I love how Rob says "You can reference my video" it really shows how much pride he takes in his Comics Explained title. I really do learn alot from his videos, very helpful and entertaining.
These videos are my go-to bored out of my mind cure
Those are known as my train ride home videos
Yes
✔️
Oh yes, X-Men content, the best kind of content
X-Men really needs a decent videogame.
SpritemaniacJ a new beat em up would be great
Really like when you go over the X-Men stuff it’s so freaky awesome 👏
Ultimate Spider-Man advise me financially then spoder boi
Selene was one of the mutants who walked through the portal when professor x invited everyone to Krokoa
Xmen encyclopedia, love this is a thing. Ears are wide open. Have you been preparing any larger videos evolving full story's?
Rob, Hickman states that Sinister wasn’t a mutant originally but that he created a clone and inserted Thunderbird X gene into it
in the 616 version it was Apocalypse who create Mr. Sinister I always thought he mutate. He one of the first scientist to discover mutants in 1800's. There a great cartoon X-men's 90's that shown Mr. Sinister caught some mutants and experiment on them, his wife was sick so he caught some mutants and use their DNA to fix her up. That was Jean Grey's ancestor. He also use some of their DNA on himself too.
One of the things missed would be the hidden mutant societies like The Neo from Claremont's year 2000 X-Men comics. Their populations were decimated by the High Evolutionary turning off Mutant powers worldwide, which was not long before the destruction of Genosha and M Day a few years later.
I think most writers and fans have forgotten about the Neo though.
man my favorite character is Exodus! I wish they'd write a big story surrounding him & Selene & some maniacal plan.
Have you ever looked into the table top game heroclix? It's a miniature game with new sets coming out constantly we just last month got a brand new exodus figure and he is insane! The sculpt is absolutely gorgeous too!
dude i appreciate your channel so much like i am into comics on and off for various reasons and i've always been intimidated to even get into my favorite series (like x-men) so your videos are a huge help for me to feel like i get what's going on and can just read what i got
Awesome breakdown... all the factions and available info summarized nice and neatly, good job.
Aaand Yeaaah!.... lets begin.
Dude I just wanted to say you’re awesome man. You’re the sole reason I was able to learn all the cool comic book stuff I’ve always wanted to know. So thank you.
Yay the regular intro is back!
My question is, is Selene still older than Apocalypse because X-men comics rarely focuses on female perspectives at least outside of Claremont. But more than that she has recently been recognize as such whereas Apocalypse is consistently called the "first or oldest mutant"!
I really enjoy your Marvel Universe timeline playlist, can you please make one that chronologically explains everything that happens from the Second World War until the present day? Possibly compile the videos that you already made? The best I can find is the one that starts with House of M, but that story is quite modern
I like your more recent contact Rob and I've been around since way back but this stuff right here this is your core this is amazing keep doing this while you're doing the stuff that creatively excites you. Robcore Unite.
I could have sworn i saw Selene amongst the Villain squad that Xavier invited to Krakoa in POX?
Great video! I keep up the great work.
When Charles meets shadow king. Is that where he met storm? I remember an old xmen comic I had that showed orroro monroe (storm) was a street urchin and was attacked or like used by the shadow king.
Yes
Your videos make me want to get back into X-men. I’ve been reading only dc comics for the past decade but I used to be a huge X-men fan as a kid.
Rob - first off - AMAZING content... it brings me back and fills in gaps from when I walked away. I have so many contrary points to make based on how 80s/90s history was presented. Did you cover Uncanny Vol. 1 from 200 to 275? I thought some of the best stories were when the team was basically depleted. Thoughts?
Nice!! X-Men encyclopedia, rob corps!!
Thanks for explaning
at first I thought you were talking too fast (I noticed in the beginning you do fly brother lol) but then, it's almost like "MORE I NEED MORE FASTER" 🤘
great job man
I've watched you for so many years, you have almost single handedly explained the Marvel universe since the first mcu phase for me... every story line that is even rumored i look up here and I end up knowing basically the gist of what's coming and it really has made the experience so much cooler. Thank you brother, happy you are in Columbus. Wish I ran into you here❤ good luck on the move soon to Colorado :)
Beast of a post. Nice.
Another Amazing Job O7
Rob, you missing the lupine strain on the genetic tree. Sabertooth, wolverine, wolves bane, etc., and how they fit in the history.
You miss Romanlus
@@sophiawilson8696 Hence the "...etc" part. There are more characters that are on that list. Those are just the more well known ones.
I didn’t even look at the name... just clicked, gave it a like, then watched it!!! Rob Corp baby!!!
I haven't heard about the cheyarafim and neyaphem in the X-men comics in a long time
It’s interesting when that happens, it essentially hints at most of the other writers that do X-Men not being big fans of the concept. I think most try to distance Nightcrawler from them these days too.
That's what Blink, Nightcrawler & his father Azazel is right?
Cheyarafim are Angel's people with wings and Neyaphem are people Azazel and Nightcrawler.
@@bevaineshaw4555 I heard that Blink is one of Apocalypse's descendants.
Azazel's is a Neyaphem Anicent Mutants Race with Demonic Features.
Mutants Vs Eternals Vs Inhumans Vs Human mutate. Who will come out as the superior species?
Your fat momma.
So basically humans with powers vs more humans with powers
You forget Vampires and the Deviates.
I'd really like it if you'd cover the phalanx covenant. Of all that you covered, that massive event you haven't touched.
Hi! May you please cover the entirety of the time displaced original x-men? When you have time. Your work is amazing and I appreciate all you do
You Comichistorian Caped Joel & Fortress of solitude are awesome
Comic Pop also, couldn't remember the name, but love you guys content
If you taught a class about comic universes I would definitely take up this class 💪
What is the name of the comic you reference when talking about "the Wanderers"? Love this video btw! I'm learning so much from these videos.
I’m not new to xmen I just wanna binge :)
Rob...
Didn't Sinister use Thunderbirds Xgene?
#Gross...
I can see him doing a Frankenstein hack job on his body.
I wonder what Warpath will have to say about this?
Thinking about how ill be like 70 in 45 years thinking about how i used to rip fat bowls to your comic videos .
Thanks for the future nostalgia
I just tried to name all the character in that image in the background. Was scary how I remembered characters like Warpath and Nimrod when I only read stories including them maybe a handful of times back in the 90s.
Is there anything I can do to convince you to make a video about Dead Man Logan? Easily one of my favourite things to read, this year.
Hey Rob, don’t forget Tad Carter, Marvel’s first character to be called a mutant from Amazing Adult Fantasy #14 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Years later John Byrne brought him back for an arc in X-Men: The Hidden Years.
I'm intrigued with how you said a character from the 90s wouldn't fit into modern stories. I don't read many comics so but through film I've become interested in the characters and lore and so have been drawn to your videos. I lack an understanding of how stories have changed. I'd be very interested in your take of how comics have changed throughout the years and how 80s story lines differ from 90s and so on. Keep up the good work. I very much enjoy what you do.
Selene is actually in the group of mutants on Krakoa w/ the other villains like Sinister & Apocalypse. And superhuman strength is one of Apocalypse's original mutant abilities, enhanced by Celestial augmentation
Characters with powers in a universe with people that have powers are hated for having powers.......... Makes sense
RajOfColumbus don’t forget Spider-Man has been hated and hunted and many others. Mutants are just focused on because they have a huge population and their powers can be erratic and uncontrollable
@@badmoonris1ng476 seem like the description of the entire hero and villain community
@@badmoonris1ng476 the one problem is that they are born that way, jealously, and the belief that humans are going to be replace by mutants, fear of one group of people who are more powerful than them.
X-Men knowledge? YES please!
I love that pic at the end of the video. Most of the characters are familiar but a lot of them I dont know =(. I wish they had name tags on em so I could do a wiki dive. lol
Does Apocalypse have a limit on how much he can grow, like could he grow large enough to crush a solar system with his hands?
Its celestial armour so I'm gonna assume as large as they are, his own abilities wouldn't let him grow that large but the celestial tech should
Do you have a podcast platform? I like to listen whilst on other apps on my phone or whilst driving
Pretty good info
Can you explain Namors heritage is he a Mutant or is he a Atlantean Human Mutant three way hybrid
he's an atlantean human hybrid, but that human half had the mutant gene in it, so he's an Atlantran Mutant hybrid.
Yes the lack of Namor (Marvels first created Mutant) is very disappointing....
ISingand DoOtherThings second ine
Namor was the first official mutant.
I hope you'd make a much more detailed explanation on the Wonderers
insofaras insofaras insofaras insofaras insofaras! love your vids!
Not 2 b weird but i love u and these videos R making my hero knowledge so happy
I'd love to see a video for nightcrawler powers and story origin.
A mutant appears in Amazing Fantasy 14 one issue before Spider-Man debuts.
John Ebejer what’s his name?
@@platonicpapashaga Tad Carter is his name. The story is called The Man In The Sky by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
I don't think there is a way to do a full and totally complete timeline of mutants because as you said, there is just so many stories out there. Unfortunately, the only person I'm aware of that could have maybe on a good day have done it was Mark Gruenwald. Before his untimely death, he had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the totality of Marvel history and comics. Never the less, thank you as always for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. Its always enjoyable and enlightening.
Great video but wish you could have expanded on it more.
X-Man/Nate Grey too powerful for marvel movies
Dude you should've continued with MD and then hope Summers
Do you have any vids explaining the demon and angel mutants you were talking about?
Rob should read POX #4 again. Hickman never says or even suggests that Mr Sinister was originally a mutant. He just says that Nathaniel Essex in creating his clones tinkered with his own genetics and introduced the x-gene in one of his clones.
So Shadow King is an etherial entity, but he bonded with a human psychic mutant Amahl Farouk. It's like a Phoenix Jean Grey sort of thing, except Amahi fully embraced and merged with (got absorbed by) the Shadow King, who then (allegedly) bonded with every version of Amahl Farouk in the multiverse. (Still salty how Marvel ignored Endsong, broke up up Jean and the Phoenix, then beefed Jean's Natural TK. Her TK, like her TP, is supposed to be Omega level on its own).
I mean, originally part of why mutants started occurred more frequently in the 20th century was the fact that humans began messing with radiation. Hank McCoy’s mutation was even explicitly connected to his father working in a plant.
Where's that end picture from? That's an epic background theme!!

I need a comics explained on “the brotherhood of evil mutants “ that time they turned colossus white hot was the first story I read in marvel back in the 80”s
The only way they would be able to bring Mutants into the Marvel cinematic is that they would need to recon ( Late 80's base should do it with a little back story which would also lead to Prequels) in there own series of movies and maybe start to truly integrate them about midways through ... It would need to follow the strategy of Iron Man on an Avengers Level.
Rob ya needa do a whole video series bout the 1st MUTANT, In wikipedia they have SELENE thee 1st MUTANT then tie between APOCALYPSE & ...
in hannah montana (home of the superhero Surge) mutants were treated as celebrities and theres only around 10 of them in the entire world.
Can you talk about the recent Black Panther issue and the return of a Certain overpowered hero
Very comprehensive. But what about the fallen celestial?
Wasn't because of his death by the horde that life on earth can develop suoer abilities?
Apocalypse vs juggernaut in a brawl who wins
Session Box good fight
Darkseid would beat both
RajOfColumbus Darkseid is OP.
@@IllMatic97 thanos would beat darkseid hes stronger and a better fighter
Apocalypse is like indestructible and inherits other ppls mutant powers. So just lift that dude in the air with telekinesis. No traction. Can’t move. Problem solved
...17:52...Donald Blake?
Damn i had to check the playback speed... i went from a 6 year old vid to this and its like on fast forward
Who was the guy in xfactor the series with jamie madrox in charge after house of m with rictor powerless and he has i think the terrigen crystals stuck in his back . There is a few issues with this powerful guy who lives in the arctic and has heaps of different powers does anyone know who im talking about ?
Rob did you ever see the marvel fact files? I collected the vast majority but have yet to take them all apart and create the chronological order :)
I enjoyed the Franklin Richards Full Power vid and had are had time finding the second part, but I found it. Great videos man!!
18:00 Anyone where that pic is from? It is badass!

Guys i think I hit a Comic Book rabbit hole. Ive been on this dudes page for like, 30ish episodes over 2 days...
17:57 ... Can you spot all three Wolverines?
Yea. Wonder why he was there 3 times
Exposure to radiation (alpha, beta and gamma) was the kickstarter for massive uprise of mutants being born in the 1900s and onwards, I believe.
I believe the first atomic bomb was drop in 1940's ? I also read the toxic environments had great deal to raise of mutants in world.
Sophia Wilson atomic bomb, yes. But 1945, rather. Experimenting with radioactive material has being going on way before that.
Also, exposure to radioactive material was possible all throughout history, due to radioactive materials being naturally found elements and sunlight. :)
Actually the (supposed) continuous chain reaction which we call the sun is one massive H-bomb.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fusion
Is Dario Agger from the Thor comics the same Minotaur guy you’re referring to?
I'm so stuck on the 80's and some 60' to 70's Marvel Comics than what came into play in the 90's I wouldve never read these 90 stories nor late 80's stuff cause they just changed and i didn't keep up nor my brothers.. As far as this Mutant time line where none of the other Marvel character exists be it Punisher or Cap. or Iron Man..I swear its best to have their own cities like Batman and Gotham City. An environment that would bring out the global impact they have on their world.
In recent official "The History of Marvel Universe" #1 Selene called "One of Earth's First Mutants"
One of the First Mutants that the key.
Something about Selene i wonder about. In terms of origins, does she have a birth comic book?
Fascinating! Great job!!
The big group picture (@18 min) has Wolverine twice. 😝 😝
Rob Corps!
Where the hell do you guys get these comics or information??
1:30 from what comic book is this? Anyone know?
Everything and everyone has changed I might be getting old cause all I see are revamp of everything I grew up on 💡
I get really confused with feral mutants, what classification are they, are there any omega level ferals? What's the difference between ferals and Atavistic mutants? And what's the difference between 'pure' ferals and atavistic ferals?
Can you please make a Rachel Summers/Grey Explained? PLEASE!!!
Can you do a storm explained?
But you can’t really go by years...because all the characters have modern day tech and reference modern day events even though they’ve probably aged like 10 years max since their introduction
This is off topic but would u happen to know the name of a marvel story where “ it’s a universe where no one had powers except one kid and he brought the Marvel comic characters to his world, he took over the west side of us and everyone thought it was the red Skulls doing?? “
Sounds like the origins of the Clyde Wincham (or something like that) the Marquis of Death. You should be able to get the book if you search that name.
You have an X-Men encyclopedia but you don't have Justice league? Maybe you should start with Plastic Man
11:45 ok... so I'm kinda new to comics and don't know a lot about their timelines. That's kinda way I'm watching this video. So... Rob, was this just a slip of the tongue where you call the whole of the Americas "the United States" or is it Marvel canon that Columbus didn't land on the Island of Hispaniola and instead landed in like Norfolk, VA?
17:42 Is that a non blue kurt? when did that happen
