    Did you try leaving them a note about the lights or speaking to concierge about specific instructions for your room?

      I thought about it, but in Qatar it could get staff in trouble, which I don't want to do. This is why I put up the do not disturb for many days. I don't need daily housekeeping so I didn't mind.

    If your Doha work travels allow you to take weekend excursions… I suggest Dubai and/or Muscat just across a few borders. I lived in Muscat for 2.5 years. Nice views! Are your work days sat-Wednesday? Thanks Tiffany

    Have you got a gym or a swimming pool in the hotel? Was work in Doha different from other countries? It seems quite stressful. Is it similar to Dubai? I just visited Dubai. There were many foreign workers, but there was not many Chinese. How much did you spend on grocery each day? Did you have to buy bottled water?

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport  6 місяців тому +1

      It had both. It’s a bit different as people like to have lots of in person talks without scheduling anything but not very different. It is similar to Dubai but much smaller and feels more like the Middle East where as Dubai feels made up. I don’t know how much I spent. I didn’t pay attention. The hotel gave me water and we have it at work as well.

      Some five star hotels were quite cheap during this time of the year in Dubai, was only like $120/night. Didnt know if that's the case in Doha as well, but it does look like the facilities and malls resemble Dubai a lot. It must be fun to meet the Doha locals?@@agirlandherpassport

      Im glad it was worth the trip. Newer hotels in the middle east do seem quite enjoyable. Especially this time of the year, five star hotels in Dubai were only like $120 bucks a night@@agirlandherpassport

      I don't know as my company paid for this so I have no idea what the hotel costs are. They are nice hotels though.

    Any issues being a westerner and covering your hair, etc? Just curious how you might be affected by how women are treated, etc. Any issues going out in public?
    Thanks! Great video 😊

      Not at all. Even not all the locals cover. Women are treated very well in Qatar. It is extremely safe.

    I love love love supermarkets in other countries! Every time I go to Europe the first thing we do is go to the supermarkets. In Greece I’m always at AB, Masoutis and Sklavenitis. In France it’s Monoprix. We brings heaps of stuff home that we can’t buy here in Australia . Thankfully our allowance is 40kg each lol.
