Yet again going out in the Liberdade neighborhood, in São Paulo - Brazil, to buy my favorite crunchy bread in the nearby Chinese bakery, while listening to your music. Just became a member, I want it to be among the soundtracks for my daily life for as long as it can be :3 It's the kind of music that makes me really want to pay attention to the little things around me.
Yay!!! u make such lovely music ❤ ur story on the inspiration for the album reminded me of a time i went camping and spotted some ants taking pieces of our breakfast food to their nest. it was so fascinating to watch them carry such big things and working together to get their food home. it was so grounding to stop and watch the world happen in front of me.
that's lovely💚 i really like that last thing you said about stopping to watch the world happen. it sounds obvious but with all the things going on in our lives its easy to forget how wonderful the simple things in our world actually are,, and slowing down and paying attention to the little things can really make a difference in your day
Every camiidae upload is like a mini bug-sized christmas. 🐛 I love everything about these songs, also massive props for being able to make 37 minutes worth of music good lird
The snail got absolutely steamrolled by the other fellas at the end, but seemed determined regardless. This is awesome! Great video to keep me company while doing programming sessions, since the music is calming and the visuals are not distracting :D (btw random tip for desktop, if you right click twice on the video and click the "Picture in picture" option, the video will "pop-out" as an overlay; quite useful for the use case mentioned above)
So i just listened to this again and I wrote down all my interpretations as i listened, ive commented in the past and im sure people have similar interpretations so ideas are repeated im sure across comments, BUT: In ant it starts “empty, like an ant walking alone, but as the song goes on, you hear so many different sounds, they dont feel exactly like “oh melody and background” they feel like separate ideas that fit together perfectly, like how in ant colonies they’re individuals that work together, its so amazing. Then a melody kicks in that feels like a gentle march, also fitting for the lines of ands you see. And then there’s a part where it feels like confusion? Sudden stop and a sound i can only describe as a twirl. Like an ant lost finding its way back Then a low bass(?) so you feel heavy footsteps and then there’s rise and fall of the mallet instrument like the footsteps of other ants as the lone one finds them and the motif we learn to associate with ant comes in like finding home. Then drizzle comes in, the way i felt like i took a breath for the first time, the soft rain sounds, the gentle plucking and twinkles that feel like raindrops, the soft ringing in the background, it feels like the kind of rain that kisses your cheek, caresses your soul, and makes you smile. The kind of rain that comes on a perfectly normal day and makes it perfectly charming, and makes you just love the rain. Snail is absolutely amazing for this as a perfectly normal yet charming bug that adores the rain. The bass as the snail’s iconic sound is perfect in ways i cant describe besides “boing” is perfect for a snail, the rippling twinkles remind me of when i watch my pet snails foot ripple when i can see it through a clear surface. The snail is patient and slow and loves the rain and the rain loves the snail too, which i interpret from the soft piano making a similar sound and rhythm to the snail’s bassy boings. The dusk song feels so nice too, it sits heavy, like the sun slowly sinking out of sight, but not in a bad way, it feels uneasy but it sits just right in a way you know itll be okay, and then you hear the twinkle of the stars as they come into view. Then the cricket sounds come in and then the cricket song itself. The strings feel like crickets singing to each other, since they rub parts of their body together to make sound (which parts depends on the species) then the twinkles I’ve interpreted in two different ways, the crickets hopping from one place to the next as it sings, or the stars singing back to the crickets like the rain singing back to the snail. And that part where the singled out crickets song is, when i first heard it, i started screaming from joy, and the way it sits alone just with a little bit of music with it brings that feeling of when its night and the main thing you hear is crickets. When the music picks up i love it so much, i love the calling to each other in ways i cant explain, it tickles my brain just right. Then sunrise comes. The notes feel “dragged” in a way that feels like a slow lift, like the sunlight creeping in as the notes get higher with the rising sun lifting away the dew and shining light on the world. And the birds waking up and singing for the new day that gas arrived. And now we have mantis. Mantis feels patient, but not in the way snail does. The mantis is much more lively than snail. Its very consistent but feels like theres more energy. The music feels like a sway, like how a mantis does. It brings this image of a mantis swaying enjoying the music of the world around it as it positions itself to wait patiently for its next meal. Oh and that corvid call (idk if it was a raven or crow) right before when the music fades out at the end, the way it hit me hard. In this case its not an omen for death, but an omen for an end, hinting the next and final song, journeys end. I have no good words for it, its just absolutely perfect. It feels bittersweet in a beautiful way. The motifs for each bug coming back in as like a final goodbye and fitting together so beautifully is both like how with nature everything is connected, and its like how paths cross and journeys start but they can and do end. And its said its over but it was beautiful while it happened and is still beautiful to look back on.

Such a cute and immersive experience from front to back! There are so many details here that help bring this world to life: bird noises, rain (the dirt becoming darker was a very nice touch), night/day cycle, plus all the variants of rocks/sticks/foliage. The music is a perfect compliment to the visuals. The interludes bridge the tracks seamlessly, and the encore brings everything together so nicely! I think my favorite individual track is either cricket or mantis, but favorite moment overall has to be journey's end. Thank you and great job!!

Estoy maravillado con la ultima canción, es una locura, los pelos de punta y la boca abierta.. Con este álbum has pegado un cambiazo enorme para mejor en tu canal y has innovado un montón. El estilo sigue siendo el mismo, pero la calidad y los cambios se notan, es genial y todo el esfuerzo y cariño que has puesto han merecido mucho la pena ya que el resultado es perfecto. El cambio y la mejora en los instrumentos y sonidos molan mucho, incluso noto mejora en la calidad del dibujo pero creo que son cosas mías, las transiciones son preciosas, la introducción y el final también. Sobretodo el final, me encanta, no sé cómo has logrado juntar todas las melodías principales y que quede tan precioso pero es una barbaridad. Tampoco sé cómo logras que los bichillos desprendan tanta carisma solo con moverse, es muy divertido como se frena el fondo, ocurre la transición y luego aparece el bicho, como si entrara en un telón, me he sentido como viendo una obra de teatro mientras aparecían los personajes presentándose. Y me encanta que el estilo de animación sea el mismo de siempre, el bicho tambaleándose de un lado para otro pero aquí le añades un cambio y es que ahora hay varios fondos que se mueven a varias velocidades hacía atrás para causar esa sensación de que hay un movimiento. Note también un cambio parecido en el album de cambrian animals pero manteniendo la esencia inicial y es que ahí los bichejos se tambaleaban en movimiento de oleaje, porque eran animales acuáticos y la verdad es que me gustó mucho ese detalle. En mi opinion, podria ser tu mejor creacion hasta el momento, te vas superando con cada porción de arte que cocinas, enhorabuena :] estoy muy contento y agradecido de poder escuchar y ver lo que haces, nunca cambies tu estilo, es único! Eres una persona muy trabajadora y un artistazo, siempre te lo diré, porque es la verdad!! 💚🐜🐌🦗(emoji de mantis que no hay) PD: Me iba a unir al estreno, de hecho dije en el chat "en 40 minutos vuelvo" bueno, me dormí. Estoy maravillado con la ultima canción, es una locura, los pelos de punta y la boca abierta.. Con este álbum has pegado un cambiazo enorme para mejor en tu canal y has innovado un montón. El estilo sigue siendo el mismo, pero la calidad y los cambios se notan, es genial y todo el esfuerzo y cariño que has puesto han merecido mucho la pena ya que el resultado es perfecto. El cambio y la mejora en los instrumentos y sonidos molan mucho, incluso noto mejora en la calidad del dibujo pero creo que son cosas mías, las transiciones son preciosas, la introducción y el final también. Sobretodo el final, me encanta, no sé cómo has logrado juntar todas las melodías principales y que quede tan precioso pero es una barbaridad. Tampoco sé cómo logras que los bichillos desprendan tanta carisma solo con moverse, es muy divertido como se frena el fondo, ocurre la transición y luego aparece el bicho, como si entrara en un telón, me he sentido como viendo una obra de teatro mientras aparecían los personajes presentándose. Y me encanta que el estilo de animación sea el mismo de siempre, el bicho tambaleándose de un lado para otro pero aquí le añades un cambio y es que ahora hay varios fondos que se mueven a varias velocidades hacía atrás para causar esa sensación de que hay un movimiento. Note también un cambio parecido en el album de cambrian animals pero manteniendo la esencia inicial y es que ahí los bichejos se tambaleaban en movimiento de oleaje, porque eran animales acuáticos y la verdad es que me gustó mucho ese detalle. En mi opinion, podria ser tu mejor creacion hasta el momento, te vas superando con cada porción de arte que cocinas, enhorabuena :] estoy muy contento y agradecido de poder escuchar y ver lo que haces, nunca cambies tu estilo, es único! Eres una persona muy trabajadora y un artistazo, siempre te lo diré, porque es la verdad!! 💚🐜🐌🦗(emoji de mantis que no hay)
