Luv the look and space. But no rotary buttons for temperature and no physical buttons to control the basics puts me off. More distractions whilst you're driving.
Another great review Auto Bears! It seems a really nice update on the Leon, but I share the reservations about the lack of buttons and everything being through the Infotainment system. It does appear other manufacturers both in group and outside are going with this approach, so may be it is the future and its just something we'll have to get used to.
Excellent review been waiting ages fit this I bought a Seat Ibiza based on your review defo puts more of a smile on my face than the Peugeot I had. You said the Ibiza had good handling would you say it's better than the new Leon?
The facelift Ateca thankfully retains the knobs for aircon. I really recommend you to try it. With respect to your reviews, could I suggest you show how easy it is to get in and out of cars. This is an important consideration for older and wider drivers. I moved from a Ceed to an Arona because the Ceed was difficult to get into and out of. The Arona is better but I decided on a facelift Ateca because it was such a comfortable car and just high enough that I feel I am sliding into it rather than dropping down or climbing up (I am 5ft 8in). I was worried about the SEAT sports seats since my wife is a little bit less cuddly than you but she seems ok with the idea. Many reviewers are obsessed by headroom and legroom but forget some of us expand with age! You are one of the best reviewers because of your naturalness and humility.
Definitely need to keep designated climate control knobs especially in the winter months when you use the fans/heaters a lot more. It's got to be more safer than taking your eyes off the road going through touch screen menus to make adjustments. Great review though.👍
Personally i think moving the climate control buttons onto the screen is a great idea. Keeps the dash completely clear of buttons. Ive just ordered a new Leon FR Sport PHEV estate to replace my 4 year old Skoda Superb which has buttons and dials for the climate control. Personally I set it to auto and 20.5 degrees the day i bought it and I've pretty much left it there ever since. The joys of automatic climate control and AC is that you don't ever have to fiddle with fan speed etc. I think it's like saying there's too many screen taps to change the clock. Doesn't bother me as I don't ever touch it! Now and again i may bump the temp up or down a degree, touch buttons I'm sure will suffice! Great in depth review though! Showing lots of little features that others miss!
Thank you for your comment Chris. I understand what you mean about leaving the CC in auto and carrying on with your journey. There are those who may not settle and need to adjust the temp or fan speed, and when they do it's not the smoothest of actions as the screen isn't the quickest to react. This is not a Seat issue, more VWG issue. I think it's the ease of use whilst driving that I was highlighting, or lack thereof.
The start stop system can be turned off with the physical button next to the parking brake in the center console as well as in the entertainment system. I do agree that everything is one button press too much.
I recently got rid of my 2018 Leon Cupra and I can't help but think that interior quality has went backwards. I have said this so many times recently that the only car from this VAG group that has actually had an increase in quality is the Skoda Octavia. The Leon, Golf and A3 are full of nasty looking plastics
Had this same car for 3 weeks great car great handling BUT that touch screen no button no dial layout is not only difficult it will result in someone’s death it is dangerous to use on the move
I find it all easier. I don't have a clue how to turn on my front window demister or rear air vents and I have to look down to controls to see what I'm doing..I don't see the oroblem
I didn't like the wheels and fake exhaust so I opted for the ES Dynamic Estate. The heating is voice activated, just tell the car you're cold or hot or if your feet or hands are cold.
It is strange how seat have kept the knobs and dials in the new seat ateca and the infotainment screen is still built into the dash if it works don't change it, they should of kept the visible twin exhausts as well.
congratulations great review. could you tell me how the stock sound system feels (not the beats sound)? How many speakers does it have, where are they positioned and the specific or total watts rms? Some say 6 speakers who 7 and who 8 and who 9 incredible not even seat from certain answers sometimes says 6 sometimes 7 speakers !!!! Tell us if it has 6 speakers: 2 rear woofers with the tweeters above near the opening absolutely empty and fake, 2 forward woofers plus 2 tweeters. Or 7 speakers: as before and an additional central speaker hidden in the dashboard? Or 8 with real tweeters behind but without hidden central speaker in front? Or 9 with everything, 5 at the front and 4 at the back? It is absurd not to find this information certain and to find it all but there is only one truth and what it is?
Good review, but I was expecting the CHR. Took a Volvo XC 40 for a test drive. Nice car but too expensive. By the time you option it up it’s about £40 K.
Auto Bears . I’ve watched your MG ZS EV video quite a few times and other videos on the same car as well. People seem to be happy with it. I think it is the charging network that lets it down rather than the car itself. Seems as though many public charging points are often out of order. I think I have narrowed my choice to the MG or CHR.
Car designers have gone a bit mad with just too many fiddly details which I believe is a substitute for a lack of original ideas. You will not find too many 'creases' on an E-Type Jag, a classic by most standards. The skill is in the thought and execution. Less is very often more.
Ho no!! Real A/C push buttons in the back ..very retro

First time here. All I got from this is. Jesus christ, take better care of yourself. You sir, are unhealthy as f*ck. But on the other hand, this might be the first 2020 FR review I'm seeing with a manual gearbox. And it's a nice review. So, a thumbs up. And about the wheels. There are more options in the list. The wheels under this one are the ones you get when you don't touch the options. Mine has way better wheels. I don't want to be a dick. But I want to be as honest and transparant as possible. I'm Dutch, so there's that.
Had the ghastly new Golf MK 8 for a day. That was enough. Never want to drive that or this one again. Terrible concept. The very antithesis of safe driving.
I have the 1500 FR. and can get 65 67 to the gallon 130 B H had the previous FR 2 LTR diesel and could get 87 to the gallon took picks of miles per gallon brilliant cars will be getting another when i change. So that will be 4 of the leons
So glad I found your Channel! Amazing details on cars and a handsome host to boot. Thanks so much

I love the design. Just got mine on order now!!😍

A great review. Clear, concise and informative. Tells you everything you need to know and nothing you don't!
Thank you very much David for the comment. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the review.
Good to have you back Dave There are many car reviews but none as insightful and informative as yours
A beautiful offering thank you auto bears

Love all your reviews.
Awesome indepth reviews mate, keep up the great work.

none of the other reviewers have explained the buttons etc..well done
You’re most welcome Mr Magoo. Glad it has helped.

I have said this so many times recently that the only car from this VAG group that has actually had an increase in quality is the Skoda Octavia. But Cupra was the top of the range an 50-60% more expensive than this FR. It's not a good comparison
🤓 Thank You So Much & Love New Seat Leon FR 🇪🇦
Had this same car for 3 weeks great car great handling BUT that touch screen no button no dial layout is not only difficult it will result in someone’s death it is dangerous to use on the move
SAME ON THE NEW GOLF...CAPS LOCK LOL
Nice review! Now I just need you to get your hands on a Skyactiv X Mazda 3! Im stuck between the Leon and Mazda as my next car!

Hi you say USB C inputs ..are they inputs or outputs? will they charge a phone that doesnt support wireless charging??
isn't the 1210 liters from the old model? this is around 1300 maximum boot capacity

Is that the magnetic Gray or black?
Plus I forgot to add you can’t see the temp controls at night just under the touch screen because they are not illuminated
honest review, nice one!
Is that metallic grey or normal grey?
What’s that on his T-shirt?
Good review, but I was expecting the CHR. Took a Volvo XC 40 for a test drive. Nice car but too expensive. By the time you option it up it’s about £40 K.
The CHR is coming Liam. Got a backlog of videos and back at it now. My next car is next week so will be working hard again!

Fewer buttons equals lower cost, but at the expense of usability

Is it just me or are these fake exhausts enough to put u off buying one?
yeah it's ugly
Is it me or does this interior seem and look cheap and quite boring?
Had the ghastly new Golf MK 8 for a day. That was enough. Never want to drive that or this one again. Terrible concept. The very antithesis of safe driving.
Yawn golf clone... Seat used to make interestingly styled cars...ive gone to sleep already.

That’s great to hear Barry. Such a shame that it will just be Cupra and no Seat.
