Man, Esteemed Leader sounds so fluffy for Grievous surrounded by B1s. Just grabbing one and throwing it in front of him without care, just like the Clone Wars cartoon, where he's constantly smacking them apart.
I have a game against my brother later today. I'll be playing rebels, and he will be bringing CIS. He also mentioned that he watched this battle report. I'm expecting a lot of poison, and that makes me a little nervous.
Just started the video and already love the lists. This is how I see me running rebels almost to the T. I go back and forth between pathfinders or rebel vets. But super excited to see how this match turns out.
Man that first attack was an ideal situation for dioxis mine wielding BXs and Josh capitalised perfectly. Good on you for hanging in so long, especially with poor dice on your side in general. My local meta has a lot of armour so I'm finding the BXs not as useful but a super cool model for the CIS. Good Batrep, thanks.
"FLASH, FLASH, FLASH" "GAS! GAS! GAS!" "MOPP CONDITION 5! SAY AGAIN MOPP CONDITION 5!!' "GAS, GAS, GAS!" Great BatRep as always. War Corgi never fails to impress..
Love your vids! Keep up the good work. Regarding poison and guardian from esteemed leader, I think you got it wrong. According to rules Jyn is still the defender and so none of the 2 trooper units taking hits for her should get poison tokens.
Thanks for the comment John but I disagree. You are correct when you say they have to deploy within range 1, but Within is described in the RRG: "Within is a term used on cards and in the rulebook when describing range. A unit is within a range if the entirety of the miniature’s base is inside the segment that corresponds to that range." I hope that clears up why I say fully or wholly within.
Omg those BX droids with the dixious charge are absolutely sick. People keep talking about arcs being dangerous, but what about the droid attack on the wookies?
Nice to see a game played after not playing for nearly 10 months now, also cool to see the BX Droids in action as I just picked up the Clone Wars Core Set (but promised myself that I won't play them until I finish all my other painting of all my original faction units). Not a fan of rolling the dice in a tray full of other dice or uneven surfaces (on of the buildings, the playflied and even the dice tray) It was a friendly match so no big deal but if you are as OCD as you say you are . . . :) (I wasn't sure if it was you or your opponent but when I die slipped out and it was blank it got re-rolled and when it was a hit it got kept.) But I really enjoyed the video and I will watch more. I like how you talk through the rules and steps you are taking, and the results and suppression, etc. that was super helpful after not playing for so long with being reacquainted with the game and rules, thank you!
39:05 was wondering if R2 could use a repair on himself. RRG stated to choose a friendly unit at range 1. Didn't know if you count himself in that or if he had to pick another friendly unit. I know he can target C3PO if he wanted since he is technically his own unit, but i didn't think he could target himself
Thanks for the question Mon Capitan. He can absolutely target himself. As you stated above, if the wording included the word "other" or "another" friendly unit, he would not be able to target himself. As it only state "friendly unit" he is allowed to do this.
Talk about being whiffed in the first round by a stink bomb....WOW! You even loose guys after the explosion..... per turn! Josh deployed them well, he played well, but you fought to the end which is the staple of the channel. One question, will Fantasy Flight and Games ever come up with an Anakin Skywalker or any Jedi from the Clone period? I'm basically painting in the Rebel and Empire period and I might change my mind. Looking forward to the next game. Take care.
So the Core Set came with Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin is coming out, along with Maul, in November. Those are the only two Jedi that we have on the side of the Republic so far. Kind regards mate!
Couple of things: 1. Love your battle reports! I will be a patreon supporter soon! 2. Mine placement turn 1 was bumped forward diagonally, C'mon Josh! 3. Needed one more action performed to detonate the bomb. 4. Love your battle reports!
Thanks Scotticus. I actually just closed down my Patreon but appreciate the thought; It was feeling to much like work and taking away my enjoyment of the hobby. What do you mean by point 3? You can detonate after any action, including arming the bomb, unless I misunderstand something.
@@warcorgi3623 You can detonate after any action. Placing the bomb is not a qualifying action though, as the trigger effect occurs after you have placed it. B happens whenever A occurs. A precedes B so another A must happen first! Does that make sense?

I am really not quite sure so maybe somebody can help me out, but when grievous has supression doesn‘t it improve his cover like other troopers since he is not a droid but a cyborg? Or do the normal rules for droids apply to him as well? Which is strange since he can lose actions due to supression. Great batrep as always btw:)
War Corgi I think so. In the round where most of your troopers attacked GG. For example the attack from 1:12:00 onward. Grievous should have had cover due to his 4 supression, but you did the attack with no cover. (I might be wrong though for I‘m fairly new at the Game)
Wow that first turn was brutal, i hate the term Alpha Strike but damn that hurt to watch haha, i have never seen BX used before so i now know what to be wary of. Great batrep!
Josh tried hard to lose that game after an amazing start. Should have played his 1 pip on turn 3 and should have charged Grievous onto melee at the start of turn 4, 5 or 6. He could have spared him damage and all those suppression tokens.
I find Grievous to be a pretty tough to play. Perhaps it is his courage of two, or maybe the need to get him into combat quickly. Whatever the case may be, he leaves little room for error in your play.
@@warcorgi3623 I think you almost have to play him with the thought of which turn you are going to use his 1 pip on. But you can't hesitate. especially if you're playing him with Esteemed Leader. Awesome. Got to see some great use out of the commando droids. Why are the arc troopers and phase 2 clones so hard to get? Love the battle reports. Please keep em coming.
I hope we see some adjustments for units like the Pathfinders. For their cost they just die too fast under any fire, even with Duck & Cover/Danger Sense.
I usually don't talk tactics in the comments but you raise a really good point here. Josh and I discussed it during a game we had over the weekend. He is anxious to use that tactic next time he plays with the Commando Droids.
Tough dice Mr Corgi - I really felt for you. Noob Q, if you don't mind: at 1:28:30, I understand the limited potential but why did you pass on rolling dice vs the B2s?
Thanks for the question Matt. In truth, I probably should have just rolled the dice but the chances of me taking out a B-2 Super Battle Droid were so very low. Since they have two wounds each and Armor 1, I would have had to rolled two Crits (1-64 chance) then Josh would have had to of failed both saves (decent chance there!). It was really the two crits I needed that deterred me.
Great game! It's so much fun to see different non-meta lists (full commandos! Jyn! B2!), and you guys always do it really nice. I think the new blaster is not a good choice for Jyn, her usual pistol/rifle is fine and it's free right? Another thing I'm never able to use properly is Sabine's electrocable. (SPOILER ALERT) Poison tokens!! ...poor poor rebels.
Thanks mate! It does seem to have gotten to that point where it just grows and grows. The worst was getting to 1k subs; now we get that many in about four months.
@@warcorgi3623 ah, well caught sir. I had to pause it at that point and head out. Only just got back now. Looking forward to watching the rest soon. :)
I think Jyn's other pistol is better, the 5 white pistol seems to be better on K-2 because he has a little more access to aims with Calculate and Cassian.
I love your videos war corgi, but one thing that urks me the most about your videos. Is you guys never give grievous and dodge token, when he plays his 1 pip.
Hey Sonn. Thanks for the question. Long time viewers of the channel know that I am pretty terrible at playing with CIS so I don't feel qualified to answer this question. War Corgi yeah I don’t think you’d be able to do a traditional game though because having everyone involved in the same room would ruin the mystery aspect.
Think against rebels it might be but on clone troopers will be different story. Anyway nice to see the cis get a little fire power to deal with the clone balls.
The dice rolls are strong with Josh! it was great to see how mines and grenades play!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video.

Holy cow those bombs are rough vs white defense dice with no poison immunity
This was an excelent example of just how bad things can go with that combination.

Great batrep guys. Great to see some elite CIS units do some work! Poor R2....

The command card duel was hilarious every time
I was surprised nearly every time as I never imagined Josh would be playing the same pip as me.
