    Great videos just found you on UA-cam. I am now a subscriber. Lol I own a 2010 F150 XL super crew 6.5ft bed 2 inch level 98k 4 speed auto column shift. My truck happens to have the 4.6 3v. Out of curiosity what do I need to do to maintain this motor on a budget and perhaps gain some horse power and torque? Performance parts are so hard to find for my truck due to it having the 4.6 3v. Will mustang parts for my motor work or are there differences that won’t allow that?

    I've been told that centrifugal superchargers really don't build boost until around 3000rpm, but looking closely at the dyno it appears that although there isn't much difference in horsepower at 2500 rpm there appears to be a significant difference in torque, approx 25-40ft-lbs. Not as much as a PD blower obviously, but would be noticable when driven back to back no??

    • @BrenspeedEngineering
      @BrenspeedEngineering  2 роки тому

      Yes a TVS style supercharger does make instant boost at low rpm so your torque and power are way higher at say 2500 rpm but... a Centri style will build just under 3,000 and come in hard with RPM. Some people like the instant, others like the gradual build of power. I would say on a 3V the Paxton Novi 2200 Brenspeed package is the most popular. The non intercooled Throwback package is the lowest cost it uses a 1200 supercharger. THANKS!

      Our package comes with a tune. You do not need a local dyno tune. Think of it like this. Every supercharged GT500 leaves the assembly line with the same tune. Same thing here. Our package is for your car with the proper tune and we also have tunes for upgrades like if you do intake manifold, headers, cams, etc...

    I have Detroit rockers,Kooks, C/L CAI and those steeda underdrive pulleys which I heard have to be replaced if you supercharge. Do you have regular pulleys and can I get this with those mods? My understanding is you have to keep the torque below 450. Laugh but with my mods, my butt dyno says 400 to the crank now. If you don't do the install does it cost a lot to have installed? Next summer I want to mod again.

    • @BrenspeedEngineering
      @BrenspeedEngineering  4 роки тому +1

      Daniel for an install quote you will need to email quote@brenspeed.com, as for pulleys yes with a SC you need stock pulleys. Dont run underdrive pulleys with a SC. When we do installs we typically have stock pulleys around in case somebody has underdrive pulleys that need removed. THANKS

    I live in the southeast, In the summer where it is 95 degrees with high humidity at what temp does the car start to pull timing out ? Would it be slow with normal driving? I don't really need 500 hp but would like more than the 320 that i have with Bolt ons . How do people rate it that live in the south where it's hot?

    • @BrenspeedEngineering
      @BrenspeedEngineering  4 роки тому

      Depending on what package you have you will start to pull timing roughly 140 F intake temps. Its a ramp rate so the hotter the intake temps get the more it pulls for protection. This is temp of air entering the manifold, not ambient temp outside.

      James Barker I’ve always used the Prometh kits. (AIS) high quality stuff. Mounts in the trunk. Needs a boost reference/power. 3 gallon tank last a while. Only comes after a desired boost setting. Most of the time -20 windshield washer fluid is sufficient.

    I have a lightly modded 07 GT with a little over 130,000 miles. I was toying with the idea of putting one of these on but worried that I would be asking for trouble with as many miles as the car has on it... Wonder what your thoughts are on that.

    • @theawesomeguy9999

      Know it's a late response, but that all kinda depends on the state of the car. If it's been maintained well, quality oil changes ect and it's running great as is, people have success boosting high mileage 3 valves. If you're still interested I would suggest doing a compression test, that'd tell you a lot about the state of the motor

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Рік тому +1

      130k isn't that many miles people act like 100k miles a car is ready for the junk yard that isn't the case anymore like in the old days. Of course this is all assuming you take care of the car with proper maintenence. 130k isn't much and I wouldn't sweat the miles. The condition of the car is much more important than miles. You could have an engine with 50k that has never has the oil changed and wasn't maintained that may be ready for the junkyard and you may have another at 150k that was maintained correctly and is in much better shape than the original engine I mentioned despite being much higher mileage.

    • @BrenspeedEngineering
      @BrenspeedEngineering  4 роки тому +1

      You don't really need a new tune unless you are adding boost. Now if you are adding boost depending on what you currently have you may not need a new tune either. We check those on a case by case vs. what you currently have. BUT, adding an intercooler is not a tune required part in itself.

    • @BrenspeedEngineering

    • @chrishernandez2490
      @chrishernandez2490 3 роки тому

      They are some experimental ways. I believe procharger has a restrictor plate that can be used along with a smaller pulley. What this does is create more boost (across the entire RPM band) but physically limits that max amount of boost up top. So the boost level will max out along the middle of the RPM band because the restrictor plate will not allow it build any further.

    • @BrenspeedEngineering
      @BrenspeedEngineering  3 роки тому

      These 3V kits use bypass valves not blow off valves. They bypass the air when not in boost back to the induction side of the supercharger. You would want to run the bypass valve and not eliminate it.

      Intercooled keeps intake temps cooler. Non intercooled on a hot day if the IAT temps get high timing pulls to protect the engine. If you have a non intercooled and experience high IAT temps based off the area you live this would be the solution here is a link. It will help cool IAT temps when driving in warm weather.
