Glad to see you back! A few other UA-cam content creators I follow have changed their vibe and content as they also have full time jobs away from here. The reasoning is usually they noticed their videos were noticeably insincere and not fun to make since they were just making videos to make videos. Now they’re making their videos based on what they care about and not just because they have to and it shows.
I get you wanna post things the “we” will enjoy. You can’t please everyone. But in the end, I’m sure all the regulars will be happy knowing you’re enjoying the content you’re making. I think at this point we’re here more for your personality. Heck, look at all the posts of people saying they’re happy to see you again and glad you’re back.
hiiii welcome back! I rarely comment, but I think you should do what YOU want and the audience will follow. Even if your hardcore film audience isn't into k dramas and anime, there is a huuuuuuge subset of people who will find your channel and appreciate what you're doing (and many of us old viewers will stick around as well). I also really enjoyed your LOTR book content and if reading is something that you're doing a lot of, you should definitely do more book to movie videos. I recognize that UA-cam is a numbers game, but making content that you don't like just because it's what's comfortable for your audience isn't worth your unhappiness. I'm excited to see what you do with this channel and as someone who doesn't watch many k dramas/anime, I am looking forward to getting new recommendations from you!
People change, interests change, styles change. The ones who matter won't care, and the ones who care won't matter. The world is cruel, let alone the internet. I haven't been here for the majority of your UA-cam journey, but the time I've spent here has been great! I think I speak for most long term supporters when I say we'll enjoy whatever you put out! This platform should be for you to express yourself first and foremost. Be nice to yourself. :)
You have to do what you're passionate about. Have to. Don't compromise. If you're sincere and love the content you're producing, the right and most appreciative audience will find you. The new subject matter doesn't appeal to me, BUT I 1,000% encourage you to go that route. Life is too short to do anything less than what makes you happy and gives you fulfillment. Go for it, do it for yourself, and love every second of it.
Don't feel obligated to post. You can keep those videos in the vault if you want. As somebody who used to work in editing, I completely understand that it's a grind that can get mentally draining (that along with it being freelance and an unknown amount of compensation are why I don't work in that field anymore). It would be cool to see some more vlogs like you used to when you were smaller. I've never been to Australia so seeing that sprinkled in could be cool. They may not get as many views as your reactions, but it's always a fun time and the process isn't as grueling. Plus, you don't have to worry about copyright. As for the negative comments. People are jerks and that says more about them than it does about you. As somebody who has anxiety (I'm actually experiencing some ongoing cyberbullying over a harmless comment I made on a video) I get it. P.S. Hope you enjoyed your 30th!

Going through a similar KDrama and Asian cinema journey. The Korean Zombie genre drew me in back in 2017 and then lockdown gave me the opportunity to explore Kdramas in general. Same with Kpop and now I’m trying to learn Korean. 2023 being a crap year and dealing with skin issues -totally relatable. You are not alone. Do/film the things you love; the right community will grow around you😊
I’ve been a subscriber of your channel for a long time even before you do your commentary videos and I have been a kpop and kdrama fans even longer than that (starting around 2009) so I’m so excited that you have discovered the wonderful world of korean shows and kpop! I personally am very passionate about Asian Cinema myself and would be thrilled to see this incorporated into the channel! I understand why you’ve been gone so long and it’s ok. Switching up what you do is great you need to keep it fun for you too. You will see a lot more people come when you switch.
Your reaction and opinions of the movie is more important than the actual movie. The majority of us have already seen the entire movie, so we are here for you. There is a lot of royalty free music, just pick one you like and play it over the footage of the movie. Put a speech bubble up that say something like, OOPS, CAN'T PLAY REAL SONG. You can mirror swap the image. Put weird emojis over some of the people's faces. Make it fun. If you watch Jason, put a funny meme in place of the killing. This is your channel, make it fun and the haters can go away. Your fans are here for you.
I’m just glad you’re back and yes, you have to try and thicken your skin if possible. Asking what I like, well movies and music. That being said I’m a retired American who also leans left. You do what you’re comfortable with and your health comes first. Pace yourself….peace.

Outside of anime, I am unfamiliar with K Pop/Drama, but would love for you to introduce me to it. I would only ask to stick to doing videos/commentaries that make you happy. Just some words of encouragement to you. As someone who is a very strong conservative Christian man, you're allowed to have and speak about your more left-leaning ideas or opinions without getting unnecessarily harassed or hated for them. People gotta learn to respectfully disagree and still love one another despite our differences. Some people live online too much and need to touch grass. We should all understand that we don't have to compromise personal convictions to be compassionate. Healthy discussions or debates can be a thing, but sometimes people go too far. Sew love and respect everyone. Not hate and malice. Also, I totally relate to falling down the Korean cultural rabbit hole. It happened to me back in early 2021. I don't really watch the K-dramas, but I listen to a lot of different K-pop girl groups and I also picked up studying the Korean language. I'm on a 28 day streak on Duolingo and I had two to three months of study back in 2021 as well. It is surprising how much of a hold it can have on you 😂 I would love to watch videos about your K-pop journey. I hope you find this encouraging and that you also get back into editing and that your 2024 is full of blessings and happiness.
This is your channel, you do what you want. Your fans will support you no matter what. And don't be afraid to block the haters; some channels love to stir the pot & encourage stuff like that, but if you don't want to deal with the negativity just block them. Nobody here likes them anyway.

I know that there's fear of alienating your audience by pivoting your content but I assure you there are so many people who will stick with you, and you could gain a new audience as well. I was wondering where you were, so I'm glad to see an update video from you. I can so relate to everything you brought up in this video. I work in entertainment/storytelling, so the past 5 or so years have been really rough with the industry, public reaction, and even geek discourse. I got very burnt out, frustrated, and then I lost 7 years of digital files, so... that was a tough pill to swallow (I was also sitting on a lot of complete or near complete stuff, poof... gone in an instant). Make what you want to make and whatever you feel passionate about. We all grow and change... life is too short to try and force yourself in a box that you don't fit in anymore. Creatively I had to do something similar. Also in my personal life, I've turned an interesting corner in the massive amounts of things I've loved for years and now I tend to focus on just a sliver. One of those things is still really loving the MCU, but it seems really popular to hate on that anymore so... like you and K-pop, I just kinda enjoy it by myself now and miss the enjoyable discourse. There are ways around music and trailer reactions. For music, two reaction channels I love are Scru Face Jean and Lost in Vegas... check them out and see how they get around it (mostly pauses every so often to comment on things). The Normies is a great example on how to do trailer and show reactions.
As a fellow content creator: Do what you love, otherwise it will turn into soul-eating "work" and kill your spark. As you grow big enough in any platform, the community will get worse as people no longer know you and comment without context, it's almost inevitable. And yes, censorship is gearing up and it's harder and harder to reach any humans to veto strikes and bots are mindlessly brutal. If Patreon ever gets their video platform mainstream most UA-camrs will quite UA-cam forever, there is so much hatred for the big money cut and censorship and bots. Lovely to hear more about you as a human being (I'm heavily assuming you're one ;-)), remember that any struggle you go through (skin) you makes you human and is kind of interesting as it creates tension/whatever. For me, the two reactions you have done that have stuck with me are Midsommar and Cats. All the best

First up, anime and K-Dramas are AMAZING. My Squid Game reactions went through the roof on my channel and introduced a whole new country to my content. My anime reactions (depending on the show) also skyrocket. Anime fans will find you and they are a plenty. I do movie reactions too, but like you, they are so painful and tedious to edit. I rarely do them anymore. But anime and tv series are a lot shorter so I’m sure you’ll find the time frame a lot more “life balanced” for you. Music reactions man, that audio will be like a red flag to a bull for copyright blocks. Maybe mute a lot, regular gaps in the song. But I get the frustration and wish you nothing but the best.
Firstly I have been watching your channel for over 10 years pretty much since the very beginning (I remember your shoe store tales) , you are one of the greatest OG reactors. I'm going to be blunt with you, WHY ARE YOU NOT ON PATREON?? Popcorn in bed makes probably 20 to 25 THOUSAND dollars a month off her channel. Natalie Gold probably 15 to 20k. People adore you and are willing to support you. I get that you want creative control but if you have money to pay an editor you might find someone to collaborate with that you really gel with. It seems like the drain of editing is what's holding you back, not the joy of watching thought provoking or fun films and sharing with us. I think getting a second channel to try new things is a great idea if you get copyrighted there, it will not affect your main channel,. I will support you whatever you choose. I will always be a subscriber. Reactions are my favorite content but I will always support you. Like I said I've been with you for over a decade and that's because YOU are awesome.
The first video of yours I watched was your reaction to Midsommar and I watched that movie, because of your video. I'm still here for your authentic personality and genuine passion. You've helped me expand my movie interests and when watching one of your videos, it's like watching with a good friend. I love anime, and manga. My favorite anime series are Full Metal Panic and Death Note; I can relate to not having anyone in person to discuss similar interests with, completely unfiltered! Also, I've been shelving my videos on my channel mainly because the editing process is an entire project itself. My passion flame is for reading and writing so my focus is directed there. You look grand, welcome back, and go at your own pace!
There are channels dedicated to music reactions, so it's possible. I know people who are in love with K Dramas so there's an audience for that (not me though 😅) Everything you said about editing is why I stopped uploading videos 5 years ago. I still have 2 videos from last year that I'm yet to edit and honestly, I'll probably give in and use Fiver eventually. You'll be fine. Whatever you upload, there'll be an audience for it. Just do you and be consistent. All the best.
I think at the end of the day - it shouldn’t matter what the viewers think. I follow people that have completely changed what I followed them for, but I stuck around because of the person “I knew” through the stuff I used to like to watch. Sure I may not watch every single video now, but your own personal happiness is more important. New viewers will find their way to you and provide more discussion. Old viewers may stick around and get introduced to new stuff. Do you! 🙂
I found your channel because of your ATEEZ video. The whole reason why I loved your ATEEZ reaction is because you were real. Of course seeing someone be genuinely excited about something that I also love is the best feeling. But in addition to that, I could tell that you were presenting yourself as yourself, not trying to put on an act for youtube, or exaggerate your opinion of something for views (like some content creators do). I understand you have to censor yourself sometimes around certain subjects, but there's a difference between omitting something and faking something. You are real and it's so obvious, and it's why I chose to follow you. So I hope that you know that some of us are here not only because we like the things you're reacting to, but because we like you. 💖You mentioned wanting to have a relaxed chill sort of vibe in your video edits, and I totally think that will work for you. This video of you just talking was about as chill as it can be and I connected with you the whole time. Also, K-pop ruined all other music for me! I too listen (almost) exclusively to all my favorite K-pop songs every day (Stray Kids and ATEEZ).

I guess im one of those channel subscribers who dound you during the lockdowns when i was on a huge react binge. The reason i stuck around is that i really enjoyed how you come across during your videos. As others have said just do what suits you, the fact were here replying to a first post in a few months means were here for the long haul :) Im not personally into the kpop scene but im absolutely into you enjoying what your doing :)
Hey Nics. I've watched your channel for a long time. I'm glad you're back and to hear that nothing TO serious was going on with you (Like your health or family stuff). Lots of of content creators I've watched have that clarity of realizing they are either over worked, overwhelmed, mental etc. So by all means, take your time with your content. The world isn't going to end if you're a little late or something with a video. Looking forward to what you have coming down the line. Glad see you. Also with you getting to posting anime based content. Be on the look out for an anime coming out this year, in Japan first of course, called 'Go! Go! Loser Ranger!' Think 'Power Rangers' meets 'The Boys'. Mind you I haven't watched The Boys yet but I know its got the whole darker side of superheroes.
Heya Nici I haven't revisited your channel in a hot minute but I've been subscribed for a good while now, more than a few years. Channels change all the time and people change all the time, and it's good to adapt to those changes. I don't listen to a lot of K-pop and I haven't seen a lot of anime or k-dramas but if you wanna do more Korean entertainment or Asian entertainment in general, I'm on board with that for sure 😊 Excited to see the direction the channel goes ❤️ And congrats on your full time job!
Glad you're still here and figuring out your style despite the adversities, it's easy to lose your passion due to negative comments, fighting copyright strikes and all that boring stuff. I've seen several promising channels pop up over these last years running out of steam and unfortunately quitting. I followed you a few years ago for your reaction content but I can listen to you discuss anything you're passionate about really. Keep doing what makes you happy, if editing reactions and getting them taken down is annoying just make it a review/discussion video instead. I follow a Imon_Snow, she does reaction videos but sometimes her post-reaction talk is longer and more profound than the actual reaction part. If you have something to say people will watch it no matter how much of the movie/show you have attached to it. ❤

FWIW, I would be very happy to see more anime reactions. Of the backlog of reactions/commentaries you had listed, Your Name and Akira were the two I'm most looking forward to. Just... avoid Studio Ghibli, maybe? ...Not that I don't wanna see commentaries, but I hear they're particularly aggressive on the copyright enforcement. As for the rest... take your time, try new stuff, be comfortable, speak your mind. This should be a fun side project, so do whatever you need to do to keep it fun and avoid burn out.

As far as content goes, even though I found you through movie reactions, I’m willing to see whatever direction you ultimately decide to take the channel. To echo everyone else on here, I think you should cover what you love. Over the past couple of years, I’ve also gained an interest in K-Pop so I’m down for you to shed some light on your faves. I’m not well versed on K-dramas, but I’m down for any recommendations for those as well. There will always be loud negative voices on here, but I believe your core viewers will stick with you whichever direction you choose to take. I must have subscribed to you a while back from horror reactions. Most of my subscriptions are for horror, thought I'd let you know! You are right to avoid politics, I'm right leaning myself (although the scale is very much relative...) and the more you discuss or view opinions the more people will argue with you. I would say to ignore the negative comments online, they will always be there no matter what you do or how perfect you are, it's easier said than done but it's better to ignore them and continue with what you do than do nothing at all. As fellow UA-camr I complete understand what your going their some week or month that don’t want make video and then I do read comment which a lot them positive but their negative one that totally get me down but I try to keep positive in my life
Same issues with Adriana I guess, editing can and often time be a bich, especially with how youtube handles copyright. Sad that she isnt coming back, and even her old videos are gone. Really glad you're coming back, hopefully things get better for you moving forward, do what feels right to you, since YT isn't your main source of income, you have the freedom to experiment with your content, both in terms of editing and the genre. Even if the type of content will be more niche, and your overall reach, may get smaller, but it could also tailor your audience to match your own vibes/interests. I'm more right and conservative, but I can enjoy content that isn't exactly aimed for my demographic, I'm sure others are as well, if they can't just tell them to leave your channel. I'm Asian, yes I enjoy Asian cinema, K-POP, J-POP,J-ROCK and anime. The copyright for anime movies/series can be pretty rough, probably tougher than a lot of western movies. So hopefully it wont cause too much of an issue, since you're interested in the content, hopefully it can alleviate editing stress. A lot of K-POP groups do enjoy when people react to them, so you can just react in its entirety, if you get hit with copyright on them just make a note of which groups they're and stop doing songs from that group/company. Have you ever heard of the Japanese band "One Ok Rock", their songs and concerts are amazing, my personal fav is titled "We Are"

Hey Nici! I really want you to do what you want to do. I often feel bad when creators feel they should depend on what others like as opposed to what makes them the creators happy. I mean I get it, in order for videos to be successful, viewers have to like the content you make but I also feel it's important that the creators are also happy with the content they make so I hope that whatever you end up doing, you're 100% happy with it! You mentioned watching a lot of Korean dramas and I think that could be a fun thing to do videos on. I never really got into them but I've been trying to cause as a Korean myself, I've always been fascinated with the culture and after watching a Japanese Victorian drama series, I've been interested in seeing a Korean style of that so if you want to do videos on that, I think that could be really fun!
Never listen to the people who don't have your best interests at heart. I'd love to see you do some videos showing Australia. I've been wanting to go there for years
Good to see you post and doing well. I personally have limited knowledge/interest in K-dramas and K-pop, HOWEVER, i would be open to seeing your reactions to them. I first started watching your channel from your horror movie reactions, but I'm willing to watch through this shift in content. With regard to music reactions, you should be able to edit down songs/albums such that they don't get dinged by UA-cam. There's a content creator i follow, "caitlin marie reacts", who listens to entire Taylor Swift albums and gives her reactions to songs as they're playing. I don't believe she's run into huge issues of copyright, so it's definitely possible. Looking forward to seeing whatever comes next!

As someone who had terrible skin issues as a teenager and has never liked being on camera I can relate. I loved the Lord Of The Rings video.. but I'm not a big fan of K-anything - anime is great, though. Still, you should do what you enjoy.. as long as UA-cam allows it.

i have a handful of k and j pop songs that i enjoy and have seen some amazing asian cinema but i must admit that all of it doesn’t hold the same amount of interest for me as it does for you. i’ve never seen a proper anime either 😬. that being said, go for the changes! the way your face lit up at the end talking about your loves was wonderful to see and there’s definitely an audience for it! look how many big channels here on youtube love anime and kdramas! i’m not going anywhere even with the changes and i wish you luck with it all 💛

Glad to see you back! A few other UA-cam content creators I follow have changed their vibe and content as they also have full time jobs away from here. The reasoning is usually they noticed their videos were noticeably insincere and not fun to make since they were just making videos to make videos. Now they’re making their videos based on what they care about and not just because they have to and it shows.
Whatever content you go forward with, your fans will follow.
I get you wanna post things the “we” will enjoy. You can’t please everyone. But in the end, I’m sure all the regulars will be happy knowing you’re enjoying the content you’re making. I think at this point we’re here more for your personality. Heck, look at all the posts of people saying they’re happy to see you again and glad you’re back.

hiiii welcome back! I rarely comment, but I think you should do what YOU want and the audience will follow. Even if your hardcore film audience isn't into k dramas and anime, there is a huuuuuuge subset of people who will find your channel and appreciate what you're doing (and many of us old viewers will stick around as well). I also really enjoyed your LOTR book content and if reading is something that you're doing a lot of, you should definitely do more book to movie videos. I recognize that UA-cam is a numbers game, but making content that you don't like just because it's what's comfortable for your audience isn't worth your unhappiness. I'm excited to see what you do with this channel and as someone who doesn't watch many k dramas/anime, I am looking forward to getting new recommendations from you!

People change, interests change, styles change. The ones who matter won't care, and the ones who care won't matter. The world is cruel, let alone the internet. I haven't been here for the majority of your UA-cam journey, but the time I've spent here has been great! I think I speak for most long term supporters when I say we'll enjoy whatever you put out! This platform should be for you to express yourself first and foremost. Be nice to yourself. :)
You have to do what you're passionate about. Have to. Don't compromise. If you're sincere and love the content you're producing, the right and most appreciative audience will find you. The new subject matter doesn't appeal to me, BUT I 1,000% encourage you to go that route. Life is too short to do anything less than what makes you happy and gives you fulfillment. Go for it, do it for yourself, and love every second of it.
Don't feel obligated to post. You can keep those videos in the vault if you want. As somebody who used to work in editing, I completely understand that it's a grind that can get mentally draining (that along with it being freelance and an unknown amount of compensation are why I don't work in that field anymore).
It would be cool to see some more vlogs like you used to when you were smaller. I've never been to Australia so seeing that sprinkled in could be cool. They may not get as many views as your reactions, but it's always a fun time and the process isn't as grueling. Plus, you don't have to worry about copyright.
As for the negative comments. People are jerks and that says more about them than it does about you. As somebody who has anxiety (I'm actually experiencing some ongoing cyberbullying over a harmless comment I made on a video) I get it.

For a k-dramedy I enjoyed - Vincenzo. It's got a lot of tonal whiplash, but is a weird funny ride.
Going through a similar KDrama and Asian cinema journey. The Korean Zombie genre drew me in back in 2017 and then lockdown gave me the opportunity to explore Kdramas in general. Same with Kpop and now I’m trying to learn Korean.
2023 being a crap year and dealing with skin issues -totally relatable. You are not alone. Do/film the things you love; the right community will grow around you😊
I’ve been a subscriber of your channel for a long time even before you do your commentary videos and I have been a kpop and kdrama fans even longer than that (starting around 2009) so I’m so excited that you have discovered the wonderful world of korean shows and kpop! I understand why you’ve been gone so long and it’s ok. Switching up what you do is great you need to keep it fun for you too. You will see a lot more people come when you switch.
Your reaction and opinions of the movie is more important than the actual movie. The majority of us have already seen the entire movie, so we are here for you. There is a lot of royalty free music, just pick one you like and play it over the footage of the movie. Put a speech bubble up that say something like, OOPS, CAN'T PLAY REAL SONG. You can mirror swap the image. Put weird emojis over some of the people's faces. Make it fun. If you watch Jason, put a funny meme in place of the killing. This is your channel, make it fun and the haters can go away. Your fans are here for you.

Just some words of encouragement to you. As someone who is a very strong conservative Christian man, you're allowed to have and speak about your more left-leaning ideas or opinions without getting unnecessarily harassed or hated for them.
People gotta learn to respectfully disagree and still love one another despite our differences. Some people live online too much and need to touch grass. We should all understand that we don't have to compromise personal convictions to be compassionate. Healthy discussions or debates can be a thing, but sometimes people go too far. Sew love and respect everyone. Not hate and malice.
Also, I totally relate to falling down the Korean cultural rabbit hole. It happened to me back in early 2021. I don't really watch the K-dramas, but I listen to a lot of different K-pop girl groups and I also picked up studying the Korean language. I'm on a 28 day streak on Duolingo and I had two to three months of study back in 2021 as well. It is surprising how much of a hold it can have on you 😂 I would love to watch videos about your K-pop journey.

I was wondering where you were, so I'm glad to see an update video from you. I can so relate to everything you brought up in this video. I work in entertainment/storytelling, so the past 5 or so years have been really rough with the industry, public reaction, and even geek discourse. I got very burnt out, frustrated, and then I lost 7 years of digital files, so... that was a tough pill to swallow (I was also sitting on a lot of complete or near complete stuff, poof... gone in an instant).
Make what you want to make and whatever you feel passionate about. We all grow and change... life is too short to try and force yourself in a box that you don't fit in anymore. Creatively I had to do something similar. Also in my personal life, I've turned an interesting corner in the massive amounts of things I've loved for years and now I tend to focus on just a sliver. One of those things is still really loving the MCU, but it seems really popular to hate on that anymore so... like you and K-pop, I just kinda enjoy it by myself now and miss the enjoyable discourse.
There are ways around music and trailer reactions. For music, two reaction channels I love are Scru Face Jean and Lost in Vegas... check them out and see how they get around it (mostly pauses every so often to comment on things). The Normies is a great example on how to do trailer and show reactions.
As a fellow content creator: Do what you love, otherwise it will turn into soul-eating "work" and kill your spark. As you grow big enough in any platform, the community will get worse as people no longer know you and comment without context, it's almost inevitable. And yes, censorship is gearing up and it's harder and harder to reach any humans to veto strikes and bots are mindlessly brutal. If Patreon ever gets their video platform mainstream most UA-camrs will quite UA-cam forever, there is so much hatred for the big money cut and censorship and bots. Lovely to hear more about you as a human being (I'm heavily assuming you're one ;-)), remember that any struggle you go through (skin) you makes you human and is kind of interesting as it creates tension/whatever. For me, the two reactions you have done that have stuck with me are Midsommar and Cats. All the best

First up, anime and K-Dramas are AMAZING. My Squid Game reactions went through the roof on my channel and introduced a whole new country to my content.
My anime reactions (depending on the show) also skyrocket.
Anime fans will find you and they are a plenty.
I do movie reactions too, but like you, they are so painful and tedious to edit. I rarely do them anymore.
But anime and tv series are a lot shorter so I’m sure you’ll find the time frame a lot more “life balanced” for you.
Music reactions man, that audio will be like a red flag to a bull for copyright blocks. Maybe mute a lot, regular gaps in the song.
But I get the frustration and wish you nothing but the best.
Firstly I have been watching your channel for over 10 years pretty much since the very beginning (I remember your shoe store tales) , you are one of the greatest OG reactors. I'm going to be blunt with you, WHY ARE YOU NOT ON PATREON?? Popcorn in bed makes probably 20 to 25 THOUSAND dollars a month off her channel. Natalie Gold probably 15 to 20k. People adore you and are willing to support you. I get that you want creative control but if you have money to pay an editor you might find someone to collaborate with that you really gel with. It seems like the drain of editing is what's holding you back, not the joy of watching thought provoking or fun films and sharing with us. I think getting a second channel to try new things is a great idea if you get copyrighted there, it will not affect your main channel,. I will support you whatever you choose. I will always be a subscriber. Reactions are my favorite content but I will always support you. Like I said I've been with you for over a decade and that's because YOU are awesome.

The first video of yours I watched was your reaction to Midsommar and I watched that movie, because of your video. I'm still here for your authentic personality and genuine passion. You've helped me expand my movie interests and when watching one of your videos, it's like watching with a good friend. I love anime, and manga. My favorite anime series are Full Metal Panic and Death Note; I can relate to not having anyone in person to discuss similar interests with, completely unfiltered! Also, I've been shelving my videos on my channel mainly because the editing process is an entire project itself. My passion flame is for reading and writing so my focus is directed there. You look grand, welcome back, and go at your own pace!
There are channels dedicated to music reactions, so it's possible. I know people who are in love with K Dramas so there's an audience for that (not me though 😅)
Everything you said about editing is why I stopped uploading videos 5 years ago. I still have 2 videos from last year that I'm yet to edit and honestly, I'll probably give in and use Fiver eventually.

I follow people that have completely changed what I followed them for, but I stuck around because of the person “I knew” through the stuff I used to like to watch. Sure I may not watch every single video now, but your own personal happiness is more important. New viewers will find their way to you and provide more discussion. Old viewers may stick around and get introduced to new stuff. Do you! 🙂
I found your channel because of your ATEEZ video. The whole reason why I loved your ATEEZ reaction is because you were real. Of course seeing someone be genuinely excited about something that I also love is the best feeling. But in addition to that, I could tell that you were presenting yourself as yourself, not trying to put on an act for youtube, or exaggerate your opinion of something for views (like some content creators do). I understand you have to censor yourself sometimes around certain subjects, but there's a difference between omitting something and faking something. You are real and it's so obvious, and it's why I chose to follow you. So I hope that you know that some of us are here not only because we like the things you're reacting to, but because we like you. 💖You mentioned wanting to have a relaxed chill sort of vibe in your video edits, and I totally think that will work for you. I think it'd be lovely to see you react to the stuff that you're so passionate about. You might lose a few viewers at first, but I think you'll gain new ones who will love you for the things that you love too (and forcing yourself to create stuff you don't like, won't work with the amount of time you need to spend on it, I think). I'll definitely be watching! (Btw, if you have many copyright problems, avoid Studio Ghibli please. They not only claim/block the videos, but hand out straight copyright strikes, even for short clips).

Heya Nici I haven't revisited your channel in a hot minute but I've been subscribed for a good while now, more than a few years.
Channels change all the time and people change all the time, and it's good to adapt to those changes. I don't listen to a lot of K-pop and I haven't seen a lot of anime or k-dramas but if you wanna do more Korean entertainment or Asian entertainment in general, I'm on board with that for sure 😊

Glad you're still here and figuring out your style despite the adversities, it's easy to lose your passion due to negative comments, fighting copyright strikes and all that boring stuff. I've seen several promising channels pop up over these last years running out of steam and unfortunately quitting. I followed you a few years ago for your reaction content but I can listen to you discuss anything you're passionate about really. Keep doing what makes you happy, if editing reactions and getting them taken down is annoying just make it a review/discussion video instead. I follow a Imon_Snow, she does reaction videos but sometimes her post-reaction talk is longer and more profound than the actual reaction part. If you have something to say people will watch it no matter how much of the movie/show you have attached to it. ❤

It's absolutely fine to take some time off for yourself, but glad to see you back! For what it's worth, I think it's best to work on what you're most passionate about in a way that suits you and your creativity. I'm sure that people will still follow whatever you come up with 😊
FWIW, I would be very happy to see more anime reactions. Of the backlog of reactions/commentaries you had listed, Your Name and Akira were the two I'm most looking forward to. Just... avoid Studio Ghibli, maybe? ...Not that I don't wanna see commentaries, but I hear they're particularly aggressive on the copyright enforcement.
As for the rest... take your time, try new stuff, be comfortable, speak your mind. This should be a fun side project, so do whatever you need to do to keep it fun and avoid burn out.

As far as content goes, even though I found you through movie reactions, I’m willing to see whatever direction you ultimately decide to take the channel. To echo everyone else on here, I think you should cover what you love. Over the past couple of years, I’ve also gained an interest in K-Pop so I’m down for you to shed some light on your faves. I’m not well versed on K-dramas, but I’m down for any recommendations for those as well. There will always be loud negative voices on here, but I believe your core viewers will stick with you whichever direction you choose to take. So I hope that aspect doesn’t deter you from this space again.

You are right to avoid politics, I'm right leaning myself (although the scale is very much relative...) and the more you discuss or view opinions the more people will argue with you.
I would say to ignore the negative comments online, they will always be there no matter what you do or how perfect you are, it's easier said than done but it's better to ignore them and continue with what you do than do nothing at all.

Same issues with Adriana I guess, editing can and often time be a bich, especially with how youtube handles copyright. Sad that she isnt coming back, and even her old videos are gone. Really glad you're coming back, hopefully things get better for you moving forward, do what feels right to you, since YT isn't your main source of income, you have the freedom to experiment with your content, both in terms of editing and the genre. Even if the type of content will be more niche, and your overall reach, may get smaller, but it could also tailor your audience to match your own vibes/interests.
I'm more right and conservative, but I can enjoy content that isn't exactly aimed for my demographic, I'm sure others are as well, if they can't just tell them to leave your channel. I'm Asian, yes I enjoy Asian cinema, K-POP, J-POP,J-ROCK and anime.
The copyright for anime movies/series can be pretty rough, probably tougher than a lot of western movies. So hopefully it wont cause too much of an issue, since you're interested in the content, hopefully it can alleviate editing stress. A lot of K-POP groups do enjoy when people react to them, so you can just react in its entirety, if you get hit with copyright on them just make a note of which groups they're and stop doing songs from that group/company. Have you ever heard of the Japanese band "One Ok Rock", their songs and concerts are amazing, my personal fav is titled "We Are"

Do what you want to do. Make what you want to make. Don't force yourself to follow trends or be what others want you to be, stay true to yourself. Editing of any kind of a soul sucking process that can drive anyone insane. Find someone to edit for you until you get your passion back.

Hey Nici! I really want you to do what you want to do. I often feel bad when creators feel they should depend on what others like as opposed to what makes them the creators happy. I mean I get it, in order for videos to be successful, viewers have to like the content you make but I also feel it's important that the creators are also happy with the content they make so I hope that whatever you end up doing, you're 100% happy with it!
You mentioned watching a lot of Korean dramas and I think that could be a fun thing to do videos on. I never really got into them but I've been trying to cause as a Korean myself, I've always been fascinated with the culture and after watching a Japanese Victorian drama series, I've been interested in seeing a Korean style of that so if you want to do videos on that, I think that could be really fun!

Good to see you post and doing well. I personally have limited knowledge/interest in K-dramas and K-pop, HOWEVER, i would be open to seeing your reactions to them. I first started watching your channel from your horror movie reactions, but I'm willing to watch through this shift in content.
With regard to music reactions, you should be able to edit down songs/albums such that they don't get dinged by UA-cam. There's a content creator i follow, "caitlin marie reacts", who listens to entire Taylor Swift albums and gives her reactions to songs as they're playing. I don't believe she's run into huge issues of copyright, so it's definitely possible.

As someone who had terrible skin issues as a teenager and has never liked being on camera I can relate. I loved the Lord Of The Rings video.. but I'm not a big fan of K-anything - anime is great, though. Still, you should do what you enjoy.. as long as UA-cam allows it.

i have a handful of k and j pop songs that i enjoy and have seen some amazing asian cinema but i must admit that all of it doesn’t hold the same amount of interest for me as it does for you. i’ve never seen a proper anime either 😬. that being said, go for the changes! the way your face lit up at the end talking about your loves was wonderful to see and there’s definitely an audience for it! look how many big channels here on youtube love anime and kdramas! i’m not going anywhere even with the changes and i wish you luck with it all 💛
i watch for your personality and your unique take on things so i think it would be fun to learn more about these different genres from someone wanting to share their enthusiasms with others, as you say you have to be interested in what you are doing to make it sustainable and fun for you otherwise it becomes a a bit of a drag, please keep going and best wishes ❤
