I did a video “Volvo D13 EGR repair”. In it I break down the entire egr and rebuild it. The oil lines cool the egr. As you will see they do not lubricate the egr. For less than $20 a lubrication port can be added to the egr valve and eliminate the problem of it failing.
Thank you Sir, you saved me so much worry,.. hot water works like magic in the venturi holes,..I had opened only one with a wire hangar, but the other one just wouldn't budge! Until I used hot water!! Many thanks & best regards.
Hello man, I love how you explain how everything works thank you. My question is how does the turbo effect egr. So how is the dpf sensor and turbo and egr all working together with each other. Please explain. Thanks again
How the EGR, Turbocharger and DPF delta pressure sensor communicate with each other The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system components are: 1. EGR Valve: Part in charge to open and close the exhaust gases controlled by the ECU using the EGR DPS. 2. EGR DPS (Delta Pressure Sensor): installed in the EGR Venturi Pipe measure the pressure between the EGR cooler outlet and the intake manifold. It helps to control the EGR valve. 3. EGR Cooler: to cool down the exhaust gases with a engine coolant heater exchanger inside. The EGR valve is likely to stick and become coked up on some applications. This can have a significant effect on the performance of the turbocharger. A faulty EGR valve can result in excessive carbon/soot at the turbine end. This could cause the VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbocharger) mechanism to stick. If the DPF delta pressure sensor (measure the pressure between the inlet and the outlet of the DPF) detects a high pressure readings (usually above of 3.0 PSI) the engine will shutdown to protect components like the Turbocharger. The EGR system must work together with the turbocharger to achieve appropriate air pressure for the engine intake that equals a efficient engine torque output. The ECU connects all these components in order to provide fuel efficiency with high performance. But in real life, to achieve both with success, well, usually companies sacrifice one for another. This is as simple as I can explain it. I hope this gives you an idea how those parts work together. Thanks for watching.
Hi I have a truck 2016 freightliner day cab , has spn 411 fmi 1 and spn 3058 fmi 9 I did Delta pressure port Cleaning but still have the light on and off , do you know what is going on with this truck? please let me know thank you!
When you get a new EGR Venturi from Volvo dealer, they will sell you an update design, in my personal opinion the new is better because you can clean it unlike the older pipe. Thanks for watching and support the channel.
Yeah, actually the old Volvo design could not be clean by hand. The new one can be clean properly by hand. Freightliner has not changed their design even in new engine models. Thanks for support the channel.
To clean the spot from inside the EGR Venturi pipe, you can use: 1. Warm water with a bit of dishwasher soap. 2. You can use an screwdriver to remove the chucks of soot faster. 3. Diesel and brake cleaner might help but after you removed the thicker part of the soot. 4. To clean the small holes just a paper clip. The flexibility of the paper clip will allow you to clear the hole properly. 5. Once you are done with the washing process, rinse with water only. Then, Just let it dry for 30 minutes or clean it with a rag or shop towel. 6. As reminder after you have cleaned the part, if you see any crack when you are cleaning the EGR Venturi pipe, replace it.
Best volvo repair video I ever saw. Thank you
Thanks for watching.
Lots of info. Thank you sir good video
Your the man thanks for the video is so interesting
You got me on the first minute, nice video 👍👍👍👍

Do both holes go all the way through the freightliner pipe. Because tge hole on the radiator side goes through but not the engine side

Does new design venturi pipe fits instead old venturi pipe? Or should I use original old design for D13 2011?

@@LetstalkDIESEL thank you
Is the new style actually better than old style?

Soak in a bucket with water and “Dawn” dish soap cleans like brand new…
Thanks for the advice and watching the video.
Having my EGR replaced by Volvo been in the shop a week they said there waiting on this ventri pipe smh
You didn’t sat what tools to clean it with wire brush soft cloth, pads what? Break cleaner, diesel eta.
