetical scenarios in my head about people I know. I imagine them in ridiculous situations and how they would likely react and I find that hilarious. That sounds like something similar to what you’re talking about. It doesn’t really bother me when people think I’m weird. I know I’m socially awkward and I have just accepted it. I’m totally harmless, anyway
I don't have autism, but I have pretty severe ADHD. I find it really valuable to learn about the way different people perceive things and react to the world. Honestly, I feel like being human itself is one giant spectrum! But there is the "average" where more people than not fall into the "center" of the spectrum of being human and (sadly) are the ones who determine the "acceptable norms" of our society. If you fall outside of those "norms" in your perceptions, reactions or interactions, everyone thinks you're wrong and that they're right of course. They immediately label you and (if you're lucky) you're then tolerated as "one of those people with Autism" or "one of those people with ADHD," when in fact it could just as easily be that they are "one of those boring, uncreative, middle of the road people" who conform to accepted norms and and prevailing conceptual reality, AND who have nothing particularly unusual or interesting about them. 😂 All I can say is, who make them the deciders of what's normal or good or acceptable? As long as someone isn't hurting another or stealing or doing other unethical behavior, let them be and respect them as who they are. Anyway, I'm glad more and more people are sharing what their inner world is like for them so that others who are like them (and not in the center of the human spectrum) can realize that there are many others out there just like (or similar) to them and that they're not alone or wrong or bad or whatever. I remember when I finally was diagnosed it was a great relief to know there were many others like me and I wasn't lazy, or stupid, etc. Keep sharing yourself. It makes a difference!
I have cats. My cats have fleas. If I treat my cats with a preparation they won’t have fleas. If I give my cats away, I won’t have cats (or fleas). I am Autistic. It’s not separable from who I am.
@@tracik1277 You also have feet, a nose, a brain and eyes..... and they are not separate from who you are. Just because a person is Autistic does not mean they don't have Autism. I'm Autistic too and I don't like it when people correct people because they word something differently. Wording something different from you is neurodiversity....which an Autistic person should understand.
@@samamsterdam4301 ok have a good day Edit: Ah, the wonders of slow Autistic processing. Actually what you said is nonsense. My feet could be separated from me in a car accident let’s say; my nose could be lost to syphilis (although that is extremely unlikely since I am asexual); my brain could be completely annihilated to all intents and purposes through a stroke; and my eyes could be taken from me in a brutal and most unreasonable act of vengefulness over the price of a veal pie and brandy. I would still be Autistic.
That's why in the video I say when you end up laughing out of random, just say "What I am laughing at has nothing to do with you. You don't know who it is so you are not going to find it funny."
What's wrong with thinking of funny thoughts? What do other people choose to think of when they aren't thinking of things they have to? Nothing wrong with a good sense of humor. I've been kicked out of classes for laughing fits and sent to the school psychologist once. A teacher told me I might have a problem.
Sometimes we have funny thoughts when we are suppose to be concentrating on something. So we do not always develop the thoughts at appropriate times. Thank you for thinking I am Posh, Adorable

Hi there, in fact this is the second time I watch this video because at the third minute I started laughing thinking about something that happened earlier, I had to pause and resume after, but then I was a bit distracted. So today I'm watching it again and I'm laughing again but because you are also funny. I remember when I was grown up kid taking the transports with my mother often she was asking me to stop having that persistent smirk on my face, I was then becoming suddenly so upset, telling myself that humanity sucks! :) Why do you think this is related to autism ?
I think it is related to Autism because we laugh randomly to ourselves, but when we do share the thoughts. Allot of people don't understand us so I think it is better to keep the thoughts to ourselves. We basically end up in our own little world about our funny thoughts. Thank you for finding me funny. I did not think that my videos were funny. I thought that they came across as a bit boring to some people. I am not even trying to be funny. Depending on what thought we are thinking about, we do pull certain faces. I will make a video on Facial Expressions in the future. I promise you. Who are you? Where do you come from? and How old are you? What do you find so funny about me?
@@memyselfandaspergers1331 I get it ! :) I do share my thoughts too easily, they just come out, I have hurt people by doing so and I have lost at least one job because of that. Have you done a piece on disproportionate responses to everyday events. Our son has Asperger’s and several times a day goes from 0 to 100 on the angry rage mode just because we asked him to do something (after the 10 minutes transition prep too) - he is 13 will he grow out of it?
Things that may seem disproportionate from your perspective are 100% reasonable from our perspective. We do perceive and process things differently than neurotypical people. But our perceptions are every bit as valid as yours are.
