I didn’t have a major injury, but losing my dad from brain cancer and my best friend passing from a driving accident in the same year. Your gift of humor is untouchable. Much love man.

This makes me think of when my mom had surgery on her spine due to a staph infection, they said she would never walk again. I remember back in middle school and racing her to get the mail, she went from shuffling, to speed walking, to full on running again. The human spirit can be a powerful thing, but it always helps to have good people at your side helping you paddle along.
This right here is just a testament to the dude sterling is. For others that have had a TBI, thank you for normalizing all of it. And making it more approachable. That means the world for so many. YOU KNOW DA RULEZ

I'll be Honest sterling, I have PTSD from the war.... You describe "IT" whatever this is "mental health" better than I can describe it. I felt completely lost and so confused I still feel that way sometimes, but you talking about "IT" on your platform helps people better understand what We (people with this issue) are going through on a daily basis. When you say you can't walk, I completely understand because you want to walk but your brain isn't letting you and its such a struggle and you panic! I have cried listening to you, I'm a grown ass combat vet and you brought me to tears. Thank you for helping US and letting this issue be spoken and hopefully heard. 🙏 Thanks brotha
I was at banzai skatepark the day you two filmed the surf skate lesson video (classic btw). I wish I would have come over to talk story with uncle Sterling… was cool to skate by with a quick howzit 🤙🏽 though. You see every legend in the sport over there (regularly) but not many got me as stoked as running into you. Yeah sterling! I do know da rulez 🤙🏽

Spencer I also had a Traumatic Brain Injury, it derailed my life to say the least but it also made me an all around better person after the insanely impulsive part of it. I refused to believe that it changed me for so long so hearing you openly speak about it has helped more than you can imagine. Humor really is what got me through, I relate to your personality. Thank you for being you Uncle. "There's people like us and people who want to be like us."

Also when are you going to release personalized and anonymous "Yo know Da Rulz" note pads. Now instead of waxing my enemy's car I can just leave him a note...or if my boss misbehaves, I leave him a note. Of when my kid doesn't empty the dishwasher I give him the note and tell him Spencer wants him to do better! You have a great story and sense of humor! more power to you! (p.s. it was nice to see Kelly help in your recovery)
I googled 'Sterling Spencer injury' and an article states: “Everyone keeps asking me what happened. About a year and a half ago, I got hit in the head with my surfboard fin. Six months later I completely lost my mind, and I was walking the streets at night."
That was Jesus my man, he healed you for a reason, I know you know da rules you gotta dedicate your life to building his kingdom ! Maybe you have I don’t know but I’m waiting on my healing I know it’s coming! All I want in life here on out is to not waste my days away alone, I want to live a meaningful life and help others dig there way out of the darkness. Be present for my wife and daughters. Let ppl know how Jesus really does love us and all we gotta do is accept him believe he rose from the dead and is alive today kicking down the doors of depression anxiety injuries disease , braking the chains of drug addiction, it’s time to stand up for our savior forget politics forget being on one side against another, there’s bigger problems coming and the only way out is Jesus! The days coming when we will be getting barreled out of our minds “ with our Dads” up in heaven, I lost my pops early just like you and it wouldn’t be heaven without perfect tropical barreling point breaks I guarantee there both waiting to show us around 🤙🏼

so sick. surfing at its base is really about friends. I've had lots of friends go through crazy things and surfing has always been the constant.
