This is such an inspirational video! I love that you include the kids in your videos, they are so cute! Years ago I didn’t realize I want out of sandwich bread so I ended up using pancakes to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and my kids loved it. Sometimes things that we don’t plan ended be great. Have a wonderful week!
Timely video! My pantry and fridge are overflowing and I need to use things!! Also, have you ever tried to make your own vanilla? The beans are pricey to begin with but OMG the flavor is amazing and the beans last forever. I buy the cheapest vodka (a pint) and add the beans. Wait a couple of months before using it, and then just keep adding vodka to the bottle as the vanilla is used.
Nice video! We are currently doing this. I think we are all stuck on the idea that we all have to be eating the same thing for it to be a meal. I ❤ the smorgasbord approach to use everything up! 😋
I love your videos, positive energy and cameos of the kids. I also get ideas from you , which is pretty good b/c I’m old enough to be your mom. Wishing you and your family the very best!
I hear you about going through the vanilla! I find it cheaper to make my own by buying the vanilla beans and alcohol (vodka or spiced rum) and making a large batch. The price for a bottle in the grocery store is getting ridiculous.
I absolutely love the innovation products. Sometimes I eat the whole package with rice and sometimes I make two meals out of it, just depends on how hungry I am. I tend to only eat one meal a day.
Really interesting video. I happened to come across Mindy's first so it was fun she mentioned you and I got to see both of your takes on pantry challenges. It makes me realize how much food we still own when we think we don't have much left.
Hey there it's me again. I don't have time to read through the comments right now so I'm sure someone else has said the same thing to you. You can make your own vanilla by ordering grade B vanilla beans on Amazon. I hope you read this because I want to share what I do that's different that I learned from another UA-camr on here. I have started using spiced rum I don't even by the name brand I buy Costco's brand or Sam's Club sprained. I can't remember offhand. It makes amazing vanilla. It takes about six months for it to brew appropriately but it's worth it and so much cheaper.
Thanks for the inspiration! I have a hard time staying out of the grocery store. Plus a hard time using my pantry/freezer stash since I worked so hard to build it. 😎
You are so creative in using up your food. They look. Good and nutritious. I am inspired to use more of what I have in the freezer and pantry. Luv your channel.
Just a tip for a fellow vanilla user, you can get large bottles of vanilla for cheap from Sam's Club. I usually buy two at a time and it lasts a long time.......and I'm a big baker/from scratch cooker.
Your life will change if you make your own vanilla! So easy! Just get some vanilla beans and your choice of alcohol (bourbon or vodka) and in 30 days voila you have an endless supply of vanilla! When it runs down you just top it off with more alcohol 🍸
During a pantry challenge if I'm out of something essential, especially at the beginning ill go buy it. But also, this is why I keep 2 packs of butter frozen at all times. You can pull them out, put them in the fridge and they are perfect in 12 hours for use
I need to push back my next grocery trip I bet I could save some money if I get creative lol! Also do u have a stockpile? I noticed u were out of butter and oil and vanilla do u have a deep freezer or back stock pantry? Thank u for all of this inspiration ❤
I got that from Julia she uses a paper towel too and yes love see mindy I made her Thanksgiving dinner on a budget and everyone loved it I cant wait to make your lentils sloppy Joe's so excited to try it
Love your meal ideas; I used a few myself. I don't see a link for the macaroni meal you said was a dinner on a dime recipe. Can you post the recipe link, looks like a good, quick, cheap meal.
I am so not a fan of parchment paper. Aluminum foil all the way especially with sheet pan dinners and proteins. It helps things crisp and brown imo and it forms to the pan and can be shaped so easily unlike parchment. Great use of things.
I dropped off some cooked bacon and put that in my egg bites if I don’t have any bacon or use some real bacon bits and I also put some shredded cheese in them
Here is what I do with teriyaki noodles: Asian Noodle Salad 1 package Knorr-Lipton Asian Sides Thai Sesame Noodles, Teriyaki Noodles, or Plus Veggies -Unfortunately, this mix is not vegan. 1 cup frozen peas 1 small cucumber, peeled, seeded, and diced 1 small red onion, thinly sliced (or chopped green onion) 2 to 3 Tablespoons rice wine or cider vinegar Prepare noodles according to package. Stir in other ingredients. Serve as-is or chilled.
I didn't know it was possible to have leftover bacon! 🤣🤣
I cooked up a 2.25lb package! You’re right! It’s unusual around here 😂
😄😅🤣
I was going to say the same thing lol

I used to make cinnamon toast from leftover hot dog or hamburger buns for my children.

Just an idea....I always add homemade jam to my pancakes instead of vanilla and then minimize on the sugar.
Ohhh interesting!

I love how real you are! Thank you for sharing.

I recently started a batch of vanilla using vodka. I have some leftover vanilla beans, so I may try the spiced rum too. Thanks for the tip.

I really love the scratch cooking!

Bacon Greece can be froze or kept in the fridge for a long time. I use it for a lot of my frying. Especially breakfast stuff.
👍🏼👍🏼
@@MealsWithMaria it's a money saver too.

I absolutely love watching both you and Mindy. ❤
Left over taco meat is a great start for chilli!
That's what I use it for. Sometimes a Rotell cheese dip.
Yes I’ve done that!

I freeze it and use it to start my clam chowders- make it go so much faster as I don’t have to fry bacon first!
Great video! I like the music too!
Loved the video but the music in the back ground is a bit distracting!
Your son Ben reminds me of my son David at that age :) Now he is 30 and married and has 2 children of his own !!!
Aw it’ll be me someyday!

Good job using what you have. I think you can save more using less paper plates.
Love these ideas! I always try to use what we have
This is amazing! So inspired.
Great job!!!

Have you ever tried Mexican vanilla? It’s on the Mexican food section. At Walmart. It’s a big bottle for I think under $2 and it’s really good.
Awesome recipes ideas, thanks Maria,👍👍👍
You’re welcome!

Very good ideas!
I don't know if you had any but peanut butter or peanut butter and jelly on a pancake is great for a lunch or snack. Peanut butter and applesauce also

Hi Maria! I love these pantry challenges! Thanks so much for doing a video like this, super helpful, especially with food prices so high. 🍽🙂♥♥♥🍽

To get the egg bites super fluffy steam them in your instant pot.

Oh yum! Love it!
I used to rinse my ground beef when I was watching what I was eating. It really didn't taste any different
That was how my Mom did it all through the 80’s/90’s too. 😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Challenge for you. I want to find something other than tomato sauce and soup or Alfredo to put with noodles (any noodle). Please HELP.
Haha I’m making something tonight! I think you’ll like it! Stay tuned next week 😀
💖🥰😁
Hi Maria 👋
