@Mister BlandmanStudios - thank you sir for highlighting those features. As an old guy just shy of 8 decades, I can use all the info I can get in my vain attempt to catch up with you youngbloods. So this is a two part comment: 1- I hope you are able to put the "install " in a post that makes it available to a wider segment- as a linux user I should be able to follow if it is explained sequentially. 2- using an improved google android linux OS that returns some anonymity to the general public is a very worthy goal - one that I would support heartily (and tell others about). I was extremely impressed by the scope of the grapheneOS website and their thorough explanation of why they are developing it in the way they are. It seems like a major improvement in google's commercial iteration. If you have a preference for any of the pixel series from 6's,7's, & 8's, I would appreciate hearing it. Thanks again, Mister Blandman - kudos to you for your efforts.
Mister Plainjane, thanks for the detailed comment! Glad to hear my videos are working for all ages! From the sounds of it, you're probably in the Linux-using segment of the audience that can follow along with the install video Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/CI8WfG1GxvM/v-deo.htmlsi=vgQN93fH2H8BJb4h I totally agree, the GrapheseOS website is quite impressive
To answer your question: I like the Pixel 6a because its cheapest and fast enough that I've never noticed a snag in the performance I haven't tried the 7 or 8 yet, so I wont know which is best
@BlandManStudios yes, & thx for your reply. Their website is overwhelming for most folks because they go into tremendous detail, which is good to know, but some of us two-leggeds do not or cannot work that diligently. They (it's just a handful of people) are trying to do what Google/Alpha should have done, but didn't. The intentions of the two groups are different. Goo wants profit and treats people arrogantly. GrapheneOS wants to give agency back to individuals. It's a question of autonomy, if i am seeing it clearly. Each will choose their own prison.
Glad you liked the video! My other graphene video might have some tips for setup. It was easier than I expected ua-cam.com/video/CI8WfG1GxvM/v-deo.html
The multi user system you talk the majority of your video about is not exclusive to GrapheneOS though and something you find in stock Android. Nonetheless there are unique features GrapheneOS has like the sandboxed play services and the ability to remove network and sensor permissions beyond just being much more secure than even the Android the Pixel devices run by default. :)
Two improvements over AOSP profiles is (1) notification forwarding and (2) ability to logout from the profile. Nota bene: the current maximum of the concurrent profiles *running* is only 3 (GrapheneOS github issue #4258) despite the AOSP maximum limited mostly by memory in Android 15.
@@BlandManStudios Haha, thanks. Looks like the perfect project for a long weekend (whenever I manage to get one). Good to see someone who appreciates Studio Ghibli 🙂
@@BlandManStudios It's the many icons on a small space that takes away attention. I know it looked good on a bigger canvas but becomes quite crowded in the middle of many other thumbnails.

Good to know! I guess its been too long since I've used stock android
You're totally right that those core GrapheneOS features are great!

At first I thought Jack Reacher is making tech videos in UA-cam, you legit look like Alan Ritchson (Jack Reacher)
Haha, thanks! Sounds like I need to hit the gym to keep up the appearance!
Where did you find that Totoro? I want one!
Built it myself from some designs I found online!

you misspelled GrapheneOS by the way
oops, fixed it in the title, thanks!
bros eyes are beautiful
Dude the profiles are not a grapheneOS thing
android if it was good
Totoro! 😃
Totoro!
It was pretty fun to build, got the designs for free here: ua-cam.com/video/PgskpSHWyIA/v-deo.htmlsi=H3SFnk3lC5MQWddh

Interesting video. Work on your thumbnail though.
Thanks!
Is the problem with the thumbnail that the video isn't answering the question "what does privacy + security equal?" Or something else?

Good tip, thanks for the input. Simplified it a bit
@ welcome, i see my suggestion with a link to a thumbnail did not come through.
Hmm... I wouldn't click the link, all I did was update it in UA-cam to have fewer icons
