I love how Sans is in the Pacifist ending. The whole time he’s prepared to kill you because he knows what will happen if you start gaining EXP. But, if you don’t gain any EXP, he realizes that the Pacifist Frisk is different from the other Frisks or Charas he’s seen. He gains hope and actually roots for you against Asriel which is amazing

Sans doesnt remember other RESETs and Timelines. He has reports about time distortions and anomalies but never full on remembers them. Also, I think you mean Players, Frisk is a meat puppet and Chara only starts killing when YOU start killing, and even then it's only 3 people (Asgore, Flowey, Sans). Everyone else, if killed, is done purely out of YOUR actions, and the 3 killed by Chara wouldnt even be dead in the first place if a Genocide run was not started.

I’ve never noticed this before, but towards the end of the fight, where Asriel breaks down and is calling out to Chara, the narration goes strangely and deliberately silent: “…” I don’t think there is any other important point in the game where this happens.
as far as i know, the only times that the narration in battle goes silent like that is: - in toriel's fight after she stops attacking you - during asgore's fight - and in this fight after the flashback of asriel and chara plays so only in fights with the dreemurrs 🤔 if you take the narrator chara theory into account then it makes sense why the narration would be silent during emotional moments like this, especially with how asriel is pretty much pouring his heart out here.

Through their *DETERMINATION* Frisk understands that their defense must be more than ♾. So in the end they do the only thing they can. Frisk plays along with the childish game and forces their defense to become ♾+1.
This fight is actual perfection in my opinion it truly brings the whole way you have been playing the game into one big culmination of everything good about the pacifist route. i dont think there will ever be a game that nails something like this
21:22 is one of the most emotional parts of the entire game imo. Just Asriel flashing through his emotions stemming from him not being able to kill you is just perfect writing. When the health bar started dropping into the decimals I think everyone here started tearing up
This game was my childhood, I'm so glad I grew up in this awesome community and never left ever since. You know you're a great game developer when your game manages to make a bunch of people cry, incuding me. I loved Asriel when I was little and I still really do, even after all he's done, he's still such a sweet and wholesome character. Thank you, Toby, for making a masterpiece of a game and making our childhood much better.
My favourite line in this fight or maybe in the whole game is : "it seems that saving the game is really impossible... but maybe with what little power you have left you can save something else". I don't know why maybe its because save the world just fades in or idk

Dang, Asgore really had a rough time before Flowey even came. First he got roasted by his ex-wife(figuratively, and literally from Toriel's fire), and then sees that she is more interest in a skeleton in a sweatshirt that does literally nothing and makes bad puns over him.

Notice how Flowey traps all the characters with 2 strips of vines, but Papyrus with FOUR. Flowey said he has done everything meaning he might've seen Papyrus' true power. And also one of the vines broke one of hus arms in half. So Papyrus is so strong, Flowey with the 6 souls has to make sure Papyrus doesn't escape by breaking his arm. Even Sans only has 2 stripes. Sans is stronger than Undyne The Undying. This means Papyrus is more than twice as strong as Undyne The Undying. And at least twice as strong as Sans. Also Undyne herself said Papyrus is pretty freaking tough. UNDYNE said that. A monster who can easily suplex boulders for fun without breaking a sweat, fold an envelope so hard you need a chainsaw to open it, throw Alphys like a pebble, and live past death, says Papyrus is tough. We haven't seen Papyrus' true power and probably never will, but Flowey and Undyne has. The reason he never uses his full power against us is because he's afraid it'll kill us. I think you’ve got a point. Undyne has said that Papyrus is too goofy to hurt anyone… which is true, he is very happy go lucky and is all about giving people puzzles and what not instead of fighting seriously. But that doesn’t mean he’s weak. Just like Sans doesn’t care about fighting most of the time and only gives it his all when he truly has no other choice. In papyrus’ case, he never has the desire to go all out. Even when he fights genocide frisk, he doesn’t give it his all because he still believes in you… he believes you can change and tries to spare you instead.
sans logic: sans: *kills you 2198409184 times, do bleckout on screen, stop the time, throw gaster blaster, bones, dodges.* sans: oh look a little flower, he did the genocide too, i remember, but let's lose just to this happen.
it's not that simple, sans knows what the player is trying to do and that the end result is the complete destruction of the timelines, however if you reset normally on the cusp of finishing a genocide run he ignores you and treats you as if you did not attempt the genocide run. sans only cares if you are trying to destroy the universe, he says after seeing what comes next i can't afford to do nothing, this is proof that sans knows that the world will be destroyed.
This was the first ever video I watched that was undertale related. I believe the video was only a couple of months old back then. In that one singular moment, my life was changed. Thank you for being the person who introduced me to undertale.
If I’m being honest, what got me was 17:14 I mean, haven’t finished the game, but knows Sans is aware of different timelines, and he knows there’s good inside us, the players, the humans. None of them intended to hurt us when asriel made them. Everybody loved us. I cried harder here 20:03 Asriel told us everybody cared for us. Everybody loved us. Nobody wanted to hurt us. I’m genuinely crying writing this comment. I know its all fiction, its all a game, but it shows that we could be loved by someone deep down. I learned a lot by this small indie game. I never cried this much for a game, honestly. If anyone is reading this comment, I want you to know, no matter what your life is, someone truly loved you, deep inside. They just don’t show it sometimes. Feel free to vent in the comments. I’m basically doing that here. Even if it’s some silly game characters, someone loves you. Please, learn from this comment.
"But it refused." This game does such a good job of making you feel like the character. I felt just a bit like a badass when that line came up, like Frisk's soul had planted their foot firmly in the ground and defied everything, including the game. God I love the pacifist run. Problem is I don't think I even want to try a genocide run. The ending was so happy as it is. Oh, and another thing. The sound design in this fight was spot on, I loved it. The voice bites system for dialogue that undertale uses is pretty smart, and the one they chose for adult Asriel felt perfect. There's something inhuman about it, but it's also kind of musical. It mixes well with the music and attack effects which give the whole this sense of impact. Combine that with the "but it refused" line I mentioned and you really feel like you're battling a godlike being.
Not even reading the replies to this, just have to say: do the genocide run, reset if you need to before the end (to not corrupt your file.) You'll understand Flowey/Asriel so much better, and why they went off the deep end. You explore the motivations that give Undertale its depth and lend to its true meaning; judge not, for you have not all the facts. People can change, and you should always reach out to connect with someone before you choose to destroy or support them. It will make you cry just as Pacifist did. And, maybe, ask just what hell you've done to your favorite fictional characters.
The purpose of the genecyde run will reveal more about what really happened, and also it ties into San's story and how he knows you can control time by resetting. Its why hes the unbeatable character (well suppose to be unbeatable), because he knows if you cant beat him, you cant proceed, and eventually you'll quit and reset the timeline, and everyone gets brought back to life. As for the story reveal, it reveals Chara's true intentions. She was painted out as a kind child in the pacifist run, but it was all her fault Asriel even died. It will ruin your perspective on the game, and I feel that was its true purpose, was to put you on a path you could never return from, and technically never reset from since your save file will forever be corrupt with Chara unless you purge undertale from your computers system.
Yeah in the neutral run before true pacifist you hang out with sans at grillbys and he said to me, “hey kid, have you heard of talking flowers?” And there is eerie music and he explains that papyrus was talking with one. Sans never knew of flowey so he assumed it’s the echo flower from the waterfall. But really, Papyrus was being manipulated into accidentally trapping the bosses. The hang out was a hint that papyrus would talk about that
Really hard pressed to find games where entire character arcs occur in the setting of a battle, almost like an anime. Most impressive is how it all takes place in the setting of the game rules and system, so its very lunonarratively consistent. Its sappy, but it works. Toby is truly a genius.

Its such a weird feeling, I've only very recently become an undertale fan, yet the cutscenes make me feel the same feeling from nostalgia, its super weird.
The word you're looking for is wistful. It's the same feeling early 90s kids get when they listen to certain vaporware tracks. It's a certain sad kind of nostalgia that kicks in when you are exposed to something that you're attached to with elements of things you'll never get to experience freshly again.

21:22 is one of the most emotional parts of the entire game imo. Just Asriel flashing through his emotions stemming from him not being able to kill you is just perfect writing. When the health bar started dropping into the decimals I think everyone here started tearing up

Notice how Flowey traps all the characters with 2 strips of vines, but Papyrus with FOUR. Flowey said he has done everything meaning he might've seen Papyrus' true power. And also one of the vines broke one of hus arms in half. So Papyrus is so strong, Flowey with the 6 souls has to make sure Papyrus doesn't escape by breaking his arm. Even Sans only has 2 stripes. Sans is stronger than Undyne The Undying. This means Papyrus is more than twice as strong as Undyne The Undying. And at least twice as strong as Sans. Also Undyne herself said Papyrus is pretty freaking tough. UNDYNE said that. A monster who can easily suplex boulders for fun without breaking a sweat, fold an envelope so hard you need a chainsaw to open it, throw Alphys like a pebble, and live past death, says Papyrus is tough. We haven't seen Papyrus' true power and probably never will, but Flowey and Undyne has. The reason he never uses his full power against us is because he's afraid it'll kill us.

I think you’ve got a point. Undyne has said that Papyrus is too goofy to hurt anyone… which is true, he is very happy go lucky and is all about giving people puzzles and what not instead of fighting seriously. But that doesn’t mean he’s weak. Just like Sans doesn’t care about fighting most of the time and only gives it his all when he truly has no other choice. In papyrus’ case, he never has the desire to go all out. Even when he fights genocide frisk, he doesn’t give it his all because he still believes in you… he believes you can change and tries to spare you instead.

it's not that simple, sans knows what the player is trying to do and that the end result is the complete destruction of the timelines, however if you reset normally on the cusp of finishing a genocide run he ignores you and treats you as if you did not attempt the genocide run. sans only cares if you are trying to destroy the universe, he says after seeing what comes next i can't afford to do nothing, this is proof that sans knows that the world will be destroyed.

If I’m being honest, what got me was 17:14 I mean, haven’t finished the game, but knows Sans is aware of different timelines, and he knows there’s good inside us, the players, the humans. None of them intended to hurt us when asriel made them. Everybody loved us. I cried harder here 20:03 Asriel told us everybody cared for us. Everybody loved us. Nobody wanted to hurt us. I’m genuinely crying writing this comment. I know its all fiction, its all a game, but it shows that we could be loved by someone deep down. I learned a lot by this small indie game. I never cried this much for a game, honestly. If anyone is reading this comment, I want you to know, no matter what your life is, someone truly loved you, deep inside. This game does such a good job of making you feel like the character. I felt just a bit like a badass when that line came up, like Frisk's soul had planted their foot firmly in the ground and defied everything, including the game. God I love the pacifist run. Problem is I don't think I even want to try a genocide run. The ending was so happy as it is.
Oh, and another thing. The sound design in this fight was spot on, I loved it. The voice bites system for dialogue that undertale uses is pretty smart, and the one they chose for adult Asriel felt perfect. There's something inhuman about it, but it's also kind of musical. It mixes well with the music and attack effects which give the whole this sense of impact. Combine that with the "but it refused" line I mentioned and you really feel like you're battling a godlike being.

Not even reading the replies to this, just have to say: do the genocide run, reset if you need to before the end (to not corrupt your file.) You'll understand Flowey/Asriel so much better, and why they went off the deep end. You explore the motivations that give Undertale its depth and lend to its true meaning; judge not, for you have not all the facts. People can change, and you should always reach out to connect with someone before you choose to destroy or support them.
It will make you cry just as Pacifist did. And, maybe, ask just what hell you've done to your favorite fictional characters.
The purpose of the genecyde run will reveal more about what really happened, and also it ties into San's story and how he knows you can control time by resetting. Its why hes the unbeatable character (well suppose to be unbeatable), because he knows if you cant beat him, you cant proceed, and eventually you'll quit and reset the timeline, and everyone gets brought back to life.
As for the story reveal, it reveals Chara's true intentions. She was painted out as a kind child in the pacifist run, but it was all her fault Asriel even died. It will ruin your perspective on the game, and I feel that was its true purpose, was to put you on a path you could never return from, and technically never reset from since your save file will forever be corrupt with Chara unless you purge undertale from your computers system.

Its such a weird feeling, I've only very recently become an undertale fan, yet the cutscenes make me feel the same feeling from nostalgia, its super weird.
The word you're looking for is wistful. It's the same feeling early 90s kids get when they listen to certain vaporware tracks. It's a certain sad kind of nostalgia that kicks in when you are exposed to something that you're attached to with elements of things you'll never get to experience freshly again.

Even if a given idea isn’t *the next big thing*, it’s still worth noting and can be fun to play with.
Also - it’s possible for a creative work or character to really speak to someone regardless of when it gets picked up (might be years down the line) or how big the audience is. Maybe your idea will end up with a big audience, but - I can also think of smaller content creators here on UA-cam whose work really means a lot to me and to other people who follow them.
