When the knob of butter is melting, I like to add a knob of butter to give the butter a nutty flavour.
MrNotchJohnson excellent 😂
MrNotchJohnson show some respect he as recently died
@@DEC19775 We all do eventually.
@@DEC19775 is it ok to laugh at this now?
You’re a goon.
I love it.
😂
RIP Gary Rhodes: A man with a heart of gold, nerves of steel and a knob of butter.
😂😂😂 ffs
Great chef - likeable guy, always enthusiastic, clear instructions and did the simple stuff very well. Rest in peace Gary
Remember this from 20 years ago . No drama , just great knowledge and a lovely demeanour .
He forgot the black pudding, hash browns, baked beans, black coffee, orange juice and 11 pints of lager .
This video is about full ENGLISH breakfast. Black pudding is Irish or Scottish, hash browns are American, baked beans are optional, black coffee and Orange juice are not English and the 11 pints, well you decide.
@@Aarontlondon Black pudding has long been associated with Lancashire and is popular in many parts of England. I agree with you about hash browns - they're American, as are baked beans. They were first imported from America in the 1880s by Fortnum & Mason, who sold them as a luxury item, believe it or not! How times have changed :)
@@Aarontlondon baked beans are not optional, neither is black pud, but you can stick your hash browns up your arse
quick46 you must be a melt what kind of pussy doesn’t want hash browns or chips on a fry up
@@cheesybellend6842 It's not a fry up, it's an English breakfast
What he was brilliant at , simple foods but cooked to perfection that breakfast looks stunning. RIP Gary Rhodes you championed British food when it needed it.
This guy doesn't mind his knobs of butter
should see how much James Martin used to use
Or syrup
your mum is a door knob
everyone has had a turn
So bloody passionate about a simple sausage and bacon and humble old fry up, never mind his British classic/ modern fine dining cuisine ,my god its astounding , thats what it took to get to the top of his game. Absolute Legend .🙏
a breakfast to die from!
If your active, this type of food will do you no harm. My grandfather's 89, eats all kinds of food, doesn't smoke, doesn't consume alcohol, walks 3km a day, and has plenty of good food.
It's sad to see that a lot of people consider a good old fry up as bad food, get off your lazy ass, stay active, eat well and be happy :)
William Blackwood
Good on him. They do say motion is the lotion👍
I try to hike regualrly and do alot of weight lifting, not because I'm a fitness nut or to look good, i just want to be able to eat stuff like this as much as i want without having to worry about my weight.
False. lol
Your granddad probably has great genes. My grandpa reached 87 having smoked heavily since he was 12. For most people, regular fried food is terrible health wise. Exercise might keep the body nice and trim, but your arteries and organs will be in horrific shape
William Blackwood well said 👏
I use Dripping, thanks for everything Gary RIP.
beautiful cant get a better breakfast
I personally get in contact with English Breakfast when i visited London during school exchange in 1974. It was great...
Since then i sometimes (if i find the time) try to make an English breakfast like this.
Thanks for this vid and greetings from Germany
Uwe
Damn, that looks great!
Looks class but needs black pudding and beans to be complete. Dumpling and potato scones too maybe. Plus on the side there needs to be toast with a selection of jams, a few pieces of fruit, a pot of tea or big cup of coffee and some orange juice. That's perfection.
Adding a knob of butter to fried bread! Jesus!
nicely explained
This was one of my first thoughts!
NOTE: this recipe requires a whole brick of butter.
why dont he fry the bred in bacen fat
legend this is a good example how simple his cooking was
I go with bacon fat for my fried bread. It doesn't really make the bread taste salty either.
"How do you like your bread in the morning?" Mmmm "I like mine with a couple of blocks of butter" 🤣
Three part video for a breakfast that’s all fried in the same pan. Lol.
looks good
What a nice guy. RIP Gary. I must say I grill nearly all of it and no black pudding? Oh dear, glaring omission. Hey ho, variety is King, have it your way.........
@MrMGD92 everything in moderation, including moderation...
yummy!
A superb meal, as long as you can have a lie down for at least 30 minutes afterwards
no baked beans?
Ivan Chung no blood pudding?
@AppIeHero Do they also have unsalted butter shake with full cream milk?
a breakfast to die for.... true
Notably, people live longer in the UK than the USA. The life expectancy for men and women in the US in 2016 was 76.4 and 81.4 years, while in the UK, those numbers stood at 79.04 and 82.72.
A good breakfast after a very long night with friends. My aunt made that when I visited her in my holidays. I loved it.
i like battered butter......get a full block or butter dip in egg then breadcrumbs and repeat..........then deep fry
Black pudding is tame. Where I come from we have something that roughly translates to "pork blood stew". Basically black pudding in stew form with pork and offal.
It's actually pretty good. ;)
A breakfast to die from !!! but i love it :P
No beans!!! Who forgets the beans,..... had a nightmare has are old Rhodesy!!
Baked beans are a latterday American affectation [as are 'hash browns' (properly, potato rösti)] that were never a part of a truly traditional English breakfast that goes back centuries.
We eat out beans with hot dogs, friends, please explain why Brit s have with breakfast?
@@MichaelRosenbaum29 Probably as a slimming aid, and because we do not want to end up grotesquely fat, overweight, and morbidly obese in the manner of most Americans who do not know the meaning of a small or medium portion.
@@haunteddiary15 An interesting thesis; however, as I explained in my post, the traditional English breakfast goes back decades: that is decades before someone added baked beans in the early 20th century. Also traditional potato cakes, as enjoyed in Ireland and Scotland, bear no resemblance to the "hash browns" beloved by Americans. They more closely resemble the Swiss Rösti, in which grated raw potato is the main ingredient. I have been fortunate enough to find myself sitting in American kitchens closely watching American chefs tenderly making and slowly cooking their "hash browns" on a few occasions. Not for them the pre-frozen cakes that contain small compressed chunks of potato so beloved of the frozen food industry.
@@alangeorgebarstow I'd venture to say that if Americans were suddenly to have only English cuisine to enjoy, their weight issues would soon disappear.
Baked beans please! My childhood memories demand baked beans!
@Styhn what is the name of it?
I wish I were a breakfast person. The only way I could tackle this deliciousness is by stretching it to 3 meals!
@htews Take some butter and place in a pan. Melt over a medium heat for two to three minutes. Then pour the butter into a bowl and eat with a wooden spoon.
Super tasty.
I'm not British, but bloody hell, this was delicious! Haha.
Where's the brown sauce! *Said loudly in a Gordon Ramsay voice.
benders have brown sauce
F**k Gordon Ramsay
RIP X
In this video it is showed fried egg and bread but at last they are showing so many items what are the rest
Cook the butter in some butter. When the butter has melted add your butter and pour the butter over the butter.
Do you put some butter in your coffee, too?
yes, and rum
Best comment here 😂
BUTTER
RIP GARY.
"There you are. A breakfast to die for." Sounds obvious isn't it.
Ah man.. love a fried slice..
Gotta be done in the fat from bacon and sausages tho
@robertk2007 45 - 50 if you add beans and black tea
a breakfast fit to rule a empire nice work my brit friends no granola no yogurt meat potatoes vegetables nice i love it
What? no grits smothered in melted butter? He did say, this isn't a breakfast to eat often which, no doubt, is correct. Unhealthy? Certainly. Delicious? Absolutely. As a southern American, I can appreciate this fried breakfast. And on a rare weekend morning, this would be quite a treat.
Whatever problems you're having in life. If you think it can't get any worse, I think Gary did teach us a valuable lesson... Add a knob of butter......
Now for tea
I always cook my butter in butter
,😂😂
Just listen to the way he talks. Obviously I can't PROVE anything, but I can tell you this: If I were in the same room as this fella I'd keep my back to the wall.
@antny90 He puts it on his hair aswell I think.
@digireedoo
Fair enough :-)
I have this once a week..53 no cholesterol issues.
I always cook my fried eggs BUTTER
LOL
Don't you guys call it blood sausage? Or isn't there some delhi or french bistro that serves Boudin Noir? i could be wrong though
i LOVE Buttah!
@AppIeHero because it gives it that nutty flavour
He sure likes a little breakfast with his butter!
@sng1867 He uses the excess oil and butter on his hair.
This breakfast was for somebody with a lot of work
Now that's a fry-up!
Where`s Gary`s trademark Salt shake?. You need that to go with all the butter.
Some places serve it with chips (its completely wrong imho, but they do).
1:46 flowing with oil
@TheBarryviper Knew there was something missing lol couldnt put my finger on it, yer youre right, BAKED BEANS!! (Plus of course the toast)
Why is anyone bothering to say this is unhealthy? Even he admits it's unhealthy. It's a treat!! And it bloody well looks like one to me! :)
@antny90 He even uses it for his hair.
yes, being English I am familiar with this concept- just curious how you arrived at that decision lol
@Carus92 Cook butter.
I shudder to think what it would be like lol
You need beans with cheese and chips and black pudding and hash browns with it
Butter on egg is great
Fucking loves his butter does our Gary.
@kaiuycn Ok.
The only unhealthy things here are white bread and the cooking oil. Everything else is in fact great for you, despite popular myths that are rampant among the common people.
Well it escaped you and you're common, you dont have a pot to piss in
gary rhodes: loves his cream & butter.
Knobs of butter was his schtick.
Guys I dont want to alarm anyone, but DID YOU NOTICE THERE'S APHEX TWIN SONG PLAYING IN THIS VIDEO?
Where is the Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce????
ahahhaah i lol'd
Clarified butter is better .Reaches a better high TEMP . without burning . Available as Ghee .
tomato beans?
@derbigpr500 Ok.
@potterylady1 Well African Americans know good food, so you can't go wrong eating the kind of food they eat.
It killed him in the end.
So just add butter to every you fry
May be the fat counter is over scale..but it is so delicious...
Lol whatever you say, Boss.
Where's the black pudding
He forgot to mention you need an entire tub/block of butter for each breakkie...
