A gentleman… they both are. This tour has made me appreciate them both much more. Nice to see some warmth and appreciation at the very top. Leading from the front.
Tadej is true champion while Jonas is such a weirdo.
@@tongobong1
It's not a personality contest, it's a bike race.
Pogacar is simply humble enough to admit that Vingegaard was simply a little better and accepted "defeat" gracefully.
Reflects well on his character, has nothing to do with Vingegaard
Bro, 2020 and 2021 Pog was arrogant AF. He’s been humbled. No chance he would have waited if Jonas went down.
@Ton Bong no Jonas is true champion too because he waits on Tadej his biggest rival after crash.
@@DynamiteDB
I honestly haven't followed it for years, I assume you're accurate in your description since I have no idea what either one of them is like other than this year's performances
I love how he makes no excuses and just acknowledges that Vingegaard was better this time. A true sportsman, I'm hyped for the rematch next year.
Tadej Pogačar you are a TRUE champ!!! Greetings from Denmark

Tadej and Jonas are reshaping the cycling world. They are both super nice guys and good sports. Oh did I miss Wout van Art, simply amazing in every aspect.
as soon as things go sideways for wout he gets whiny.
"The better man beats me" huge respect for Tadej for saying that. No bitterness or jealousy, just pure awe and respect for Jonas' talent
For real; one never gets better by making excuses.
Love this guy! So humble & honest! Much respect Tadej 🤗🤗🤗
Agree!!
WHY DON'T YOU MARRY HIM.................?
He is not humble…
What a great guy.. He seems like a guy you would have a beer with. A true champion.
It's only half a beer .... he's heading for the dancefloor!
Or isotonic drink before he drops you
Needing a beer to enjoy someone's company isn't really much of a praise. I know what you meant, but still...
A true champion and sportsman.
Great champion. Tadej is a nice guy, always respectful with everybody, always nice and smiling.
There is no doubt that Tadej has given his all this tour.
Yeah without his team support!!!
The NFL, MLB, NBA, and the NHL could learn a lot about sportsmanship from these two...
Tadej and Jonas are both amazing. And pretty much when you watch Luka Dončić have interviews it's similar. USA players mostly (not always) feel it's weakness to show this level of respect to their competition
What a gentleman. They both are. One day he will be old and grey, and look back on his career, and think "wow, I'm so glad I wasn't an arrogant jerk". Great job Tadej. You should be proud you are so humble.
Oui Tadej a de belles valeurs
Pogacar is a super athlete, gentleman and role model.
He is such a chilled, humble guy. I respect him.
The Tour has been fantastic this year! Beautiful in many ways, lots of respect and spirit and great sportmansship all over. Can't wait for next year. Luckily we'll se much more to both Tadej and Jonas for many many years! Top talents!
If remco ever develops we will have vingegaard who is best on long climbs. Pogacar who isslightly the best on medium climbs and evenepoel who will be the god of short climbs. 3way battle. If evenepoel is within a minute of either with a 25 km time trial he wins yellow
@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 And then you have Van Aert ... who just trucks on. Steamtrain.
@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 Evenepoel will not take a minute off pogacar in a time trial 😂😂. That's ridiculous. Pogacar is also one of the best time trialists this decade
@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 what about Bernal?
@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 Oh really!!!😂😂😂
Pogačar so high in cycling world, yet so down to earth as a person, very likable guy
Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard are great persons, good to have these gentlemen in the TdF
Total respect for the pair....without question, both are real gentlemen.
First tour I have watched since 2019 and It's been amazing. Vingegaard vs Pogacar should be a great rivalry for years to come.
You can't win em all ! Excellent sportsman and elite cyclist , God bless you young man !
Amen 🙏🙏🙏
You just have to love how humble and decent these guys are.
If Pog acknowledges that his power on those long climbs was better than previous TdF, it turns out that Jonas is just a new monster :)
I completely agree with that! That dude Jonas is the real threat! He’s too stronger! Poggie has more explosion that’s why he won all the sprint they battled! But beside this.. Jonas is just a different monster!
@@tojoqueiroz2717 Partially I agree. It would be very interesting seeing both Pogačar and Vingegaard cycling alone. All respect to Vingegaard, but TJV was simply dominating this years Tour. In this case Vingegaard had much more support than Pogačar (UAD practically started with 6 riders). Just remember all the attacks he covered. Almost every team mate attacked Pogačar in, I think, stage 11 on Granon, from Roglič to van Aert and then Vingegaard. And this drains a lot of power. Indeed very good TJV tactics. This is how they won TDF.
In my opinion Pogačar could have won TDF if he and McNulty would have cooperated more in one of the mountain stages, where Vingegaard, McNulty and Pogačar were eriding alone. There both Pogačar and McNulty should have "attack" Vingegaard more.
Coming back to this after JV won the 2023 tour de france it seems last year was just a foreshadowing of what to come with his TT performance and the long Cote de la Loze climb
Good guy... Both, jonas and Tadeij... My respect for both...
What a great athlete and person. So humble and so much love and respect for his biggest opponents… Incredible!
Pog got edged out by the only guy that could even come close to him. They're both amazing riders across all kinds of terrains, and at their young age both show great self-awareness and maturity.
I hope both will make part of the tour by next year and so we can enjoy the tour.
You can expect to see them fight for many many years!! They are both very young.
A tour win always has complicated calculus. These two are very closely matched. It's the little things from 20 stages that add up, heavily impacted by teams ability to support and then throw in a whole lot of chance. We are all going to enjoy watching these guys battle for many years to come.
What absolute champs and gentlemen they they both are, fantastic TDF this year.
The 2 greatest riders of this Tour. The greatest sport of them all.
💉
These two exude class which I believe has helped make this one of the best tours in the past few years.
It is a common courtesy to wait when your rival crashes like this. A true competitor admits when he is defeated and congratulates the better rider. True sportmanship👍
Great day of sport. Compliments for sportivity to Jonas and Tadej. Two of better example of gesture sportive to see danish peoples Kijaer on football and Jonas yesterdai
It will be an exciting next year.
Class Act...perfect model for the sport. More to come from this gentleman.
Tadej is very young and already accomplished so much! This was the first Tour for me and I’ll be happy to see his career for many years to come.
I'm Danish, if not for that fact I would have cheered for Pogačar.

@@ChristianW1975 same
Understandable, but just cheer for the best guy. A Dutchman myself, i think van Aert is the best rider in the world right now, and MvdP a write-off. A couple of spring classics is all i see him win in the future. No cx, no mtb championships, no Tour stages. Some of my countrymen still compare the two as if they're equal.
Like them both, great to watch this year. The motivating factor for both of them now is the other, whereas perhaps before there was not the same level of rival. Some great racing coming in future tours no doubt with these two which is great for us. I'd like to see Tadej do some more classics, that would be awesome (if he can fit it into his schedule), it was real good watching him go against Van Der Poel earlier in the season.
Unfortunately, I think we 'll see him race less. I hope I'm wrong but if he focuses on the TDF there will be less other races.
@@janinecarlos1718 Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I think his attempts at one day racing/classics have required him to beef up his anaerobic power so now he is clearly a better sprinter than he was. But that has come at the cost of his outright long duration climbing.
If I'm right and he is determined his primary focus is the TdF then we will see less of him unfortunately.
Great attitude. Really hope he can get a solid team to support him next year.
Such a great competitor and spokesperson for the sport! True elite athlete awesome role model for all of us to admire and learn from! 💪🏻😀🙏🏻
Even though Jumbo Visma is my team and I love the fact that Vingegaard will win the yellow jersey, I hate to see Tadej lose because I like him so much. I hope he comes back even stronger next year and give us a fantastic Tour.
He is so exciting to watch….the way he rides makes him so special ! Hard to describe! Next year next chance ! Why worry!👍
This is shaping up,to be an amazing rivalry between the two of them for years to come.
Your fistbump to Jonas said it all. Sportsmanship is what the world needs now
Great Tadje, proud of you Bro!!!
Jonas is a beast of a climber.
I hate when people say they are more like in the old days where everyone apparentlty were gentlemen. No way in hell. Back in the day they hated each other, and they would use any trick to win. That was the norm more than this. I think this makes the sport so much more interesting for a lot of people. No two top contenders ever treated each other with this kind of respect between them before imo. It's a brand new thing they created, and they should be damn proud for what they are doing for cycling. It's so refreshing to see, you don't have to be an asshole to get to the top.
I dunno mate, I remember Jan Ullrich waiting for Armstrong after he crashed. If he would have kept going he most likely would have won the Tour but he instead waited for him and subsequently Armstrong won the Tour. I agree though that these two are very wholesome athletes and are setting a great example in such a tough sport. Hats off to them
Lance and Jan prove you wrong. They are still friends to this day.
Tadej Pogačar has one clear improvement to make next year: have a team that can stay close to him and support him. Numerous times this tour he was isolated against multiple Jumbo Visma riders. His form - and numbers - can't realistically improve given how strong and fresh he came in from Tour of Slovenia.
Both great champs! Nice rivalry

I had been a tremendous tour this year.
Especially the two front rummets have been fantastic ambassadors for their teams, for their nations and for the Tour.
Well done Tad👍 One of the true sportsmen and gentlemen in the world. Thanks for being so awesome 🤗

God Dammit i love Tadej.. coming from a Dane
Great & Funny guy POGY
He is the one who made this TDF one of the best ever. Without him, JV would have cruised to the win. He gave them a ride for the Yellow....
Tadje is truly gracious. One thing he probably wanted to say is that he needs a better team, but he has too much class to say that in public.
What we currently are witnessing is something similar to F1 days with Hunt vs Lauda. They got that far both, because they were pushing each other that far. Very similar here, and right now it looks like TdF 2023 should be something similar to this years.
f1 is a joke- a manufactured procession of sponsor adverts- if you can call that a sport I can call you a fool
Two great athelets and very nice guys, cycling needs young and nice people.
When you see the superiority of Vingegaard and the JUMBO-VISMA, if Tadej Pogacar was not present and if he had not attacked as he promised, this Tour de France would have been very boring. His attacks clearly livened up the race. Congrats and yes Vingegaard was amazing.
Can't wait for them to go head to head again next year.
this year tour shows that a pure strength alone have no match againts a team.
That was a loaded interview 🙄 I’m glad the 2 dudes are greats sports Allzes to the both! Been a fantastic tour
Tadej Pogacer you are the best rider ever
They’ve shown great sportsmanship and pretty much a platonic rivalry.. but when that’s said, one could argue that it didn’t hurt Vingegaard to wait, as he had Van Aert in front as an insurance and his two teammates caught up.. I did think about before I watched Pogacar’s interview.. but at the same time, it’s in the heat of the moment, and it’s Impossible to guess what goes through the mind. Anyway, great to watch.
I respect this guy tremendously. Only clean riders have bad days. To me, it shows he is an honest athlete.
"He also waited for 2 team mates."
LOL
In retrospect, had Pogačar conserved more energy in the early stages and not made the fueling mistake in stage 11, we might well be looking at a completely different result in the overall classification.

DESDE BOGOTA,VIVA POGACAR,VIVA ESLOVENIA,IS MI IDOLO.
Masterclass
Tadej continues to be top of the top. He's probably learnt the lesson and knows he can't afford wasting all his energies and must focus on the strongest opponent. I don't think his style was bad for him, it's good to go after all stage wins. His one and only mistake was to go after Roglic's attacks. At the end of the day he will need to up his game, he knows Jonas can very well drop him in the mountains but the important thing is to manage his energies, as it's not the same to lose 3 minutes than to lose 20 seconds. And he can also eventually drop Jonas or beat him in time trial if he ups his game.
He was over confident going into this tour and did not realize how strong Vinegegaard was. Lesson learned: Don't underestimate your rivals.
"Keep Your Friends Close, But Your Enemies Closer"
I don't think so. Attack for time every time he could in before the alpes. Pretty sure he called Jonas best climber in the world before the Granon stage as well.
Not overconfident. Jumbo Visma is stacked and Tadej’s team was trash and injured.
@@paulsolon6229 He even said Vingegaard is the worlds best climber - so no surprise. But the team effort of Jumbo is crazy. Right after the book. Brilliant. And yes, UAE is running low on fuel and has been for many days. Next year will be even more exciting!
@@paulsolon6229 without Wout Van Aert, Vingegaard would not have won that’s a fact. UAE does not have one rider half as good as Wout.
What a worthy sportsman, personally I would like them both to finish in yellow, they are nice and sporty towards each other.
Pogacar not giving Vingegaard full credit and respect for waiting for him. I detected a slight lack of appreciation with that unnecessary comment about Vingegaard also waiting for two teammates.
Vingegaard didn't have to do sod all, Pogacar should recognise it.
Totaly agree..he was biting his tongue whole interview, and just sliped when he said that. That is genuine Tadej..far from humble, gentelman ect. I really dont get all praising comments..just look his facial expressions. He is one of the best, no doubt..but cyclist, not personas
Probably the only one who can win both the giro and the tour in the same season. I really hope he'll try one day
One thing is for sure Tadej needs a better team. Clearly he had no chance fighting the Jumbo Viasma himself.
That's not strictly true , he had a good team around him but when you have team mates in the shape of roglic and then the superhuman WVA any rider and team are going to struggle against that sort of firepower ....WVA could be a GC contender for any other team
@@Chivs77 he could be but then he would have to train for tours specifically and lose about 8 kg
@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 not really , he's proven he's better than most current GC contenders and effectively dropped pog on the hautacam after being in the break for most of the stage 👍
Yeah Van Aert saved Vingegaards tour, especially on the cobbles stage. If not for Van Aert I think Pogacar would've just pipped him by about a minute. Both incredible riders though
@@Chivs77 yes. Because he conserved energy. AG a GC leader you cant ride 40 mins slower. He needs to lose weight to be able to sustain those wattages per kg. Once he leaves he should give it a try.
"And he waited for his two teammates," that was pretty funny.
TADEJ ,IS MI IDOLO
Tadej and Jonas are very evenly matched but UAE as a team only managed to get the better of Jumbo Visma on one stage. Jumbo have been the best team of the tour by a massive margin.
If his shape was "quite good", what does that make mine?
Quite bad, most likely :)
Atrocious?
We are just human!

Hard to believe Vingegaard waiting was pure altruism....
They sacrificed their guys but Jumbo had better people left. Was so fun to watch this year!
I am sure with WVA in his team he would win the Tour!
His fitness and endurance is great, he just need a better team next year.
every tour rider of his caliber can have a bad day. It’s more than physical strength and like many have said i’d had stayed on top of his glycogen restoring that one bad day wouldn’t have happened. Really look forward to upcoming events with these lads
