I always called the plants cattails but apparently the fluffy ones are different from real cattails. I think they're called Red Fountain Grass
In my area of the states it's called pompous grass! It gets really big and annoying if you don't trim it properly :)

There are also lots of people like me. I am healthy, but because I have pale olive skin with dark circles I look sickly. I just don't have natural healthy rosy cheeks, that is where make-up comes in.
I get that too, and my chronic illness isn’t as debilitating as what some people have. Also: why don’t you smile more? “Ummm, because I’m in pain and/or severely nauseated at the moment?” Very frustrating...

2:46 Yeah, I think all of us get that, when people are used to seeing make-up glam then they react to our natural face as if it appears ill. It's a real downer.
I stopped wearing makeup years ago, except for photos (because they wash you out) or extremely special occasions where "glamour" was the theme. It helped me a lot with my self-acceptance. I used to think my naked face was ugly. Now I see it as normal, and my makeup face is "glam". People got used to it pretty quickly, really. Within a year people had seen my naked face in all kinds of circumstances and moods, and understood the difference between "not made up" vs. "ill".
Plant nerd here. I'm in the US, but based on the features of the grass I can make out in the video, my guess is that it's a purple fountain grass (genus Pennisetum). They like Mediterranean climates like South Africa, southern California, and Australia. The species P. setaceum is invasive in the US and they still sell it for landscaping, but there might be some other native species I'm unaware of down under.

From what I found, it seems that in Australia they call it a "swamp fox tail" even though it's still a Pennisetum. @Bridget Canning is definitely right about it being in southern California as I grew up there and love them dearly. I'm not a plant nerd, just a foxtail enthusiast
I also think it is Pennisetum/Cenchrus setaceum, commonly known as Red Fountain Grass, Purple Fountain Grass, Crimson Fountain Grass and a bunch of other names.
Jimineeee, and i cant even remember what my two houseplants are.

Hehe the cape was meant to be a blouse with a peter pan collar, it was the first attempt at a pattern I had just made up. I didn't leave enough room at the bust & it wouldn't button up without gaping so.. I turned it into this strange cape-with-sleeves situation to make it wearable - but it actually turned out pretty cute! So a tutorial would be like... here's how to make a blouse and do it wrong so you get a cape hahaha. BUT I would quite like to do a proper capelet tutorial, so I'll definitely add it to my to-do list of vidoes! 😊

Hehehehe, don't worry - the slang we used in the ad was kinda meant to be gibberish 🙈 It was all derived from websites that tracked slang in the US in the 1930s-50s, actually, but with our aussie accents it just made it a REAL TIME huh?
