satisfying to be able to watch how incredible the bikes you build turn out to be. Love the hard work you put into making these build but also taking the time to set the camera up to film it.
One idea is to heat it up with the propane torch just enough to get it hot but not blue, and then resume with the baby torch.

I just got back from my second ride on my 1999 YZ 125 after 12 months rebuild and it’s running awesome.. As an old guy of 53 years who is an old school 2 stroke lover and who enjoys working on bikes as much as riding them.. I love what you do.. Thank you! Oh also I’m local to you in Bayview ID!

Wish I was half the man you are brother. It does not go unnoticed. You have been an inspiration to many about perseverance and dedication. Keep on. I’m over here crying like a baby thinking about never riding again after my worst injury to date but I still have my health and not paralyzed thank god but idk if I can ride again and surely race. It’s so hard because it’s the only thing I really love. I know you have had all these experiences/thoughts and more. Guess it’s time to build the 93’ cr125 while in recovery. I think of guys like yourself when I get down about what’s possible. Long winded but thank you 🙏 👊

For the pipe “heat treat” coloring you definitely need to get yourself a small Oxy-Acetylene torch with a 000 tip. The small tips would be useful for the pipe dents too.

You can get a small oxy/gas torch for jewelry that might be good to try this with, there are cheapo ones online that would probably be fine. I think the thinness and how sharp the color fades out is a function of localizing the heat. So a hotter and smaller flame from a torch like that could potentially help out a lot.
Another thought is you may be able to use a stencil and an DIY electroetch setup to selectively remove the nickel plating, then heat blue that area, giving you a stenciled blued pattern.

Thank you! The number plate covers that side of the silencer so typically the decal goes on the inside
