Inspiring since I'm into content writing (technical writing actually, and instructional design), I'm also trying to see the options and maybe move back at some moment! Working in Greece is not smth I recommend, even when you speak fluently Greek. Hopefully you can keep working remotely and enjoy the nice aspects of living in Greece! 🌱

I am so interesetd in how is now situation about inflation in Greece, what are the prices now i 2023, do you see the difference, what is expensive for you what products are cheaper that in US etc. I think video about it would be really interesing !!
There won’t be any cost of living videos. I do still work for a place in Qatar remotely. I don’t know what prices are in the US as I don’t go very often.
Hello Tiffany ! ..from Montréal Canada. Very interesting, do you speak Greek to work in Greece? Never met anyone with your field of work. You’re doing well I’m happy for you. Good information..
I know some people who do not speak Greek and work here. But I think those jobs are few. I do not work in Greece though so I don’t have to know Greek. Although I do try to learn.
@@agirlandherpassport Just asking cause I who speak Greek, French, English. Thank you for your sharing ! I wonder what visa you got in Greece ? It hard to find people who really had digital nomad visa. Are there actually many digital nomad visa holder there ? I am preparing my visa
You need to contact the Greek embassy in your country to see how you can move to Greece. It is the best way to find out the correct information for your situation.
Regarding taxes, how does it work when it comes to that foreign income exclusion? Does that still come into play for the self-employed? And are you subject to any Greek taxes because you physicallly are in the country while working?
It’s a bit tricky for the foreign income and it’s best to ask your accountant if you are in that situation. As for working in Greece, it also depends as some people might be claiming tax residency here. It is different for your situation
@@agirlandherpassport Yeah, I would absolutely consult one if I were planning that. If you are a W-2 employee but working overseas, it is likely simpler from the US tax standpoint. But the self-employed angle is not one I ever thought about from a tax stndpoint overseas. I have my own business here in the US, and I understand fully the tax pros and cons of a US-based one. Not too many videos out there comparatively with self-employed people who also happen to live outside the US. And, yes, the potential Greek tax residency is another thing to consider.
@@amydv8123 No, US citizens are subject to taxation worldwide. One of the 3 or so countries in the world that have this policy. This is why some ex-patriate from the US.

Well first you try to get an appointment and that takes forever. Then once I went and applied about two and a half months. They wanted more paperwork but didn’t tell me or my lawyer so I didn’t follow up till when I thought I should.
It's hard to make a living in Greece. My cousin is from Athens. She immigrated to the US. The wages in Greece are very low! It's better to be skilled and already have a job lined up.

Hi, do Americans get jobs in Athens?
It is very hard as the company has to prove that no EU citizen can do the job.
Greeks are better for the job in my case maby Tourism's has a place for me. Thanks for responding I'll be returning in about a month.

It helps to know the culture and speak or understand Greek. It's always better to speak the language when moving abroad.
Greek is quite difficult, you’d have to live there to attain a good level.

im no expert but my accountant just told me if im in the US for three weeks a year, I can get taxxed fairly as US citizen.
US citizens are taxed on their worldwide income and it doesn’t matter how long you are in or out of the country.
