My truck is famous!, as you pulled into the car park you stopped and showed my plate, and walked past it later, it was also me that said hello as you left. Our second time there, lovely place and great staff.
Nice to meet you.
Very informative as always Bob & Jenny. Can't say I fancy the site really, all a bit of a faff with having to leave the car away from the unit (be it motorhome or caravan). Not a worry for me as we have children so it's well off the list!
Hi Bob, Jenny and Poppy
We were there 21st April this year, we stayed 3 nights and loved it.
The pub food was very good, we were lucky that it was very sunny that day.
We had no mobile signal, so to be honest it made us have a break from the internet for couple of days, not very good for people who rely on it to upload videos though.
We found the site very neat and tidy, and the shower, toilet blocks we found very good.
We hope you had a lovely stay, stay safe both and take care
Happy Holidays 😎
Lee & Lorrie
Looks a lovely attractive site, love the little water features dotted around. Thanks for showing us x
Hi Bob, looks a great place very well looked after, 10 pubs in 10 mins I couldn't drink that fast 😆😆
Been there and loved it. Plus welcome to Somerset my home county. A place of infinite beauty, with peace and tranquility all around. There are so many fabulous sites to visit, come back and enjoy...My home town of Somerton will knock your socks off. If history is your thing.
Excellent as usual. 😊👍
Great wee tune at the end,
And 10 pubs within 10 minutes,
Sorted 😁
Hi there you three..what a lovely site ...we are really enjoying your tour as always..excellent maneuvering as always bob..😍😍..poppy looks right at home there..bless her..xx
That site look's nice Bob and Jenny some were for poppy have good run nice and clean site as well . Take care both off you see you next time .
Fab as always x
What a beautiful site, lovely and clean and well organized. I think the information boards are brilliant. Enjoy your time ;))
it might be hard to have info boards for rural areas but a village implanted site is brilliant I AGREE
Looks a lovely site . Thankyou for another great video. I look forward to them 👍
Thank you both, what a great video, Lovely looking site, were there on the 18th June for 6 nights fully serviced pitch, i'll be following in my car so this video was so informative.
Walks look good too we don't have a dog but thinking about weather or not to take the push bikes, well thanks again for all the help happy traveling xx
We’ve fancied here, but having our car away from the caravan puts us off, we store some items in it. Great video as always 😀
Thanks for sharing Bob & Jenny lovely looking site very peaceful .looks like you definitely need a car to use from there.👍
Love seeing your videos ,getting back to caravanning after years out and great to see sites in advance, huge plus thanks for saying how many dogs allowed! I've 4 very well trained so it's not always easy! Safe travels and more adventures! Thanks 😊
There was a village underneath Chew Valley Lake, I remember seeing the remains of the cottages when the water level was down in 1976!
Thanks, didn't know that.
Class vid!
Looks lovely, i hope you & jenny enjoy your stay & of course we know how long it takes for poppy to get round her walk, lots of different smells, she's so cute xx 🐕
I remember going there with a caravan a few years ago. It was a pain not having the car next to the caravan because my Mum was in a wheelchair and pushing her over the gravel was uncomfortable x
Yes, it doesn't seem very friendly to wheelchair users.
You know by now I always love your videos and learn so much, but will send a link of this to my neighbours who will be arriving at Bath Chew Valley in a couple of days! Can’t wait for your review of Stover as I’ll be arriving there myself in a couple of weeks. Enjoy your tour both. xx
Thanks, glad you find it useful
The scenery was lovely as you got closer to the caravan park. It looks very nice there although I thought it looked a little more cramped than other sites.
Well done Bob. Good parking 😀👍
Thanks
Interesting and useful vlog, yes Bristol is a nightmare!!! Leaving the car in the carpark would be a problem for us as our dogs sleep in the car!!!
Yes, that would be a problem.
I keep all my caravan equipment /chairs etc in the car so wouldn’t want to be walking back and forward.
Hi Bob, great vid, looks like a nice spot. Poppy seemed to like the smells
Cheers
Nice vid 😊👍
Nice clean tidy site by the looks of it , hope you are finding the new camera is working well , footage looks clear and stable 👍
I'm really struggling with the stabilisation on the ZV1. Or rather the lack of compared to the GoPro.
Great post as always, thank you :) We'll be staying there this Sunday for the first time and can't wait now we've seen this!! The road leading up to the site looked a little narrow, fingers crossed we don't meet anyone coming the other direction. Best wishes to the both of you :)
You shouldn't meet anyone in a motorhome or with a caravan if you come in via the village, as it should be no right turn out of the campsite.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thank you 😊 That’s reassuring to know! Take care 👍
I was going to book this place up for a quick one night stopover for next weekend as i’m fairly local.
Quoted £55 which seems very steep. Also check in is 2pm which is too late in my opinion as it doesn’t give much time to do stuff in the afternoon.
It was a nice site, but expensive.
This was our first ever site in a motorhome , still looks great. Apparently the lake is the main water supply for Bristol.
Site looks very nice but ..... if you tow a caravan and are disabled does your car still have to remain in the car park? Just a thought for those where walking is a problem.
I don't know, but they do let you bring the car to the caravan for loading and unloading.
*Been there, this is where you unhitch your caravan and they tow it to the pitch an leave your car in car park.. - I forgot to turn off tracker and soon got a message alarm "Was this Authorised Movement" - proved Tracker worked great. Considered charges expensive and although facilities 100% bit over the top. You are allowed to take your car to pitch to unload any items however, as we store many items in rear of hatchback to reduce towing weight. Pitches on the small side and pack 'em in. Disappointing partial walks **_around_** Lake Chew Valley Lake, Summary as an Elder Citizen 7½ out of 10*
Thanks
I thought I saw you coming down the M5 last Thursday... about 1PM.. If not it was an identical MH/Car combo :)
Isnt that service station part of the Westmoreland group, the same as whats on the M6 at Shap?
It's a good one, so maybe.
Looks nice site but leaving the car on carpark. Not sure about that plus when awning not up car is our storage. X
Hi Bob Jenny do you cover the front of the car when towing to stop stone chips if not do you get many stone chips just had our fiat 500 fitted with an A frame and wondered how you go on cheers George
No I don't see the need to spend £400-500 on a bonnet cover. Been A frame towing now for over 5 years and I've not noticed any problems with stone chips and yes the car needs a wash when we get home.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo thanks Bob for the reply have a great few days there 👍
Hi Bob and Jenny, great video. Site looks really good. Bob, does your Ducato not have a built-in tpms? I thought that it would have as it's such a late model. Enjoy the site.
It does, but doesn't warn you until there is a problem, works by monitoring the speed of rotation of the tyre. The reason I went for TyrePal was that my Ducato's TPMS did not warn me that my rear tyre was down to 40 PS. With the TyrePal you can set upper and lower limits for temperature and pressure to forewarn you of any problems. Plus it will tell you if a bearing is running hot, or brakes are binding.
just as I remember the access road! It's one way out though! Do they still hire a car there?
Hi,
Yes they still hire the car 👍
Yes, it was on the notice board for car hire.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo yes, sorry, I just got excited when I saw the entry road again, I should have waited to post, sorry 😞
Which Satnav do you use?
This one ua-cam.com/video/ezuzf1Ycc6I/v-deo.html
Good video but sadly that site is not for us
Good video but unfortunately not my kind of site.
Fed up of all the adverts
Sorry,, but they help to keep us making videos, pay for the trips, equipment and the time and effort we put into making these videos.
Stuffy attitude we thought. Bathrooms are far too small. Rave next door!!!! Not a lot of sleep. Awful neighbours to the site. Wi-Fi is awfully slow( if you can connect )and we paid for it on top. Definitely not for us.
I hate it when you get noisy neighbours, it's so inci siderate!
Hi there you three..what a lovely site ...we are really enjoying your tour as always..excellent maneuvering as always bob..😍😍..poppy looks right at home there..bless her..xx
Hi Bob do you use a magnetic towing sign on the front of your motorhome to let ppl know you towing your car i know you have them on the car letting ppl know from behind cheer's 👍 enjoy yourself's 👍👍
No, there's no legal requirement to do that and I very much doubt it would make the slightest difference.
Cheer's for that it was just a thought you know what some ppl are like on the road's now a day's they don't alway's think you are towing👍👍
I think if they can't spot a car behind the motorhome, they'll hardly notice a sign.
