The brother is so eloquent. The documentary was riveting and upsetting but I did indeed enjoy listening to this brother speak so beautifully.

I watched this and was mortified. That woman is insane and there was no justice with her getting out after only two years. She should still be in prison. I’m grateful the family is telling their story.

I watched this documentary with utter horror! This lady not only took advantage of the disabled brother, but the family as well! She sold them a bunch of lies that she could help the brother and she took complete control and advantage! It is disturbing and disgusting knowing that this woman is walking the streets free with the possibility of harming another family! This country is in complete shambles!

you *really* don't understand the situation and are 💯% missing the most important points.
because, *of course,* people with physical disabilities have a right to find love & have relationships.
but the *victim* wasn't *only* physically impaired with CP. he was/is also *greatly mentally* impaired.
so what she did, among many *other* horrific things, is R*PE someone whose *mind* is equivalent to that of a mentally impaired infant or early stage toddler.
and not it as an everyday householder but also as an RN this case sickens me beyond explanation.
hat narcissistic, sociopathic sexual predator should be behind prison bars and *nowhere* else and I hope & pray the D A. gries a spine and finds a way to bring new charges against her that do *not* qualify as an attempt bringing a double jeaopardy case to the courts.
      regarding your comment:🤦🏾

I watched that documentary, and I literally am torn… I don’t know if the family was overprotective and not allowing D to have a relationship with this woman and he really was articulating himself with that device… Or if she was taking advantage of their situation. Only God knows, but a part of me felt sorry for the most caught in the middle. With a serious blockage on communicating what’s going in inside him… What we’re dealing with is the interpretation of two parties and he’s in the middle and I don’t think we’ll ever really know the truth. The family thinks that he’s a victim… But were they just holding him back? The woman fell like she was liberating him… Or was she taking advantage of him? This was a tough one.

Yes but she was there to help him communicate but she did cross a line and try to take over his life for her own selfish benefit. She was a whole married woman with children, talking about "they are in love" - she hadn't even communicated to her husband that the marriage was over and why did it have to physical? Also, suppose her and Derrick were able to have a "relationship", would she take care of him? How would it work? I think her European entitlement kicked in big time as well as she has a fetish for black bodies.

Remember in the documentary, the assistant that had no emotional ties to D! Said that he wrote all those letters in class with his own mind… That’s what made me look at this case as possibly true coming from the woman who they sent to jail. That one professor claiming the device doesn’t work but he was kind of biased and he’s not in that position to really make that call in my opinion. This was a very interesting case. And it’s very hard for the family to be objective because they care for him the way that they do. And we don’t know if that woman was not in her right mind or not or really fell in love with the person that he is.

The only reason this is even remotely confusing is because people are so out of order today.
IF this woman was in LOVE, she would have talked to the man's family since she was in their face every day. Out of RESPECT, she would have wanted to get the family's buy-in to their relationship. Furthermore, with them being a Christian family, the goal should have been marriage not #fornication but OOPS this woman already had WHOLE HUSBAND. #adultery
This woman saw an opportunity to get some black d*ck in a way that still let her play the white savior and that is what she did. She assumed the system would support her in this. And it did.

He miraculously writes like the professor talks and thinks. The person that said he wrote the paper was not in the documentary but hearsay by the victimizer is taken as truth. It was literally a 5 second statement in an hour and 40 minute documentary. Several people questioned the validity (even before the accusations). Even if the machine works (if it does they should have been able to reproduce in court), she was an authoritative figure and should have never thought of a relationship (or whatever you view it as) with him.
