Hello! Just wanted to say that English subs are now available! If I was to make a "sew/craft along with me" video of any of these items - which would you most want to see? Thanks for watching! :D Oh and make sure to go and follow my friend Tilde on instagram at @mthildexo 😝
Annika, with your alphabet function you have numbers too, right? You should totally make labels that say something like Annika 2018 for all the clothes you make this year! Next year do Annika 2019. Every year you'll know which clothes you made, and have that record of your sewing progress! Plus it's just damn cool to have your own name label! Edit: OMG you totally did that, I didn't get that far in the video I'm so dumb. GOOD IDEA THOUGH, HUH? :D
I don't think she meant it like that, I think what she means is that she'd do 1 video but within it, the tutorial would be divided into different days, so you can plan ahead when you're gonna make your project
I have a suggestion. Can you do a tutorial on how to make the top with bishop sleeves (or whatever they're called)? It looks so comfortable and just such a cute sweater.
@@AnnikaVictoria24 Oh my god really?! I didn't think you'd do it! Now I'm excited! I'm going to a thrift store tomorrow so I'm gonna find something to work with so I can follow along! Can't wait now❤️
regardless of how many days it ought to be broken up into, am I the only one who'd still hyper-focus on a sewing project and finish it in one go without eating or standing up?
I agree that the major issue with the duster is that the fabric is too stiff. IF the fit of the arms FEELS ok, I suggest turning that one into a wrap dress by adding snaps and, depending on how it then fits, maybe a belt. I suspect that you could cut the pattern almost the same out of a soft, sheer polyester or rayon and it would look great. IF you used that same cut on a heavier material, it would be a great long winter coat!
Im a complete beginner so i don't really know what i'm talking about, but I just wanna get a pair or fabric scissors and cut towards the arm-pit a little more. That seam just looks a little too far down/uncomfortable right now. I'm sure it would be fine though if the material was a satin or something more kimono friendly but as stiff as it is, it just looks almost painful to wear, or like i'd accidentally rip it. What say you, more experienced seamstresses?
Annika you inspire me so much! I wouldn’t still be sewing without you and tomorrow I’m going shopping to buy crochet hooks and yarn because you make it seem so fun! Thank you so much for being so wonderful ❤️
Needed to be inspired and you have done it again and yes you should definitely do sewing days i want to start making sewing days especially since my "project 📦 " has grown into 2 whole boxes .. Needless to say i am behind ..
For the pink sweater that’s a bit too stiff, try soaking it in the sink with a lot of hair conditioner. I use the cheap suave stuff but I don’t know if that’s available in Australia. But it usually relaxes and softens fibers enough to make things wearable for my ridiculously sensitive skin and should give you some more drape like the second version. Love your videos!
Annika Victoria I learned it when I first started crocheting with really cheap scratchy yarn. A conditioner bath made it look so much nicer so I started trying it on fabric too.
It's not a sewing thing, but I turned a baby changing table i found beside the road into storage for all my board games and card games(like monopoly and magic the gathering). I do not have children, but i do have a kitty who likes to get on the top shelf of it to sunbathe. Also, that top with the sheer sleeves is so adorable! And yes, I'm so for bringing fanny packs back!!
I thought fannybags are already back!? In Germany you can see them everywhere... or have they been out again and will be back soon? Fashion is such a fast cycle...
@@ripkimjonghyunyoudidwell.9964 I live in a more rural part of America, so I haven't seen them too often. I will probably have to make or order one online eventually. No one where i live wears them, even at my college where it is not uncommon to see girls in pajamas and bunny slippers.
Katelyn Gaines I haven't seen too many people around Alabama wearing them (so there not THAT popular )just seen alot in small owned clothing stores enough to turn my head a little.
It's great to know you're back on sewing, it obviously makes you so happy. I adore the pink crop sweatshirt. À propos the peachy kimono, I see: spaghetti fringes and large, colorful patches or maybe stitches. Colorful, candy or maybe vinyl, geeky like, with cute motives, Adventure Time maybe? There's no limits, there is potential!
Okay who else makes videos like this one?! I’m suddenly obsessed with seeing what people are working on and what things they’ve made that they’re proud of!!
OMG! Congrats on the Ambassador thing!! It's amazing!!! Re: the sewing tutorials divided in days are such a great idea! That way we can adjust our expectation regarding project length, difficulty and required involvement! :)
I've been stitching myself up a cross stitch, painting, and getting back into my scrap booking. My in laws gifted me a hella awesome craft storage cupboard that hangs on my wardrobe door, and it's letting me see my unfinished projects from the past, so I've been finishing them!
Actually, the jacket looks a lot like an attempt at a kimono wrap dress, I made a while ago. Same problem, the fabric just wasn’t drapey enough. I fixed it by adding darts in the back and wearing it with a contrasting fabric belt. Not a regular one, but a broad one, like the kind that are actually worn with kimonos. I ended up wearing it quite a bit, because it’s very comfortable when it’s hot and provides better sun protection than most summer clothes.
Omg I have been binging your videos this past week while I've been making a quilt and I was literally about to head to spotlight to get fabric to start making clothes along with your videos 🤩 hope you feel better soon Annika!
Ahh! Your videos are so fun, and have inspired me to get much more into crafting. I have crocheted for a few years now, and am just starting to get into embroidery and sewing! It's safe to say I'm addicted. Crafting makes life with a chronic illness so much more fun!💚
One of these days I will get back in to sewing. Watching your videos always inspire me to make things. I have decorative stitches on my machine too, but I never really knew what to do with them. Watching this gave me some idea though so thanks!
You inspire me so much! After I started seeing your videos I bought my own sew machine last year and it's been so great. I keep watching your videos (and withwendy, coolirpa and others) and having new ideas for clothes and acessories to sew and customize. Thank you so much for sharing your projects
OH man I gotta try to make one those bags. IDK how to do a granny square yet but I guess there's no time like the present. Also I'd like to say the last time you made one of these "whats on my craft table" videos I really loved those cute gloves you made? And it finally got me back into trying crochet one more time. Since then I've made like 6 beanies (with cute pomp pomps), 1 stuffed animal, two pairs of fingerless gloves and a bunch of tiny circle plushies. Thank you for being so inspiring! I also gotta try to make that rainbow bag, very adorable.
That’s wonderful!!! Thanks for letting me know, I’m glad these types of videos & not just my tutorials inspire others to get crafty! :D and how fun is it to make beanies? I love making them haha
Hi Annika. You are really coming on with the crochet! If I, as someone who has been crocheting for quite a few years, may make a suggestion? Line the bag straps with fabric of some kind! I've made crochet bags & the straps always end up stretching SO badly (one ended up by my knee's on 1 outing!!). It'll make your lovely bags last a lot longer. Hope I wasnt offensive there hon. Good luck :)
Splitting tutorials into days or chunks would be amazing, I always get discouraged when I don't finish things as fast as I 'think' I should so it would help me pace against someone who actually knows what they're doing! Love the video as always, so jealous of the new sewing machine - my mum has an old Bernina and I miss living at home and getting to borrow it!
My current works in progress is all crocheted, first project is a kimono styled shawl for my momma, a granny square blanket for my mother in law, a hello kitty headband for my momma, and a boho styled purse for my cousin which I am actually all done crocheting I just need to sew in a lining.
hi annika! i love all of your videos so much, they have inspired me to be a lot more minimalist and less wasteful with my wardrobe! i feel like, because of the fact im now more hands on with my clothes, they feel more *me* too! i am soon to be moving out with my wifey and i am so excited for both the move, and to be able to craft with her and follow more of your videos! lots of love!
Yes yes yes, fabulous idea! to break each project down into days. With family commitments it's hard to get a long period of time in one go. Thanks for the video, amazing as always :)
Hi Annika! First of all, I've been watching your vids for a bunch of years now, and I wanted to say that I love them so much! Thanks for all of the work and care you put into them. Second, I had a suggestion for the duster you're working on. If you want to make it work in a wide range of fabrics, I think a stiffer fabric like the one you've got here would look really cute in a little cropped version, maybe with an optional waist tie or with patch pockets at the front. So you could have a couple different options for different fabric types. Also, yes to allllllllll the ruffles :)
OMG that blue shirt is so cute and I love the rose pink sweater(or jumper) I love your creations. I think the orange duster would be really cute in a heavier or drapier fabric. Thanks for sharing your skills. I love it!
I love these videos cause it's nice to know that you get frustrated with projects too, and also we can see what you're working on that's not part of make thrift buy or style pile or get thready with me :)
OMG IM JUST SO EXCITED SO I HAVENT WATCHED TO THE END but can you pleeeease make a blog or something about the bishop shrit process?? It is absolutely gorgeous!!
Congrats for being a brand ambassador 🤗 I own one of my moms older bernina machine and also use my grandmas machine for embroidery and they are great. I enjoy watching your videos its very uplifting and motivating to do sewing projects when I'm a bit down or discouraged. Get well soon💜
I’m so excited to see what you do with Bernina! My grandma has always used Berninas so she got me one for college graduation (after she heard that the crappy cheap thing i was using didn’t have a removeable foot so i kept having to go to her house whenever i needed a zipper foot lol), but since they’re one of the higher-end/more expensive brands, idk anyone else with one :/
you may want to line the crochet bags strap too. the bag i made was only used for holding my crochet and cross stitch stuffs. and the straps stretched more than expected. your work is really pretty.
I'm reupholstering my desk chair right now, and have been for the last two months. Never done anything like it before, and I think I chose one of the most difficult pieces of furniture to start with. With school and my low energy it has taken way too long, but at least I'm finally top-stitching now. Though my machine doesn't like the thick fabric very much. xD
I don't know if you have been recommended or found the website Ravelry before, but it hosts thousands of patterns by other people for crochet and knitting. crochet patterns of anything you could ever need and lots of crochet bag patterns.
Devan Brockway Seconded on the Ravelry recommendation! There’s a ton of crochet content, it’s a great community, and it’s also a good way to keep track of your projects. You can spend HOURS just looking through patterns and projects and challenges.... it’s awesome.
I mightn’t be able to sew or knit or nothing but I did instal a doorknob recently as well as a new latch for my wardrobe so uhhhhhhh I’m defs killing it
I just love this hair length on you! You look so cute! And you also inspired me to knit something for myself (I've been knitting for 10 years or something, but I usually just made miniature stuff haha).
The bags are super cute!! Love them! I’ve been knitting for the last 6 months (hand and machine) a lot of sweaters being made -it’s fall in Canada. Your fanny pack/bum bag make me want to make one, it’s so cute.
Hey Annika, think you could try and make one of those super adorable apron dresses? Ive seen them for super cheap on weird ads on Pinterest. I bet it’d be easy but I’m not as skilled and I’d love to see your take
Oh that bag is beautiful! Both of them! Oh that cool Bum Bag! New sewing machine, neat. I gotta make one of those for my loom knitting tools. Fantastic super make-up bag. Bye Ella!
Your projects are always amazing!!! It is going into winter now in the UK. So I can't make the summer ones. I will have to go back to march to get them. Keep up the good work. I love your videos!!!!
As a fellow spoonie (ME/CFS), tutorials split into sections would be great as I need to take regular rests but can get carried away with wanting to finish something in one sitting! Suggestions on when is a good time to set the project down would be awesome ♥️
Ahhh Annika you're my savior! 😂 I've been looking for a cute and free fanny pack pattern the past week and couldnt find one. I'm still debating with myself if fanny packs are cute or not, but seriously it's the easiest way to always have dog treats and poop-bags on hand when going for a walk. Right now I'm using one that my mom gave me is made from this hideous cheap black plastic stuff 🙈. At least now I can myself a wayy cuter one 🌌 Also I love, love, love the bishop sleeve Jumper 💖 and the granny square bag turned out super cute as well!
That bear fabric you lined the makeup bag with is too cute! It's currently 3am here in the UK and I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant and unable to sleep so i'm working on a crochet blanket for my little boy! It's going to be a race to see which happens first, him arriving or the blanket getting finished :D
bernina sewing machines are life !!! i never knew about the foot lever ?i just assumed all sewing machines had them but ive only every used a Bernina .
My recent projects are a painting or a dying coral reef, a fabric mer-tail that got way too heavy so it slipped down and some seams popped, a pair of cardboard horns (the big hellboy horns) and a cardboard helmet in progress that looks vaguely like the dwarves' helmets in the hobbit/lotr. The cardboard builds are from the last few days, after the test swim didn't go well.
You're my kind of dork if you are a dork.. meant to be a complement. So happy to find your channel. I like you ideas.. I'll be watching .. super cute bags! Look at you with your roses tops. I'm inspired . I like your ways and personality thanks for sharing 🐭, Mara
I love this! This is going to sound weird but I've been looking for like, a respectable fanny pack to wear around to keep my epi-pen and emergency medication on me and like... haing the control of just making my own is such a good idea. I can't believe I didn't think of it! Bless this is so helpful
Hi Annika, thanks for another fab video. Your bags look great! Just a thought about your duster jacket, i think i remember you mentioning that it is linen, and linen can sometimes be stiff before its washed and worn. So it may soften up and drape better after a few washings and wearings. Just a thought :) I hope you are feeling better :)
Honestly that was really good about that fanny pack tutorial - I tend to think I'm working too slowly if someone makes a tutorial look toooo easy hahahaha! So I'm glad you like the idea too!
I got to use a knee lever machine when I did costumes for a school play and YES, it's amazing and if I ever get a chance to get a machine with that option, I'm taking it.
I'm so envious of the alphabet function on your machine! My machine is an embroidery machine so It can do letters and designs but I need the software connected to my computer in order to use it! It was my mom's machine before she died and the CD for the software got lost. For now it just functions as a normal sewing machine.
That bit with Tilde, was so cute!!! I just crocheted a little blanket for my cat, I'm trying to embroider (which i've never done before) little stars on it since it's based on a ooak collar I got from etsy that she lost after like 4 months that suited her sooo well.
Annika, if you want to showcase a lot of stuff about the Make Thrift Try challenge just make multiple parts, I know I'm pumped about it and would watch all the submissions.
Thanks Annika now my winter will be spent crocheting bags (jk that sounds like a bomb ass winter) Tbh I needed an easy project for Christmas gifts and that 5 granny square bag is perfect!!!
I work on an automatic industrial machine and omg, the knee lever is the best, but also if you push down on the front of the treadle it cuts the thread and lifts the needle, and omg. Just omg.
I love the idea of breaking up your tutorials by days!!! im only a beginner and this would help immensely!!! specially bc i tend to get overwhelmed easily djshdj
Love my Bernina! I have a 350 or something and it’s all I will ever need! I do wish I had gotten a big quilt neck but don’t need all the embroidery since I just like to free motion. Bernina has the best feet!

What is more important than sleep? Annika's new video!
By the way is that makeup pouch fabric from the Make Thrift Buy Topshot cropped top?
YES! It's the same fabric! I have kept the shirt, but I made matching pants which I didn't like that much - so the pants became this make up pouch :D
I saw your ad in a magazine that my sewing teacher gets! Love your channel!
loving that pink sweater thing! It looks so professional and comfy!!
Your friend is so genuine and darling. How lucky is she to have you as a friend? Also, I'm thrilled you are working with Bernina!
Your clothes are TO DIE FOR!!!! OMG! I love you I’m freaking out! What an inspiration!
Super cute moment when you gave your friend the bag. ❤️
you may want to line the crochet bags strap too. the bag i made was only used for holding my crochet and cross stitch stuffs. and the straps stretched more than expected. your work is really pretty.
I mightn’t be able to sew or knit or nothing but I did instal a doorknob recently as well as a new latch for my wardrobe so uhhhhhhh I’m defs killing it
the pink and blue tops look so good! I also really like the second bag, also, also I love the outfit you were wearing in the video.
Bye Ella!
This video has revitalize my love for sewing
That moment with your friend was so sooo sweet!
I actually really like that jacket! I love a good slouchy fit. Maybe you could give it a folded collar?
Your projects are always amazing!!! It is going into winter now in the UK. So I can't make the summer ones. I will have to go back to march to get them. Keep up the good work. I love your videos!!!!
As a fellow spoonie (ME/CFS), tutorials split into sections would be great as I need to take regular rests but can get carried away with wanting to finish something in one sitting! Suggestions on when is a good time to set the project down would be awesome ♥️
I LOVE seeing all of the projects you're working on! ;u; Btw that bishop sleeve sweater is gorgeous. The little label in the back is such a nice touch
At least now I can myself a wayy cuter one 🌌
Also I love, love, love the bishop sleeve Jumper 💖 and the granny square bag turned out super cute as well!
Good luck with everything!
Congrats
bernina sewing machines are life !!! i never knew about the foot lever ?i just assumed all sewing machines had them but ive only every used a Bernina .
That little gift opening clip filled my heart with joy
You're my kind of dork if you are a dork.. meant to be a complement. So happy to find your channel. I like you ideas.. I'll be watching .. super cute bags! Look at you with your roses tops.
I'm inspired . I like your ways and personality thanks for sharing 🐭, Mara
I love this! This is going to sound weird but I've been looking for like, a respectable fanny pack to wear around to keep my epi-pen and emergency medication on me and like... haing the control of just making my own is such a good idea. I can't believe I didn't think of it! Bless this is so helpful
Loved the Who Gives A Crap TP wrapping on the gift! Very resourceful :)
I wouldn't mind having your tutorials broken into days! It assures me that I'm not stupidly slow and some projects DO take some time.
Honestly that was really good about that fanny pack tutorial - I tend to think I'm working too slowly if someone makes a tutorial look toooo easy hahahaha! So I'm glad you like the idea too!
Ok that bishop sleeve sweater is actually AMAZING
I love these vlogs. It's so inspiring to see all of the projects
Oh my gosh I love that blue gingham top!! 😍 so cute!
I got to use a knee lever machine when I did costumes for a school play and YES, it's amazing and if I ever get a chance to get a machine with that option, I'm taking it.
I just love and adore u so much 😘 keep up the nice work! Can't wait to see the make thrift try video. Lots of love from Germany 😘😘
I'm so envious of the alphabet function on your machine! My machine is an embroidery machine so It can do letters and designs but I need the software connected to my computer in order to use it! It was my mom's machine before she died and the CD for the software got lost. For now it just functions as a normal sewing machine.
Alex M you can sometimes find the cds on the manufacturer site, or ebay
I found the software online from the manufacturer but I have to pay 60$ for it, eventually when we have some extra money to spend I'll get it!
That bit with Tilde, was so cute!!! I just crocheted a little blanket for my cat, I'm trying to embroider (which i've never done before) little stars on it since it's based on a ooak collar I got from etsy that she lost after like 4 months that suited her sooo well.
I love the duster. I think the sleeves are perfect. I would add a slit on the back.
Annika, if you want to showcase a lot of stuff about the Make Thrift Try challenge just make multiple parts, I know I'm pumped about it and would watch all the submissions.
Thanks Annika now my winter will be spent crocheting bags (jk that sounds like a bomb ass winter)
Tbh I needed an easy project for Christmas gifts and that 5 granny square bag is perfect!!!
I work on an automatic industrial machine and omg, the knee lever is the best, but also if you push down on the front of the treadle it cuts the thread and lifts the needle, and omg. Just omg.
Whoa - that’s magic right there! :O
i think is very cute you put your own label on the clothes you made. precious!
Yes I would be interested in multi-part tutorials! I think it’d be a cool way to see you do some of your larger/ longer term projects :)
I love the idea of breaking up your tutorials by days!!! im only a beginner and this would help immensely!!! specially bc i tend to get overwhelmed easily djshdj
Omg I’m obsessed with that pink crop jumper!! Please please share the pattern! Also I love your channel so much!
I never knew how to use the decorative stitches on my machine but now I have so many ideas!!
Love my Bernina! I have a 350 or something and it’s all I will ever need! I do wish I had gotten a big quilt neck but don’t need all the embroidery since I just like to free motion. Bernina has the best feet!
I just made a t shirt quilt with a lovely soft black ribb fabric on the back and its so cuddly and my fav thing now
