Great Dyno Review! I love the concept of this Amp, and D4S delivered all the way! There are a lot of 10Ch CA Systems out there that use 2 5CH amps. This takes the two and puts it all inside 1 chassis. Brilliant! And leaving any filtering is honestly the right choice. No one with a basic understanding of Car Audio is going to build a 10CH speaker system without using a DSP. So why add the cost of a Bunch of filters when they'll just get bypassed anyways. That just increases the consumer price for features that won't get used. D4S delivered the perfect amplification for an awesome 10CH speaker system at a fantastic price. I've seen systems using 2 of the Masconi 5/30's which retail $2500ea. Is the Class A/B on the front 8 speakers worth an additional $4,100?? I suspect not.
Interesting product but not sure I see a big market for it. For someone looking for a simple upgrade, 5/6 channel amp is perfect, especially amps like Audio Control that have nice DSP options built in. I feel like enthusiasts would go with multiple amps and external processing for more control and install options, but perhaps I'm wrong.
@@d77543020That’s the exact reason I want this when it came out a couple months ago. It has enough power to run the rear subs on one channel and a front sub on the other, plus front 3 way and some rears. It’s a bargain as long as it’s clean. Raw Kat had some hiss but Big D didn’t mention anything about it so maybe they aren’t all like that.
With no onboard crossover, you are expected to use a 10 ch DSP. Why not put a fiber optic output on the DSP and fiber optic input on the amp? It would make installation so much easier and clean.
The problem with optical is it's only 2 channel and many new cars have sensors that beep through every speaker so rca is still the most realistic in newer vehicles.
@@melissathompson7229they would have to use a proprietary cable with 5 TOSLINK signals combined (but separated inside obviously). Which then requires the same on the other side, so it would also require adding the same proprietary output from their own DSP. At that point it's not really much of a value add that would cost plenty to develop. I. E. Not worth the effort.
@melissathompson7229 it doesn't matter, tho. The dsp will equally divide the signal into 8-10 channels or whatever channels are needed. Having a digital input is far better than analog. I know that a DSP will have to convert the signal back into analog. But, when it's converted, it is at its highest form. For example, I do not have to adjust the digital input signal into my dsp. I don't have to set any input gains or adjust the frequency unlike analog that introduces clipping if not properly set
Great stuff from D4S. I think instead of those crappy pigtail connectors though they should have just put a DB25 connector for the first 8 channels to connect a standard snake and I guess a pair of RCAs for the sub channels. If someone has this many channels running between two units they should be using a snake anyways
This is a crazy amplifier. If i could make use of a 9 + 1 channel Dolby Atmos capability on the head unit, and i used something like a galaxy S9 and a dsp with the splitter Big D used, it would probably be a ridiculous SQ setup with maybe a pair of JL Audio W6v3 or even 3x W7 13's. This is truly a one stop amplifier for any needs you might have. Hell, i bet it would power a home theater setup with Dolby Atmos and all that for a lot less money than a dedicated set of amplifiers and something like a Denon recievier. You are gonna need to keep the receiver either way to do all the processing and dsp work, but this amplifier would be great for a 9+2 surround sound setup with plenty of power on tap. Only big expense mihjy be an ac/dc power supply and a couple batteries to keep the amplifier fed.
Though there are only 38 dislikes, these always baffle me. What's not to like? Big D always brings it. What we audio freaks need to know. I'm always down for it D.

Ha ha, mice 🙃 Back in the early 90's I had a 900 Watt 6 channel Targa hexfet similar to this that was very impressive for the time. It was bridgeable, had 3 gain controls & 3 xover's & I really miss that one. I have yet to find another one like it though 🙃 ..
I'd like to comment on dyno numbers. If you put a 40 hz tone and look for peak you may be seeing part of the picture, a un -measured clip. You should have an oscope viewing the peak. The amount has to hold power for a certain amount of time to complete the wave for given frequency, otherwise your measuring noise.

With multiple channels like this, speaker level inputs and internal channel summing would make this amplifier even more versatile. Also, not having the wiring schematics for the rca inputs on the amplifier case may lead to issues down the road when the rca molex plugs are lost. Anyway..Blah.
Hey big d i was curious when you're listening to taramps do they sound different to you versus like what I'm wondering is there a sound different than a class d half bridge to you or can you tell the difference?
Now the only thing left is for them to incorporate the DSP into the amp and than its a full package in one. I often wonder why dont companies include some sub channels on their DSP amps as well to allow an all in one system from 1 dsp amp.
Im thinking, I might do something like this, if I had one of these: channels 1 & 2: (HF) PRV D-280 hlcd 3 & 4: (mr) Scanspeak Revelator 6.5" 5 & 6: (m/b) B & C PE32 12" midbass 7 & 8: (subs) bridged to IA Flatlyne 15" 9 & 10: (subs) bridged to IA Flatlyne 15" * just bench-racing here off the top of my head, so don't bother telling me anything negative
Can you ask Sam what he thinks of the board? I think it's impressive, but I don't fix them like he does:) raw cat vids of this amp are also excellent like yours
Dayum...One amp solution. And the sub section is actually useful. Most multichannel amps have a wimpy sub amp section. 3k is adequate for most systems. I might buy one on gp.
Why not have four RCA-in (or maybe six for sub channel assuming head unit has one) with selectable inputs? Seems overly complex. Maybe I'm out of the loop.
It's a space issue as there isn't enough room on the amp itself to have all RCA ins, but an external box with single connection to the amp would be nice
This is one of the best (mixed power/dedicated sub) 5+chan amps that I have ever seen, with the Audison LRx 5.1k being my all time past favorite for a simple front stage + sub setup. This D4S Amp takes things to a whole new level. I actually LOVE the fact that the price isn't increased any further with unneeded active frequency control onboard, which would most times be left unused, as it would fall short of a standalone unit for most users anyway. The fact that this thing has enough balls to run a SERIOUS 3-way front stage (active bandpass bridged mid bass + active hi-pass/passive 2-way mid+tweeter components), a decent rear stage (active hi-pass/passive 2-way components) and still have enough power left over to run 1700-2700W of Subwoofer output (depending on configuration) makes this thing an easy sell. I can't wait to get one and plan a new system around it.....and battery(s) + alternator(s)....LMAO. Add an AudioControl DM-810 DSP and call it a day. As always, thanks for the Info Big-D !
First of all i love your videos. Please show the amp specs for every video in description. Just put at the bottom of description. Ive had a brain injuries and short term memory is terrible. Love the videos but i need to see actual data so i can decide on my next amp purchase. Maybe make a paid subscription to go to speced dyno sheets so that we can compare amps. Id sort by price and wattage or by channels. So easy to compare them. A selectable comparison would be nice for comparing say two or 4 amps side by side. You channel is only one id pay for to be honest.
Just like factory horsepower is measured at the engine n gas mileage is measured in the PERFECT conditions- The amp dyno is similar. Zero rise/ controlled battery power and in the perfect conditions but that is still the best way to test the amps power. I didn't realize this amp had zero filters n crossovers. Which means extra dsp n crossovers are needed. To me- those built in adjustments should b mandatory. Maybe a nice 7 channel should b made. Crossovers n filters with a big 3/4k sub channel. D4s is doing great. Its been a while since NEW designs are out- be different stand out
But running these tests through this amp dyno is VERY demanding which basically amounts to a torture test. This is far from an easy test, especially running the 40hz pulse tone for dynamic testing, It takes a lot out of these amps
I disagree. Whenever a DSP is used all the Filters on an Amp are bypassed. Which results in component cost in the Amp that isn't being used. An amplifier like this isn't for the person building a basic first timer DIY system. This Amp is designed for advanced sound systems which would expect the use of a DSP. Adding Filters to this Amp would needlessly increase the price. Anyone wanting a system without a DSP will simply look elsewhere, this Amp isn't for them.
I been noticing the super inflated numbers on some of ur amp Dyno videos hifi vector just did a Dyno video on the Orion 3ksplx and it only did rated power around 5k and did nowhere near the 10k u was claiming there's other amps with inflated numbers like the surge audio I believe was a 3 k u showed it doing around double or tripple rated and ppl that have those amps have showed it does right at rated .
He also has a huge bank of lithium and literally explains every video that in the real world these amps will never do close to this power. Which is why I personally think these videos are sort of pointless, but it's really the only objective numbers you can show on a video, as the sound quality through here wouldnt be possible obviously
If you have amps that are thousands of watts you have to give it proper power. Why. Wouldn't these tests be real world situations if you do whats needed to run such big amps?
Super inflated? C’mon man. The power is what it is. HFV has a newer version of the 3k SPLX with 4 vs my 6 transformers. I don’t fake any tests and none of my results are “inflated” 🤦♂️
I recently made my first purchase with down4sound and I have to say I am not impressed. "Recertified beware" So I purchased a Recertified JP95T and read very thoroughly the product page and it stated "PRODUCT COULD HAVE SOME SMALL SCRATCHES / BLEMISHES." which I am ok with but, when it arrived there was no bass knob and the plexi backplate was cracked all the way across and what the fan is mounted the 2 of the protective fins are broken off as well. so when I contacted D4S the agreed to send a bass knob which should've been in the box to begin with and held up my install, but informed me that I would have to purchase a new backplate at $50. So I at that point I could have just gotten a new one with a longer warranty. scratch and small blemishes does not mean broken. I cant even mount it plexi up because the fan is not protected. Just a FYI but I will be returning it and going with a different brand
It is possible that bottom plate was cracked in shipment but I’d agree about the bass knob not being included. Should have been in the description or at least a notice saying may be missing parts such as the cable or remote
I would have bought it already but the other review on Rawcat channel, it had a good bit of noise on the output (with no signal input connected). I wounder if its a common thing with this amp?
That noise was just on a couple of channels so he made sure not to put his tweeters on those channels. It's probably due to the board layout and those two channels might have been too close to some other noisy circuits.
@@JasonWW2000 Yes, I saw the video. Though all the channels had noise. He just picked the best ones for tweets and mids. This is not acceptable for me personally. I would rather have 10 amps in my car than deal with an All-in-One amp that pollutes all the time and money invested in my setup. I was just wondering is anyone bought one, and had the same issue. Im hoping that maybe Rawcat got a bad one (wishful thinking).
@johnd5542 You saw the video, but did you understand it? All amps produce noise. All amps produce distortion. All amps pollute. It's just to different degrees. So it really comes down to what YOU find to be acceptable or not. You might listen to it and think it's perfectly acceptable. Or you might listen to it and find that none of the channels are quiet enough for you. You won't really know until you listen to it for yourself, using your speakers. If your a super picky person and want a super low noise floor, but don't plan to crank it up and use all that power you could set the gains lower than usual. This is what I do to get a silent noise floor because I tend to do critical listening with the engine off and I don't ever crank it up super loud. If you only listen with the engine running and you need all that power to get loud, you may not even notice the noise floor. You could always get it and try it out. If it's not up to your standards, sell it. Or you can wait awhile. I believe JP is going to make some improvements on the next batch. Hopefully, this gives you some different perspectives to think about and is helpful. High end car audio can be such a pain sometimes. Lol
@JasonWW2000 Ya I understood it well. My take is that it's most likely a poorly thoughtout design, which was rushed out to the market without care. Or, possibly Rawcat was sent a bunk unit (I have my doubts). Of course all amps have noise, but this amp would be terrible for anyone even remotely into sq. I ripped out and reinstalled all of my interior (headliner, seats, carpet, cards, dash, plastics, ect.) to combat road noise with vibraflex, plywood and deadening. There is zero chance id be ok with any amp making any audible noise. If you want a easy install cheap street beater banging and vibrating down the block, then this amp might work for you. Ive had many amps over the years, none of them had (audible) noise with no signal input. To be honest I think Rawcat down played his disappointment. He seems to be nice dude and probably didn't want to bash JP. Not to mention, shttn on sponsors isnt the best if you're trying grow your channel financially.
Being just shy of 600 watts rating on a fully loaded down multi channel amp and power bank is impressive as hell and anyone that disagrees with that is a moron.

This is specifically for someone who wants to go 3-way active plus rear and sub in one amplifier
Good point!
The problem with optical is it's only 2 channel and many new cars have sensors that beep through every speaker so rca is still the most realistic in newer vehicles.
Digital coax would be better
Really cool solution to a mid level build.
Properly matched with efficient drivers, I'll wager this would power a very enviable system
Great stuff from D4S. I think instead of those crappy pigtail connectors though they should have just put a DB25 connector for the first 8 channels to connect a standard snake and I guess a pair of RCAs for the sub channels. If someone has this many channels running between two units they should be using a snake anyways
Very cool that it is a one amp solutiom. I wanted to use 2 JP 95's like a year ago and this would be great to install but it is large.
is there any car audio project that focused on dolby atmos? I feel like this can be use for that since it has separate input channels
There are some that will never be impressed and some give dislikes because they don’t like the product, not for the quality or content in the video 🤦♂️
Toughest part of shopping for amps these days is deciding which color JP amp I should get bc I don't even look at other brands anymore
They make good products but have a retardded website layout
Ha ha, mice 🙃
Back in the early 90's I had a 900 Watt 6 channel Targa hexfet similar to this that was very impressive for the time. It was bridgeable, had 3 gain controls & 3 xover's & I really miss that one. I have yet to find another one like it though 🙃 ..
What a wild amp. I picture a Bit One HD Virtuoso straight into this thing for a monster total system SQ build. Mmmm
I’m interested in this one since I want to wire all my speakers

I'd like to comment on dyno numbers.
If you put a 40 hz tone and look for peak you may be seeing part of the picture, a un -measured clip. You should have an oscope viewing the peak. The amount has to hold power for a certain amount of time to complete the wave for given frequency, otherwise your measuring noise.
You can read about how the Dyno works and how it measures power if you have any concerns about the results
I agree, Big D. Its the amp to rule them all. Tjat amp has a lot of options on it thanks to down 4 sound.
👌😊👍
It's anything like the jp23 it's a pos I have had 2 both stopped after 16 months or so had to pay extra for .5 ohm warranty and have been emailing d4s now for 3 weeks once each week no reply zero zilch nothing spent 900 bucks plus w them worst choice I've ever made should have bought my orion hcca 3k long ago its way cleaner and pushes much more than both those pos d4s jp fk show trash

What would be a good dsp besides the Down4Sound models?

PLEASE ask JP to produce a matching DIY male RCA kit (to match the dongle RCAs for those of us who like to display our connectors)... multiple options, Y-Splitter DIYs or whatever would be great... LOVE the Kicker marine line for the ultimate flexibility... is there any focus group need? IDK. Like in Tron, I'm 'just' a User, not part of the Program. No complaints about D4S... no one has done what JP has done. Kudos. Plz don't tell Mr. Irby.
I will stick with my alibaba 8 channel class ab amplifier!!
I'd love to run one of these on an active 4-way system.
Please do a review on the Orion cbt 3500x4

Any idea if 1ohm x 1 is possible on sub channel?
No that would be 0.5 per channel and not recommended
No
Sony GS100 pls
What ohm load was placed on channels 1-8 during testing of the sub channels?
8 ohms bridged x 4 equals 4 ohm load per channel x 8

A d4s amp that doesn’t do doubled rated power?
I think it would be helpful if you showed setting the amp gain in some of the videos from time to time using different methods

I have a similar amp, but its a Hifonics zeus 5000-5 channel amp on 4 alpine 6 x 9's and 1 solo baric 15.
That was sick!

Hey big d i was curious when you're listening to taramps do they sound different to you versus like what I'm wondering is there a sound different than a class d half bridge to you or can you tell the difference?
I need this ❤
Hello! Can you test a deafbonce atom 7.5k?
"One [Allen]Key to adjust them all."
Can you please do a dyno of the ds18 gen x 4000.5 5 channel amp?
Have you ever thought of testing a pboyz p2000 amp?
Now the only thing left is for them to incorporate the DSP into the amp and than its a full package in one.
I often wonder why dont companies include some sub channels on their DSP amps as well to allow an all in one system from 1 dsp amp.
I agree and hope they can fit into a MiniMax size heatsink 🤘
Can you test the new 2024 Soundqubed f1 3k amp?
Something tells me Big D tried his best to not hold back the orange joke
Im thinking, I might do something like this, if I had one of these:
channels 1 & 2: (HF) PRV D-280 hlcd
3 & 4: (mr) Scanspeak Revelator 6.5"
5 & 6: (m/b) B & C PE32 12" midbass
7 & 8: (subs) bridged to IA Flatlyne 15"
9 & 10: (subs) bridged to IA Flatlyne 15"

Can you test the Behringer NX 3000D/6000D , it‘s a PA amp and has a build in DSP. I was interested if the amp actually delivers the power it promised.
Thanks for the suggestion 👌
I know I’m just nitpicking, but how in the hell do they not get the color right when they got everything else under control?❤
Made in different places probably.

Does anyone know what Class-D controllers, drivers this amp uses?

Dayum...One amp solution. And the sub section is actually useful. Most multichannel amps have a wimpy sub amp section. 3k is adequate for most systems. I might buy one on gp.
Was thinking the same thing.
Good, but one power supply = ten Chanel. İf middle Chanel short circuit very problem.thanks.
there are 2 power supplies, one for the 8ch section and another for the channels 9/10. Sorry I wasn't clear in the video
@@wal thanks.
Wow that's not a bad price considering what you getting. Probably need a better alternator with that beast.
No doubt!
You channel is only one id pay for to be honest.
lol the 8ga remote wire this serious business
Might having to do a sq setup with this bad boy!
Big D, stop by the Massive Audio booth at SEMA!!!!
I’m not sure if I’m going or not but if I do I’ll stop by for sure!
please do! we have some cool new stuff!!!!
See the JP77 that is their 7ch amp which I’ve also reviewed
@@thebkg I absolutely refuse to run a system without a DSP anyways
The numbers weren't that far off he got 4825 and 1 ohm certified vector got 4222 nowhere in the video did I see 10K
@@wal guess that's what the huge difference in power is strange it's the same model number tho right ?

I’d love that amplifier to power all my midranges and stay in stereo mode with juice to spare.
2 channel for 12" or 15" full range is my favourite, not for every set of wheels, though, newer ones can't fit them
I recently made my first purchase with down4sound and I have to say I am not impressed. "Recertified beware"
So I purchased a Recertified JP95T and read very thoroughly the product page and it stated "PRODUCT COULD HAVE SOME SMALL SCRATCHES / BLEMISHES."
which I am ok with but, when it arrived there was no bass knob and the plexi backplate was cracked all the way across and what the fan is mounted the 2 of the protective fins are broken off as well. so when I contacted D4S the agreed to send a bass knob which should've been in the box to begin with and held up my install, but informed me that I would have to purchase a new backplate at $50.
👍
Dang look at the current pull tho... 🥴🤨
One amp wonders 🙌 love it. Thank you. I promise to make the product better
This is not SQ
Well please tell us all about the extensive testing you did to come up with that conclusion.
Everybody has their own definition of SQ.
