Many years ago, on a cross-country bicycle trip, I got as close as Rochester, and wanted to see "the abandoned old prison down by Airdrie Hill." The locals gave me very vague directions how to get there (I got the feeling they were enjoying making the directions as vague and ambiguous as possible to the Yankee passing through on his silly bicycle), and I got as far as about 200 feet up a sandy dirt road. My tires sank in, slowing me waaaaay down, and the arduousness of pedaling in the soft road made the sweat roll down my face like rain on that summer's day. And that's when the sweat flies (horse flies) found me. I gave up right quick, turned back and never did see it. So I am truly grateful for you sharing this with me. And thanks for the great guitar music too!
BEAUTIFUL!

Glad you enjoyed the video. It sounds like you were getting close but it is a bit hard to find.
You should have just parked your bike & hiked! You were almost there! I walked there with my 11-y-old.
RIP, Mr, Prine!
Down the green river
I went there for the first time yesterday.
Did the air smell like snakes
Love this!
isn't this actually the ruins of the Iron works, not the prison ?
Yes
How do you get there? Is this the same as the prison you see going down green river?
