Hi Fi😅na I have just started watching your tutorials. I am 😅n awe of your talent as an artist and a teacher. Your expertise is magical and your tutorials are amazing Thank you for your brilliant work you are so generous with
You absolulety can, I have just sepnt several days with the British Guild at a big show and we made so many to show people what to do with left over bits ;) They are so much fun to do and would get a big 'Wow' whenever we revealed the pattern to people :)
Having followed you for several years and learning so much, I can only shake my head in awe at your incredible talent both as an artist and a teacher. Thank you so much for making polymer clay such a joy!
Thank you. I always learn, or am reminded of things I need to work on, from your videos. Your attention to detail and precision are both incredible. Thank you for all the work you do to bring these to us!
This cane is so interesting! A completely different approach to creating a kaleidoscope cane. A reminder that there are so many ways to put one together. This also reminds me of tree's life rings. I am making it now in a subdued palette to represent the rings, moss and mushrooms. Hope it comes out.
Oh, how I love your caning videos, Fiona! (It was well worth the wait!). This one will be a test of my skills but I look forward to trying it. Thank you for your hard work and dedication! 🥰
I always learn so much from you ❤️ your techniques are so wonderful and easy to learn from. I love them a lot BC it makes me re evaluate my own work and struggles and where I need improvement. So thank you for teaching all of us ❤️
I am so grateful for people thinking of me, as you did, I am very lucky to have people who watch my videos, so a heartfelt thank you from me, for your thoughtfulness and kindness :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals, I don’t think it’s luck. I see you working REALLY diligently on some of your creative ideas and then kind enough to share them. Share away! I’m pleased.
Ummm... WOW!!! Without the time lapse, how long did it take you to produce this amazing piece!? Your time and dedication is so appreciated. Slicing is my weakness, as I am very new to this, you make it look so easy. Your precision it spot on! Thank you Fiona! Just beautiful ☺️😍
Thank you so much, I don't actually time myself, so sorry, can not say exactly how long it took. As to slicing, other than investing in a cane slicer it is sadly just a case of practice, practice practice ;) You should have seen me when I started, my slices were awful, I had to chuck more than I kept, so I started practicing on lumps of scrap clay I made into cane logs just to save wasting all the canes. I eventually got there, and you will too, just keep at it :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals thanks for the pearls ☺️ I am sure I’ll get there. Im going to try a fade to black with some canes I’ve made. And thank you for your videos they’re so helpful and so beautiful!
I have been have been using premo but since that is not available I started using Fido but the but the problem with that is with conditioning it just chews up and splits when I put it in the pasta machine and it is so crumbly that it’s hard to do a project I don’t know what to do
That sounds like you have a very old batch of Fimo :( Is it soft you are using or professional ? either way they shouldn't do that straight out of the packet if they are fresh. However, older Fimo can sometimes do that. I have a video which will probably help a lot as I use old clay all the time, so had to learn how to get around this problem. Using the tips in this video, you can still condition the clay fairly quickly and get it into a good usable state. I hope it helps, as there is nothing so frustrating as sitting down to do a project and be faced with packet upon packet of crumbly clay :( - ua-cam.com/video/pFx7frDYJG0/v-deo.html

Oh, thank you. Maybe my concern about you, Fiona, was selfish. I needed a Fiona tutorial fix. I’m so glad you weren’t sick. Happy days.
