This is definitely one of my top favorite boss fights in games. The build up is intense, the reveal is amazingly terrifying, the music is great, the design is so out of place of the main game, the fight itself is crazy, the sound effects are fun, it's just a really fun boss fight and it's definitely one of my all time favorite boss fights in games. I wish there was a way to go back and fight bosses in the game without restarting everytime because I would play this boss constantly
My favorite thing about it is that it isn't actually very difficult, but it *seems* nearly impossible just because of how chaotic it is. Especially the finale where it's a never-ending onslaught from Flowey, but the damage scaling is so generous toward the player that you basically just have to keep moving and get most of the healing items and you'll be fine.
@@Gorfinhofin It's the helpless feeling that you get every time that you face Flowey that really terrifies the player since it's a boss that is shown throughout the game as small and cannot do much since he is nothing more than a flower (granted a mischievous flower, but still a flower nonetheless). Once you are taken into the black room with your save data and then having it be deleted in front of you, really shows a perspective of how Flowey does have the upper hand on you and wishes to stop you at all costs. Flowey is the biggest boss in the game as he fills 3/4ths of the screen with his massive plant body, while your soul is small and you don't have the turn based combat that you have been used to throughout the entire game. Not only does the size of Flowey terrify the player but the fact that Flowey manipulates the battlefield in his own favor by saving and loading points from YOUR deleted save which you are forced to have no control over. It's the other 6 souls in which Flowey uses in order to stop you, that turns the tables and helps you by healing, showing that you still have a fighting chance and that the souls are still able to help you. It's the one moment after the last of the souls attack you and they all come out to give you the thumbs up, hope, flower, music note, egg and bandage symbolize everything positive and determination to finally finish Flowey from his cheating tactics.
i get exactly what you are saying, they really nailed the visuals in this part. If I was still a kid, this would of actually scared me. But even then, they still managed to make it feel unsettling to older players.
+zombiepenguin But I'm damn glad I experienced it. When somebody ask me what is a nightmare fuel followed by ultimate hope, followed by a total mindfuck, I'll direct them to this.
at what time of day did you fight Flowey? I must say, doing it around 2AM isn't very smart.. Talking with experience here.. Hey, at least I managed to fall asleep at 4! :D
+zombiepenguin Of course not. You can never experience it a second time either. First and second time experiences only happen once (unless you rewind time).
I love how when the "Finale" theme plays, and the base drops, all of his attacks' speed drastically increases. It's like after he realizes how hard you can hit him, he Desperately throws everything he has at you, in a last ditch attempt to beat you. Or he's just toying with you 😑
The technical design that had to go in to make this fight is just amazing. Having to autosave data just to "crash" your game (PC version) and then pick up right back where it left off when you restart, plus quite possibly the only "save state" attack from a boss in a videogame ever ... it is legitimately creepy , but in an awesome way.
Easily the most disturbing part in Undertale. The thing itself, the twitching face on the TV, the noise Flowey makes when you hit him at low health. Also, when his defense drops to 0, it's easily the best moment in Undertale.
You know flowery at the beginning of the fight does a small “ooh” to tease you but once you get through all the souls he starts a violent GRUEGH! love the small details
@@deeadbathory sorry to necropost but papyrus actually does reference Flowey as flowery. I don't remember what you have to do but I think you have to call him in a certain place in waterfall.

What I like of this game are the details, for example the human souls. Speaking of the human souls, i have the feeling that when flowey saves and load files, he uses the human souls files i mean Frisk has save files, so maybe other humans does too
Looking at the face in the screen, it sometimes looks like it's saying "RUN" early on or "SHIT" later during the fight. And then "FUCK" or "NO" when he's getting beaten up. Then other times it just looks like something that means I'll never sleep again.
It’s Toby’s Steam profile pic, so it could be Toby. But then again it’s probably a reference to Giygas, a character from Earthbound, Toby’s main inspiration for Undertale. Giygas looks like Memoryhead, but with that Omega Flowey face. A subtle, yet hardly noticeable detail, isn’t it?
I love how because he used human souls parts of his body and attacks are partly human features like the teeth on those wierd jumping things, the finger guns that shoot their fingers, the teeth on floweys body. The eyes. They are all photoshopped pictures which makes this even scarier
When i landed that last hit in my playthrough, anger and hatred kept me from being scared. I basically went "DIE.", similar to how I heard Flowey say it at the beginning of the game. And I was doing a pacifist run, too. I spared him. Why? Because if I kill him, IT WOULD SIMPLY END THE PAIN!

I especially love it when the souls heals you fully and Flowey's defense drops to 0, then you finally get to beat the living shit out of that thing. It feels so gratifying.
But Flowey said when he captured Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and Asgore, that with *just* the six human souls + six monster souls, he could achieve his true form. He only ended up absorbing everyone when they came to help Frisk, and when he absorbed everyone else, *that's* how he became the God of Hyperdeath. He could still become the being of immense power he was when he was still a little Boss Monster and absorbed just *one* human soul (Chara's). Remember hearing everyone telling the "Undertale," that Asriel absorbed Chara's soul after he/she died and Asriel obtained his Legendary Being form to break the barrier? Well, as Flowey, who has no soul, he requires the souls of at least one monster and one human to transform into his natural state. But since the main character monsters were there as well as the six human souls, he could absorb them as well and become more powerful. Then when all the *other* monsters tried to intervene, Flowey used that opportunity to absorb *everyone* in the Underground into his being, making him a god. Sounds like the climax of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, where Father used a Nationwide Transmutation Circle to absorb the souls of everyone in Amestris, though the difference was he absorbed them as a means to *reach* God himself and absorb him into his being.
I really like how his sound effect for being hurt changes during the fight. Before the souls help you, Flowey gives a soft "ow" like hes just saying ow to taunt you. When you can actually deal damage to him. The ow gets slowed down And when hes low, he gives actual grunts of pain.
**keeps on dying in boss fights** **somehow manages to survive the Omega Flowey fight in one go** It's probably because I watched Undertale playthroughs before playing the game, but still, I wasn't able to survive boss fights. So... luck?
PinkButterflyGaming maybe it’s because of the way the boss handles health. Unlike any other fight in the game (on pacifist) you have more than 20 health, your defense goes up the more you get hit, and you can only get 1 hit away from death when the souls attack you. So maybe that’s why?
No, it's just much easier than Genocide boss fights. After beating Undyne the Undying, Omega Flowey is a cakewalk. You are free to move around, got free and unlimited health once in a while and if you die the fight starts from the last "in-fight checkpoint". Genocide Undyne or Sans give no mercy at all, you start from the beginning, no free health (you can use consumables ofc, though you lose one precious attack turn after which they can absolutely slaughter you if you're not careful), and they don't get any easier, no matter how many times you die. The game was designed to be easy in Neutral and True Pacifist, and a real nightmare in Genocide. Believe me, if you want some challenge you gotta try Genocide. Also, True Pacifist Asriel Dreemurr does pretty much the same: no free health, but you can start off from the last "in-fight checkpoint", which is sort of a joke compared to Sans.
I really love this; it was a great twist at the end of the game and something I didn't expect. I was really confused when my game started glitching out and I got angry, so I kept restarting it. Little did I know that I had something way worse than a glitch to deal with... The way the game played with the notion of save files was absolute perfection.
The worst part about this fight is that Flowey at no point talks to Frisk. He's talking to the player directly and letting them know who is in control. Frisk becomes little more than an interaction tool to fight.
I love the idea of the six human souls protecting Frisk and standing up to Flowey. I also like to think there were some hints as to who the souls were before they were killed here too. Like in those parts of the boss fight where the soul appears on Flowey's monitor and you have to do a unique challenge before calling for help? Cyan soul: The challenge was to avoid swords so was this soul a warrior of some kind before they died? Orange soul: This challenge was about gloves. Kinda hard to figure anything out based on just that but maybe they were a costumed hero or something and the gloves were part of that costume? Blue soul: This challenge was to avoid ballet shoes stomping on you and then to collect musical notes to heal up. Probably some kind of dancer or musician. Pink soul: It seemed like this challenge was about hard drives firing words at you. Maybe a kind of computer geek/writer? Yellow soul: The challenge was to avoid bullets fired from a gun. Cowboy/girl possibly? I dunno, like a lot of this game it's interesting to think about.
creepiest part of the fight is that human looking head in black and white. And on a thing made by a twisted photoshopper (or Toby Fox ) that's not saying something
my mom came inside my room while i was beating this boss and she just stared at me with this "what the actual fuck" face while i tried to explain while at the same time trying to beat the boss??//?? it was really awkward
Did you notice that the human souls the Flowey has are the same as when you fight the monsters?Ex.Theres a green human soul,Undyne turns you green.Does that mean your friends were once humans?
+Ryan Mumford (Minecraftwithrsonic) After looking into what the colors represent I could be right. Ex green is kindness While at first Undyne is in no way nice to frisk at first she is kind and defensive of her friends and enjoys cooking as did the human that had the green soul. Cyan or light blue one I think represented patience and compassion Which more or less fits Toriel
Hahaha, people thinking that this is the scary stuff, just search up 'all differences in a genocide run' and come tell me how much you hate me for telling you this ;D
The boss is easy as fuck. Just let your hp go down like at 5% percent or something , and that warning comes up, happens everytime. So dont worry about losing after he said he deleted your file and all
+Echedey Ortiz Santana Even if you do lose, which can fully happen, he crashes the game and restarting it will bring you straight back to whatever phase you were on when you died.
"Hah, how could bullet hell bosses possibly be actually scary, and make for epic fights? To actually tug at me to make me feel hopeless , sad, and then hopeful , determined ? " - me before getting Undertale. Boy, was I genuinely surprised. This game is a true gem. Immemorial.
+yams Galore I thought about it, but even if I change the thumbnail, the title is already a spoiler about fighting Flowey, so there is not way around it. People who are still playing the game and want to discover everything, should avoid searching for Undertale videos.
+yams Galore You're looking up shit about the game on the internet, you WILL get spoiled. Don't wanna be spoiled? Don't fuck around looking up shit about the game.

@@lancecurry7538 no, the power of every monsters soul is equal to one human soul, so six human souls and all the monster souls
O o o o meg
I really like how his sound effect for being hurt changes during the fight.
Before the souls help you, Flowey gives a soft "ow" like hes just saying ow to taunt you.
When you can actually deal damage to him. The ow gets slowed down
And when hes low, he gives actual grunts of pain.
This was one of the creepiest boss fights ever in Undertale
Gabriel Abad yup
Gabriel Abad it ruined my undertale life
Brent Wolfe ._.
A Guy Who Likes Games By Dosen't Upload this is the creepiest boss fight in the history of the world
Yeah! I had nightmares and paranoia for a full week after watching this!
(I was 10 and new to Undertale when I saw this)
I swear to god I will get my Master Sword and "trim" this little bastard.
Well why don't you try, oh so called "Blue Bomber"?
+Link, Hero of Hyrule nah, he's jump'nshoot man
OMG LINK! REMEMBER THE TIME U GOT THE HYLIAN LOACH AND GOT NO TWO SHITS OUT OF IT? :D
Eh...
Link can't talk what is this shit
**keeps on dying in boss fights**
**somehow manages to survive the Omega Flowey fight in one go**
It's probably because I watched Undertale playthroughs before playing the game, but still, I wasn't able to survive boss fights. So... luck?
PinkButterflyGaming maybe it’s because of the way the boss handles health. Unlike any other fight in the game (on pacifist) you have more than 20 health, your defense goes up the more you get hit, and you can only get 1 hit away from death when the souls attack you.
So maybe that’s why?
SAME
The same happened for me, I died on Asriel like 26 times (no joke I counted) but did this boss in 1 run
Could also be that you have a lot of DETERMINATION
Everyone saying "WEEE SANS HARD" when this... Thing... Exist.
This was pretty easy. Sans is fucking insane
Flowey is hard too but Sans is extreme since his fight only exists for you to quit.
sans isn't that difficult for me, probably because i memorized all the attacks, but thinking this fight is harder than his is a literal delusion
11:04 when flowey becomes an MLG
7:47 when you get an A on a math test
Oh kid
*just you wait till i use those souls*
Ooohhhhh shhiiiitttt
I don't wanna have a bad time
@@nibwhipdragon *then maybe you should stop doing genocide route and looking at tongue fetishes of me im a skeleton not someones sex toy!(
@Sans
I never did genocide, my friend did, and I don't think you are a sex toy
@@nibwhipdragon good then your gonna get some good times coming
@Sans
Yay!
How kind of flowey.. he even makes his attacks dodge-able!
So THIS is why Undertale was released in Spooptober.
Flowey on Neutral: Kill me.
Flowey on Genocide: Please don't kill me.
DeviantArt in a nutshell.
IM LAUGHING SO HARD RN
why is that so accurate
creepiest part of the fight is that human looking head in black and white.
And on a thing made by a twisted photoshopper (or Toby Fox ) that's not saying something
It's Toby Foxs head but photoshopped
Janet 10 still creepy as shite
Jake Macdonald j
*You called for help....
*But nobody came
*Boy,
*What a shame
-Flowey,2015
my mom came inside my room while i was beating this boss and she just stared at me with this "what the actual fuck" face while i tried to explain while at the same time trying to beat the boss??//?? it was really awkward
Did you notice that the human souls the Flowey has are the same as when you fight the monsters?Ex.Theres a green human soul,Undyne turns you green.Does that mean your friends were once humans?
+AJ Tarena Good observation, I never realized that.
I think that's cause at some point the 6 main friends you make on a pacifist run are meant to become the monster equivalent of the six fallen humans.
Blank Blanky Ohhhhhhh
+Ryan Mumford (Minecraftwithrsonic)
After looking into what the colors represent I could be right.
Ex green is kindness
While at first Undyne is in no way nice to frisk at first she is kind and defensive of her friends and enjoys cooking as did the human that had the green soul.
Cyan or light blue one I think represented patience and compassion
Which more or less fits Toriel
This is my guess:
Toriel: Kindness (Green)
Sans: Justice (Yellow)
Papyrus: Integrity (Blue)
Undyne: Bravery (Orange)
Alphys: Perseverance (Purple)
Asgore: Patience (Cyan)
9:45 Flowey has an authentic trollface!

I had no idea he was actually called "Photoshop Flowey" by Toby. Huh. The more you know.
+Squiddy 0912 This form is really Omega Flowey, but fans have dubbed it 'Photoshop Flowey'.
+Blank Type 'Ahem.
*that* does not have a special name. it's just Flowey.
Hahaha, people thinking that this is the scary stuff, just search up 'all differences in a genocide run' and come tell me how much you hate me for telling you this ;D
I still think this shit is scarier than chara.exe laughing at you
its an hour long...
Kid Artist Worth
People haven't seen Giygas if they think this is the scariest boss ever
Hawking Z I still need to play Earthbound
The boss is easy as fuck.
Just let your hp go down like at 5% percent or something , and that warning comes up, happens everytime.
So dont worry about losing after he said he deleted your file and all
+Echedey Ortiz Santana Even if you do lose, which can fully happen, he crashes the game and restarting it will bring you straight back to whatever phase you were on when you died.
***** Yup, but what's the point of crshing the game?
Echedey Ortiz Santana
To emphasize how evil he is, duh.
ofc. but he overexagerates Xd
Amen, I didn't know that

When you get *DESTROYED* by a flower but edit it out
"Hah, how could bullet hell bosses possibly be actually scary, and make for epic fights? To actually tug at me to make me feel hopeless , sad, and then hopeful , determined ? " - me before getting Undertale.
Boy, was I genuinely surprised. This game is a true gem. Immemorial.
This boss is just one big “Delete the game or you’re gonna have a bad time” kinda deal.
That thumbnail with that title is a spoiler. Can you change the thumbnail image please?
+yams Galore I thought about it, but even if I change the thumbnail, the title is already a spoiler about fighting Flowey, so there is not way around it. People who are still playing the game and want to discover everything, should avoid searching for Undertale videos.
+Fasgort you could always rename it to nutral ending final boss and change the thumbnail
+Fasgort I just think that the idea of fighting Flowey isn't as much as a spoiler as the big reveal of his intimidating final form.
+yams Galore Welp. I'm gonna try this new thumbnail.
+yams Galore You're looking up shit about the game on the internet, you WILL get spoiled. Don't wanna be spoiled? Don't fuck around looking up shit about the game.
In a sick and twisted way, I feel sorry for Flowey when he dies.
The creepiest thing about this is the screen.

Micro Wayv yep pretty much
Its more like a touhou boss
You forgot the difference that Cuphead isn't scary at all, (with the exception of selling your souls to the devil)
Name for another channel. ((
Actuallly im realizing its a dumb conclusion but ok
I just finished beating Omega Flowey
I killed some monsters...
So I had to do play undertale again and go Pacifist to get my happy ending....>:

Does this affect the hard-drive or just the game?
Toa Sully i dont know but maybe its because i dont have a good computer
I'm predicting the game itself crashes, since I loaded up the game on an alternate hard drive

"Me trying to prepare for my math exam tommorow at 3 am"
That one question:
Undertale knew it would be a meme in one way or another.
if you look and listen carefully, before the fight starts,
Your brain will make out the sound floweys text makes as words
if you look at the text
Wow
Holy shit that flower is fucking insane
The floweys death at the end is so crazy
9:07 Omega Flowey goes gruhu instead of ow
Who would win:
A giant god who got the 6 souls of the whole entire underground and has the power to do anything in existence....
Or.....
One red boi.
RED BC HÉ IMPOSTOR
So, since he erased your save, what exactly happens if you die or hard-quit the game after that? Is the save completely gone for reals?
Ah. That's pretty clever. Reminds me of Dark Souls' save system, but less blatant.
+The Pixelated Mario The game window also displays the name "Floweytale"
+Aphex Pesuto He pulls a Resetti on you, to reference a similar mechanic.
+The Pixelated Mario If you die, you hear Asgore say "it's just a bad dream..." and then Flowey interrupts with "AND YOU'RE NEVER WAKING UP!" Then he spams you with craploads of laughing.
